I have a min pin. She is the light of my life. When she was 5 mos old she was hit by a car on the highway and left for dead. Her original owners said they wouldn't pay for her surgery and told the vet to put her down. They called the shelter where I got her which paid the 10k for her legs to be put back together. I'm so grateful for the shelter that saved her and that incredible person that stopped on the highway and brought her into the shelter. She's doing great now and she's my pal!
i'm so sorry for your loss, but you can take great comfort in the fact that you gave that precious little girl a good life for as long as you did. i agree with another comment down below about how awful humans are--only the lucky ones of us who have good relationships with dogs can even HOPE to be worth something.

I only put clothes on her because she was very ill. She had mange since she was born and the owners threw er in the street. By the time I rescued her, she was covered in gaping open sores, locked in a cage and freezing. I took her in a nursed her repeatedly to health. She even appeared in a magazine for a before and after of what is possible with ill dogs. But she continued to get ill and finally had a fatal response to medication. Her name was Bella and I miss her all the time.
@mogul8 she's a beautiful dog and it was really great of you to help her, even if in the end she .... it was still a better way to go then how she was before, you were probally the only person who showed her love.

smaller dogs like these two have to wear clothing, during the winter. thats about the only time i tolerate putting clothes on my min pin because other then that its not cute to me.

chihuahuas have very high metabolisms so they get cold in the winter so its advisable to dress em up i dress mine up when it get cold she loves it. so go read a book before posting ignorant stuff
Thats kinda weird - a high metabolism should keep you warm but now that you mention it my chihuahua mix feels the cold a lot more than my bigger dog (they eat the same amount so I assume she has a high metabolism too)

Just because you lost your cool and used the shock collar's max setting (something you're never supposed to do in the first place unless it's a big dog and they're being extremely aggressive) doesn't mean shock collars don't have their place. For us responsible users, they're quite useful.

miniature pinschers do vary in size i have a teacup miniature pinscher she is 9 mos and weighs 4 lbs and then i have a standard miniature pinscher and he is also 9 mos but he weighs 12 lbs. mini pins are so full of personality!!! i love my kids and i dress them for every occasion and there ears are not cropped, they either stand up on there own or they dont, cropping looks cool i agree but its not necessary. min pins rock!
r u asking how much teacup min pins are? i got my suki for $300 w/out her papers, but it depends on where you are/who u got to i have been trying to get her a tiny friend but no one has any for lower the
suki is the tinest i have seen. her mom is about 11 in and 6 lbs but Suki is only 4 pounds, and she is also about 9 in tall, my grandma owns one he is 5.5 lbs and 8 in
so really it depends on the parents of the min pin and breeder. some breeders say under 3lbs is teacup but i dont think that goes for min pins.
My mom, granpa, and uncle bought me a min pin for Christmas 3 yrs ago. They got her for me for $800. But I would recommend Regular min pins because sure Tea cup ones are cute, But they are usually aren't very healthy. They can exhibit problems from HYPOGLYCEMIA(low blood sugar)water on the brain to liver stunts. So be cautious when buying one.
But I saw a dog at crufts that was smaller than the chihuahua, and they said it was an adult min pin, as far as I know that dog is a normal pinscher....
My min pin Homer was 14 years old... unfortunately he got hit by a car Wednesday February 13... :( I miss my HOmey Baby soo much and I love Bella's outfit lol
Min Pins are really smart. They need lots of toys to play with or something to keep them occupied. My min pin keeps all his stuffed animals close by after he has chewed them up and showed them know who is the boss of the house.

Shock collars aren't cruel and when used properly, they're a great, humane training aid. If you set it on the lowest setting necessary to get a reaction from your dog it's no more cruel than a leash correction or a "bite" with your hand.

Dogs bark, thats what they do. If their barking is too loud for your neighbors in your small apartment then maybe you shouldn't get one; no matter how small and cute they are. Thats like putting something on a infant to control its crying in the middle of the night. Its wrong.

We have a Min Pin that kept running off, so we used the collar to stop him going near the boundary of the garden, which is better then him getting out and eaten by something like a fox, or run over.

letting them die from getting hit by a car is cruler if they stay safe in the yard they wont get the shock wich would actuly give 'em just a tingle, we had an electric fence for our german shepard mix and we would touch it for fun (keep in mind at the time I was just a little girl) , it feels like your arms going to sleep, well it was set to low pulse. these colars are set to weight so for a min pin it would be super low

Some dogs love clothes. My Min-Pin loves to wear clothes and my other dog will rip clothes to shreads if you even try to put something on her. To each their own.

@heramoth @heramoth I think it actually depends on the situation....I think its alright for dogs to wear clothes if their fur coats are not built for the environment they are in...Like my min pin gets extremely cold in the winter due to her short hair, so we put a sweater on her...But I do dislike when people dress their dogs for fashion or as an accessory.....All and all, I suppose it depends on the situation...

miniature pinschers do vary in size i have a teacup miniature pinscher she is 9 mos and weighs 4 lbs and then i have a standard miniature pinscher and he is also 9 mos but he weighs 12 lbs. mini pins are so full of personality!!! i love my kids and i dress them for every occasion and there ears are not cropped, they either stand up on there own or they dont, cropping looks cool i agree but its not necessary. min pins rock!

suki is the tinest i have seen. her mom is about 11 in and 6 lbs but Suki is only 4 pounds, and she is also about 9 in tall, my grandma owns one he is 5.5 lbs and 8 in
so really it depends on the parents of the min pin and breeder. some breeders say under 3lbs is teacup but i dont think that goes for min pins.

My mom, granpa, and uncle bought me a min pin for Christmas 3 yrs ago. They got her for me for $800. But I would recommend Regular min pins because sure Tea cup ones are cute, But they are usually aren't very healthy. They can exhibit problems from HYPOGLYCEMIA(low blood sugar)water on the brain to liver stunts. So be cautious when buying one.

No such thing as a 'normal pincher' lol.
There are German Pinchers and they are a bit larger than the Miniature Pincher, and usually fawn (light brown) in color.
The Doberman isn't related to the Miniature Pincher AT ALL. It is a separate breed. The name Pincher was dropped from the Doberman in Europe.

There actually isn't a normal pinscher. My miniature pinscher is smaller than this Bella, but they just vary in size.

Min Pins are really smart. They need lots of toys to play with or something to keep them occupied. My min pin keeps all his stuffed animals close by after he has chewed them up and showed them know who is the boss of the house.
