  • Your guitar has a very classical guitar sound. It's interesting to hear Patterns with that tone.

  • Yep this cover wins I think it sounds super close to the original, I couldn't figure out that chromatic movement up during the bridge (verse?) but you've helped me here...

  • the piano arrengment is orgasmic

  • Eezerly done! As ever! That's so genius how you've imitated the piano, brilliant touch!

  • Great cover man. How do you get those high piano notes on the acoustic? Did you tune up?

  • @MetallHead9 Hi, thanks for commenting on my Patterns cover. The high piano notes are played as harmonics. I play the 12th fret with left hand as normal but pluck the E string and dampen at the 24th fret with first finger right hand. Hope this helps.

    Thanks again,

    Ian

  • oh my... your technique is flawless. props, sir!

Jmello408@g.rwu.edu I couldn't find your email. Very well done by the way! This is a great song to practice making each note as clean as possible, so I hope that with your help I'll be able to improve my technique!

  • very nice !!! like it

  • @dorond50 Thanks for watching. Glad you enjoyed this one.

    Eezer

  • Beautiful!

  • @ElegyForTheMasses Thanks for watching and commenting.

    Eezer

  • @eezerian So are you using an acoustic amp on this video and if so what acoustic amp?

  • @SpartanLaserCanon No I'm playing a guitar that has been factory fitted with an under-the-saddle pickup, straight into the POD X3 on a clean acoustic setting. Thanks for watching my video.

    Eezer

  • < Claping

  • @MetaRevealer Thank you. Please check my channel for more Opeth covers.

    Eezer

  • thanks man you helpme with some chords ;)

    u are awesome

  • Thanks possession, for watching and I'm glad it helped you with your playing. More to come.

    Eezer

  • Simply Perfect!!! WOW! Amazing!!!

  • it's sounds like chorus on the guitar or the guitar is little out of tune?

  • This cover wins. I'm really loving the piano-to-guitar arrangement for the melody... Just out of curiosity, how long did it take you to figure out the notes?

  • Thank you for commenting and for watching, I spent an afternoon with a keyboard to work out the notes for the piano part. Then about a week to get it all clean. Cheers

    Eezer

  • @Caldera Hopefully no time at all... he's most-likely classically trained and can read sheet music

  • why do you need a piano when you have a guitar?? :)

    freaking awesome ^^

  • lol....thanks, I wasn't sure that it was going to work until I borrowed a keyboard and messed around with some harmonics. Thank you for commenting.

    Eezer

  • is the highest E note a harmonic? o.O (of the guitar which plays the piano part)

  • Are all your tabs for 6-string guitars?

  • Spotless! Though I'd leave the flanger or whatever's over the guitar out. But hands down nevertheless dude.

Check minf if you'd like. Keep up the great work!

  • Hey man, thanks for your comments. Yeah I mucked around too much with my plugins (just worked out how to use them...I'm over it now). and yes I've seen your version ..nice playing too man. I liked your shirt a lot...wish I had one. Best wishes,

    Eezer

  • Cheers!

  • THAT WAS INCREDIBLE!!!

  • Hey Buttondiet, thank you for your response and for making my video one of your favourites.

    More to come....

    Eezer

  • very well played. I love the style. great form and also I have that same model guitar I think...what brand/model is it?

  • Hey vincenzonator, thanks for watching and commenting. My guitar is a Greg Bennett nylon with pickup. It is only cheap and I use it as my second guitar to my Gilet. But because it has a pickup I can record for these videos. If I can borrow a condenser mic from a friend I'd use the Gilet (as I did in my Benighted video). I chose this guitar because it doesn't have a cutaway but does have a pickup and a solid top, quite rare in that respect. Still, it's cheap as chips. Thanks again.

    Eezer

  • Have you ever thought of searching for like minded musicians to make multi instrumental covers? That would be amazing!

  • Hey Robzes, yes I have thought of it and I have tried to co-ordinate it but no-one has come forward to do it. Some of my friends play but not many really get into Opeth. I'm hoping that larztallica or oceansikth (both drummers/brothers) will put some backing tracks together for me, that woud be a start at least. As for creating an ensemble for live performance/recording, now that would be something. Thanks again Rob,

    Eezer

  • Christ u almost made me cry...oh wait, yep there we go. Thank you for defining a perfect song!!

  • Thank you for watching my video. I'm pleased you enjoyed my cover of an amazing song, tears...nice one. I get to see Opeth live for the first time on Sunday night and I'm hoping that wll be an emotional event too.....can't wait. Thanks again for commenting.

    Eezer

  • It was emotional alright, they opened with Windowpane (holy shit, they played an unrecognizable instrumental - like a warm-up - for about a minute and then it just...well, blew me away). After that came Ghost of Perdition and I got toasted by a wall of sound. After that I could have gone home completely satisfied, the next hour and a half seemed to go in a blink. Unbelievable band, best band). Too many good songs to mention, Melinda...that's when I cried...ahhh.

    Eezer

  • Oh my god, this is REALLY good. You got a great feeling for the song/music... The lead at 1.20 is beautiful.

  • Thanks maghthehagh, yes the piano part towards the end is my favourite part of the song too. I was really pleased with the sound of the two guitars together on this one. Thanks again,

    Eezer

  • BELLISSIMO!!! ^____^

  • Thank you for watching Justin,

    Eezer

  • man this is great! how have you do this at perfect tempo?

  • Thanks for commenting BonsayCow, I can't really answer your question other than that it sounded right to me. Glad you liked it.

    Eezer

  • This is perfect!

  • Thank you Platypus

    Eezer

  • absolutely beautiful !! the spirit of opeth's songs are in those covers of yours!

  • Thanks Kmahl for your comments and for watching my Opeth covers.

    Eezer

  • oh man!!!1 you even did the piano solo at the end!! ive been trying to get that on piano for a while. that was perfect, and your guitar even sounded like a piano at the beginning.

  • Thanks Fruitbooter, I wanted to work out the piano part to make the song complete. There are plenty of versions on Youtube but I wanted to post one that was just guitar and both parts working together. Thanks again and there will be more...

    Eezer

  • Awsome vid! I enjoyed it alow

  • Thank you binlagin, I enjoyed playing this one.

    Eezer

  • I just wanted to let you know how much from the heart I love your videos and the peace it brings to me. You are so talented and so generous to share this with the rest of us, I really wish someone from Opeth would see your videos! Im sure they would love them, please dont stop posting :)

  • Hey, thanks for your kind words regarding my latest Opeth video. It's so great to have people come back and watch my stuff (I remember you posted comments nearly 2 years ago on my "Bid You Farewell" cover). I plan to do more this holiday (in a week or so) so please keep checking. Again, thank you for supporting my videos and I will keep posting more. As for Opeth themselves getting to see them, well that would be something. Here's hoping. Take care.

    Eezer

  • I don't ever post comments on YouTube, but this one just demands a comment: this sounds absolutely beautiful. Opeth is excellent beyond comparison, as is your guitar playing. Love how the 1:20 part so closely mimicks the piano in the original. I have a "String tribute to Opeth" (with cellos) - I'd definitely love an "Acoustic guitar tribute to Opeth" by you :)

  • I'm glad that you posted your thoughts on this, I wanted to play this as soon as I heard it and never thought that it would comee out as well as it did. Th

at String Tribute sounds great, I'd love to hear it sometime. Close to "Windowpane" now, not far away, I'll let you know when it's up. Thanks for watching and for posting your comments.

    Eezer

  • perfect!!!!

  • Thanks again titasoft.

    Eezer

  • Should you compose something? .... YES !

  • I'll try, see what happens. I appreciate your comment very much, Bishop. New one just around the corner.

    Eezer

  • just beautiful my friend.

i do look up to u as a guitarist.

  • Hey Thomas, man thanks again for checking my vids. I know you have been supporting for a long time and I do appreciate that very much. New one very close now.

    Eezer

  • yeah, its been a while now.

    no problem!

    its beautiful man!

  • i didn't know a man you age that plays classical guitar could like Opeth, nice to hear

  • Hey Juchel, thanks. Yeah I guess the last thing you'd expect is a 40 odd yr old guy busting out some Opeth, but I suppose it takes all sorts. Just great that Opeth touches all ages. Thanks again for checking my vids out. Windowpane is close.

    Eezer

  • 1:21 perfection! Id love to hear you master "Death whispered a lullaby"

  • Hey Tyrntix, thank you for watching and commenting on my video. I love the track you recommended and for the most part it is manageable for me, but I need a really good drumtrack to do it justice. Please keep checking for new ones anyway. Thanks again.

    Eezer

  • man oh man this is gorgeous.

  • Thanks Princess, glad you liked my version of this beautiful track. More to come.

    Eezer

  • omggg this is.. holly shit im speechless .. amazing talent .. i wanna play like that oneday

    Eezer

  • very nice ! good Job !!! 5 Stars

  • Thank you Riterametal. More to come.

    Eezer

  • wow great job! Where did you get the tabs

    /chords?

  • Hey Johnson, thanks for checking out my vids, man. I got the tabs from 911tabs, using the Powertabs model (with a couple of minor adjustments) for the main part and I worked the piano part out myself.

    Thanks again

    Eezer

  • LOL Awesome you play the piano with your guitar!! :D

  • Thanks, the piano part was always going to be a part of this one, I just wasn't sure how to get the high notes until I messed around with some harmonics. Glad you liked it.

    Eezer

  • Perfect.

  • Thanks for watching Dharahion.

    Eezer

  • insane :[)

you take lessons or learned by yourself?

  • Hey krypticsnow, good to hear from you. Thanks for watching, yes I'm self taught.

    Cheers, Eezer

  • L Block!

yet again your talent inspires me...

  • Hey mik, how's it going. Thanks for checking my vids again, I'll play it live for you next time man.

    Call soon

    E

  • Thanks Domenicci, I just replied to reaper and commended him on the suggestion. Man I 'll give it a go, you just never know. Cheers

    Eezer

  • Hey Eezer, damn neat as always!

Did you write down the piano notes in a way so there is a chance that you can submit a tab or something? I've been searching for them for a long time because a friend of mine plays the piano and we want to play this song together.

  • Hey Faxe, thanks for the comment. I can write the parts down for you and email (no problem), it will be a word doc I suppose. Please send me your email address and I'll see if I can send you something.

    Thanks again

    Eezer

  • Clean...Amazing...Beautiful...10/10

  • A thousand thanks...

    Eezer

  • Great work as always Eezer, good to see some new stuff from you :)

  • Hey Joosh, thanks for watching my vids again, man. I appreciate it very much.

    Eezer

  • Really well done Eezer. For me as a an amateur, gaah even amateur is flattering me, this video was an inspiration. Thanks for that :D Keep the vids coming.

    Meta

  • Thank you Metafreak, I'm pleased that you can take something from this and help you get better with your playing. All the best and keep going.

    Eezer

  • great job! and very meat as always! keep it up! :)

and i really really wanna see you playing black rose immortal and blackwater park! :P

  • Thank you Hellboy for watching my vids again, there is more to come but those 2 tracks you mentioned will be very tricky to work out, sorry man, they'd be a long way off. I wouldn't want to butcher them either lol. Keep checking.

    Eezer

  • Thanks for your comments and for watching my new vid, Doomsayer.

    Eezer

  • fucking great cover

  • Thanks crossbones, it is a beautiful track.

    Eezer

  • great work! nothing bad to say about the playing, but... if you had some cleaner way of recording the guitar sounds it'd be excellent. right now, it's a bit too distorted to sond great.

    keep'em coming

  • Yeah nice condenser mics would be great. As it is it lacks a bit of the 'sparkle' that they get, mind you he plays it on a steel string which would add to that sound. I'll keep working on upgrading my gear now and then. Thanks again for watching and sharing.

    Eezer

  • Excellente

  • Thanks for watching.

    Eezer

  • Very good. Only the riff at 1:07 is slightly off, but only for half a second so who cares.

How about windowpane :D? Credence? Coil?

  • Yes, coil would be an interesting arrangement, especially with 2 different voices. Windowpane is close now so that'll be next....wish me luck. Thanks

    Eezer

  • This is awesome man! Your guitar really fitted in as a piano despite what I expected. Another great cover.

  • Thanks BrutalD I wasn't sure about the piano part until I started messing around with the high notes. I borrowed a digital piano and worked them out one phrase at a time. Glad you liked it. 'til next time.

    Eezer

  • WONDERFUL MY FRIEND, even Opeth should play sometimes this beautiful tracks, congratulations i can't even play Pink Panther on guitar lol, you're really very good!

  • Thanks for watching Eddy, Pink Panther (lol)....keep trying man, you'll get better every day. Opeth FTW.

    Eezer

  • This has always been my favorite Opeth song, but I've always had an issues with 5 string fingerstyle arpeggios because you don't play it with your last finger on the right hand.

I see how you played it with you thumb, and your technique is very very nice :D

  • Simply beautifull guitar work as always, awesome cover!

  • Thank you for checking my vids again man. More to follow.

    Eezer

  • Very nice as always. Now who wants to see eezer play some of the heavy Opeth stuff? :P j/k, your Opeth acoustics are beyond fantastic. Thanks for sharing!

  • Haha, thanks for watching my vids BlackRoseImmortal. I know, a couple of heavy ones would be awesome, perhaps in the future I might surprise everyone with something earth shattering, that would be great. I've always been put off by not being able to replicate the vocals on my nylon (lol, now that would be something). I'll think about it, the song choice would be crucial there....what do you think, which one? Well, thanks for checking my vids again.

    Eezer

  • Dirge For November, the intro would be perfect for you, and the electric guitars are very very heavy and tasty :)

  • Haha, I'd forgotten about that one...well, that's got me pondering.....the intro is insane (good) but it does go mental (also good) after couple of minutes. How about if I record the heavy section just with guitars, not worry about the vocals and people can practice their growling at home...??

    Thanks for the suggestions, man.

    Eezer

  • wonderful, as usual :)

  • Thanks for watching and commenting, Malefi.

    Eezer

  • this is just art!!!!!

  • It is beautiful hongozombie, I love the simplicity of it, not at all overstated. Thank you for continuing to support my covers man, I really appreciate it. Another one is just around the corner.

    Eezer

  • I had hoped you would play this song, thank you for doing so. I enjoyed and I hope you continue playing more stuff.

  • You're welcome, Jacob. I'm working on new stuff right now and will be posting again very soon. Thank you for watching.

    Eezer

  • Perfect

  • Thanks Rockedellic, I love your work too man.

    Eezer

  • amazing as always Eezer, i am a huge fan! you are a nylon prince!

  • Very kind words indeed sleighte, I'm glad you're enjoying my Opeth covers, cos I love playing them.

    More to come

    Eezer

  • Another stunner E.

  • Thanks Larz, I spent my holidays trying to put 'Windowpane' together but it's not ready yet so I had to post something and this is it. I'm happy with the result. Windowpane will be next and it's not far away.

    'til next time,

    E
