effing loved this game...

i kept it after all these years...looking back from playing it as a kid, it still drew me in so much...and now I'm a firm believer in faith, who would've knew?

Knowing what we know as adults looking back at the mysteries of games like this really open our eyes to everything else...the soundtrack, even know, still draws me to believe that the world of Xenogears exists somewhere out there

It's really saddening me to think that such a masterpiece like this won't be able to be witnessed by true gamers in the next generation.

Even at least a remake would make me very happy! I want the original makers of this game be recognized by lots of gamers in the future.

so what do you think are lacking in J-rpgs nowadays? Personally I think some of those things can be summarized as: originality(i.e. the simplest ex. look at Fei he resembles chinese, with a NON spiky, smooth, long, tied hair), how strongly it can invoke the right mix of emotions(i.e. great song, art concept and storyline) and depth or what i like to term multiple dimensionality(i.e. gameplay might not be deep but the depth of story and its development is dope quality).

What I believe is an rpg needs story and good music. The rest is secondary. What I mean by story is good character developlment where characters need to deal with each other and not only towards the main plot of the story. GOOD music just amplifies everything by a facter 10.

Yeah, although Xenosaga was not the official sequal Yasunori still did the music and the games producer went off to work with Namco- but because SF/SE ownes the rights there was nothing they could do. As for the reason of not continuing the series? There was too much controversy in the game dealing with religion. Although its popular this game is like a cult KINDA per say but yeah there were alot of religious refrences in the game that some people didnt appreciate sadly. So they stopped.

actually xenogears doesn't have an OFFICIAL sequel but some people consider xenosaga to be a sequel. they do share similar elements though

xenosaga is the prequel of xenogears. Xenosaga in my opinion wasnt even close to the original xenogears. Its one those games you will either like or dislike. Xeongears is my favorite rpg of all time. Pick it up if you like a fantastic story line.

Word, Xenosaga couldn't touch Xenogears. I did thoroughly enjoy the Xenosaga anime though, still not Xenogears quality but the pacing was a lot better than in the game and it expanded the story a bit.

Xenogears was the bestest RPG ever made by Squaresoft, and the game even tops Final Fantasy 7, well that's my oppinion.

hehehehehe Xenogears soundtrack won over Final Fantasy 7 sound track in mostly all the game magazines. AS it should be.

I'm sorry in my opinion, Nobuo is talented and has shown it in his many soundtrack he's written. But none of his music or any game song writer can make a better soundtrack then Xenogears.

Yasunori Mitsuda wrote an excellent soundtrack to the BEST Game EVER Made. XD
