They are pretty good....not as good as the stuff from norway however. I did think it was strange that a band from taiwan would be black metal as black metal is supposed to be against the submissive routes of christianity which would of course be more of a european thing but they are good.
Yeah but I personally think there are too many subgenres. This falls closy to black metal. You already have death metal, black metal, prog metal, nu metal, thrash metal, heavy metal and rap metal. Off the top of my head. The last thing I wanna hear about is "Extreme syphonic metal". Wtf!?

Thing is, that's why its all subjective; it doesn't fall ANYWHERE near close to black metal(imo). Black Metal is ugly, uncompromising, un-technical.
Extreme is a placeholder for a word that isn't there. Hell, they MAKE a new subgenre because they break the norm due to being from China, thus, in any case, in status quo, I'd place them closer to FOLK metal than anything, due to their use of oriental instruments and melodies.
They're from Taiwan which I guess you can argue is China, but technically it isn't.
Also I don't think there's much problem with associating sub-category genres with a basic sounding genre. If you're to argue this is DEFINATELY black metal then I see your point but say I spoke about these to a relatively clueless person I would probably refer to them as black metal or at least black-ish metal.
Anyway I totally agree on the symphonic part, any band that has orchestral deserves the epic title.
Yes, I'd have to agree with you on it possibly being considered Folk Metal. In an interview, they actually said their songs are mostly about old, sad, Taiwanise legends or stories or something to that effect and there was actually a refrence to Folk Metal in there. Though they couldn't quite be Doom Metal.
There is an actual Sub Genre of Folk metal called Oriental Metal... so perhaps that's what they fall under? Though you cannot deny the strong Black Metal influence in their music.
Black metal IS not anti christian or whatever, is about be yourself and to be auto critic. Black metal is like a kind of transmition of fellings in the music, in order to create some moods very special. That's why they're right to use folk instruments so as to create that emotions, this is the symphonic black metal, well known ... I think you don't play music to say that black metal is uncompromising and untechnical.
holy shit. I think I just died when I heard this. It seems like I've been sent to a badass heaven. Now I could use this for my training and stuff. This is just freaking awesome.
I met the band in London last week. Doris and Jesse were fun to hang out with. They each gave a guitar pick to me plus Doris got a poster signed by the band. I also ate at the same diner down the street. CHTHONIC rules!!
I think perhaps this is more the sound that Cradle of Filth should have pursued on Thornography... that album was a bit of a letdown. Still good though.
The chick is hot - no doubt. They look a little too glam for my taste though. And I think the keyboards are too loud in the mix and a little too classical for the sake of being classical
Well... Enthrone is entirely in Mandarin. MOST of Seediq Bale's lyrics were translated in english while the rest was left in mandarin... like the whole second half of Quasi Putrefaction is in mandarin, which is probably why you don't understand... if you guys want the lyrics, metal-archives has them.
who cares ;P girls in metal bands are little more rare and she looks hawt. So if u check every band with a female in the group they takes more pictures of her ofc if she looks good

Extreme is a general term*
*that sentence didn't even make any sense -_- *
And also, since they AREN'T against religion or for rebellion *excluding one song* wouldn't that totally defeat the notion of them being black metal?
OneWinged456 3 years ago
*Oh, and just to clarify, this IS all my opinion, just trying to garner discussion. :P *
