@mavrek47 1st of all, the current tax rate was signed into law by W, not O. Second of all, Reagan's highest rate was 33% where the current rate is 35% but Obama's current tax proposal raises that to 39.6% with another proposal raising it to 45.5%.

Enemployement was around 5% in 06 (when the Reps lost the congress), after that, unemployement doubled, gas shot up to $4/gallon (has come down a bit, but is still way higher than it was in 01 when Bush took office ($1.69/gallon)), construction has nearly halted, housing sales are down 27%. Please tell me, what did the Dems do sooo well?

What money I do earn I am very charitable with. I donate to non profit organizations that feed children; in lieu of, the money I give to my church to help the poor.
As far as veterans, if they were injured while in combat, they're entitled to a disability check.

Enemployement was around 5% in 06 (when the Reps lost the congress), after that, unemployement doubled, gas shot up to $4/gallon (has come down a bit, but is still way higher than it was in 01 when Bush took office ($1.69/gallon)), construction has nearly halted, housing sales are down 27%. Please tell me, what did the Dems do sooo well?

Sometimes standing by your word (and Clinton's and Gore's word too) is more important. Also, the "stimulous" that only stimulated unemployement cost more than the cost of the war.
