The score is the only weak element to the Nolan Batman films. My guess is, WB pressured Nolan to get a high profile composer for the score.
Hans Zimmer is a hack who produces nothing but recycled and generic synth-heavy slush. He couldn't even entirely score the films himself. (The far infinitely more talented James Newton Howard scored the more subtle cues.)
@Skull10 agreed - I can't understand the obsession some people have with these scores. Fair enough we all have opinions but I just don't get it. These scores are nothing more than textures & sounds with very little 'musical' content. I think JNH shold have gone solo...
