It wasn't a bad call, I mean what hand could he shove with? Any draw or a high card bluff, but never with an overpair, the trips, and very doubtfully with the eight. So Gus probably thought that he either is against an Ace-high or a draw, probably leaning toward the draw, since the guy was a massive chipleader and raising 60% of hands preflop. So think before you judge this "donk" call.

he missplayed the hand preflop, but with this kind of flop and being so short it would be a mistake to fold there. but i really dont get the call pre, as he ll never have enough implied odds to hit his hand vs Ax or high connectors (not even talking about pocket pairs)

There's a lot of smaller connectors in Danny's range, like:

7-9, 7-5, 5-4, and 9-5

T-high beats these smaller connectors.

This is a good call :o) Gus have very low stack againts all others, and cath gut shot and he may thinking, his opponent has AK, AQ? Maximum. Then have still cahce to make double up. But reality was a litle better, then he thought.

Gus seems to love 10 high.He called Esfandiari's all-in on WPT before with T8s and actually won a flip against Esfandiari's 77 lol

when the donks online do this, it's a bad call. But this video does show Hansen's thinking. He obviously puts Danny on a steal given how uncomfortable he looks when Hansen calls preflop

@Carpbag If you know an opponent then even online you can make a call like that. Gus obviously knew that Danny is capable of doing something like that.
