  • Can someone tell me who the blond back up singer is? Thanks

  • I had to listen to this like 4times back to back....my daughter plays the violin and just to hear these strings...so clear...its just beautiful to my soul!!! i must let her hear this she will just LOVE it!!! wow!!

  • OMG!! thank you for posting this!!! i am a huge lover of big band songs...and orchestras..and philharmonics..this band is off the chain!! and yes I'm black and young and I LOVE this song!!!!!!! always did...but hearing this beautiful band in the background is bringing tears to my ears...because they are crystal clear!!! sooooo beautiful!! thank you thank you thank you!!!!!!!!

  • EEn fantastish stukje muziek.bedankt!!!

  • Robin Genio !!!!!!!!!

    Eres el MEJOR !!!!!!!!

Dios quiera que te mejores ...

    José. Alicante. España.

  • some things are just meant to be done in 3's.

  • Why is Robin singing one octave down? I know he can sing easily in the original key.

  • @TheBoonggaboongga

my guess is that he simply can't sing so high now

  • It's a pity he seems unwilling to use his Falsetto range.

  • @tesstink That Falsetto is what I love so much in Robin's voice....it always gave me goosbumps.

  • @BytomGirl

    you probably mean his Vibratto.

  • @comtransbg Yes...thank you! You are right, it's Barry who sings with falsetto...just misspoke...

  • Mannnn....this don't sound right with Robin singing.

  • ROBIN, THE FANTASTICCCCCCCC, VERY GOOOOOOOOOOOOOD

  • ROBIM,IS FANTASTIC, VERY GOOD

  • I have the most tremendous respect for Robin. Usually his voice is 2 octaves higher, if not 3...and that's how it should be.

  • wtf are you talking about, robbin is one of the best singers

  • Rubbish!

  • Great job Robin!! I cried for 3 days when Maurice died.

  • simplemente maravilloso !!!!!!!

  • Robin is a very good singer but singing this one an octave down doesn't work as he probably did a middle harmony on the original. I am not sure though why he would pick this one as there are plenty of other songs that work with him singing lead. But he was one of the writers of this song so why can't he do it if he wants to?

  • Damn, this just does not work without any falsetto vocals... bummer.

  • é de arrepiar........maravilhosooooooooooooooo

  • Grande canzone ma..Robin va per i 60 e si vede.., ma soprattutto la base musicale sembra una vera falegnameria che rovina tutto, per fortuna lui e` sempre bravo! Certo era piu` bello negli `80, Ciao Robin I always loved you Barry and Maurice

  • Essa é uma das mais lindas prá mim!

    I love you Robin!

  • Que arranjo maravilhoso.....muito show

  • PUTA QUE PARIU!!! MAS FALTOU OS 3 JUNTOS...

  • This is odd.

  • I like this performance

  • blow your nose Robin

  • This is the saddest sight I've ever seen. How lost can a soul be on stage with so much going on..?! Too painful to watch.

  • Oh wow......this is really terrible....:(

  • PERFEITO!!!!!!!!!

  • Como é linda a trajetória de Robin!

Vê-lo ainda no palco é simplesmente maravilhoso!

    I love you Robin gibb!

  • Como é lindo ver a tragetória de Robin!

São poucos os que fazem da música, paixão e encantamento.

    Parabéns Robin Gibb,I love you!

  • @anatudes wtf u crazy?!? lol...

robin was always the best singer, his solo's were and are still great.

he sings with such great passion. I won't disagree with you that barry and maurice are great singers too, but robin was always the best.

  • The Bee Gee sound was the harmony between the three. Without that harmony, it's just lacking, and it's just sad to hear just one lone voice. I miss them and I feel so sad for their loss of Maurice. and of course Andy, years back.

It was what it was, for a season, and the season is over. Lovely memories.

  • Ficou sensacional essa versão, maravilhoso.

  • Yuck! I'm sorry he is NOT a good singer! I can uinderstand now why Barry always sang lead! Even Andy, God Rest his soul, would've done a better jOb! I love the

Bee Gees as a group and I have always been a fan, but this was painful to listen to. Sorry.

  • @anatudes

The guy is 61 years old, for God's sake! Do you think that Barry sings fine nowadays? Robin had the most unique voice of the three brothers, if you are a fan, you should know the examples.

  • @comtransbg ..I'm really not sure what age has to do with your ability to sing..(generally speaking of course)....If you can sing you can sing. Age is not a factor, at least it's not for Aretha Franklin, Tina Turner, Steve Perry, Daryl Hall, Tony Bennett,,,,,,and so on and so on,,,,,these artists are over 60 and above and CAN SING! Everyone is entitled to their opinion and so that is mine. Thank you for sharing yours. :)

  • @anatudes Robin has always been painful to listen to. He should've stayed at home and let Barry & Maurice be the BeeGees! He also dances like he's having a seizure on stage & is in no way attractive. He was very brave to stand next to Barry all those years. I suppose he helped write the songs, but all the parts of songs he soloed on were annoying & unnecessary. All he really ever did was interupt Barry's lead.

  • @wp1953

Indeed, "I Started A Joke" is the most annoying & unnecessary song ... :-)

  • @wp1953 how dare you talk about such an artist this way!!!!Sure you don't know much about Robin Gibb to talk this way,so try to be fair and carry on discovering him!!!!

  • who the hell is the blond backround singer???

  • @reineckefuchs1

    Her name is Amalia Georgieva.

  • @comtransbg

wow, thank you so much - it so a wonderful woman ... and her voice is from an angel ...

  • This is so sad not seeing Barry and Maurice, brings a tear to my eyes. Robin did good too, God Bless Bee Gees. If only I could live my life all over, I would but my life is coming to a closed chapter, all of us do.

  • GREAT !!!

  • What kills this song here, it is the back vocals, and the music too loud and heavy, that what kills it, of course, it won't be as the same as the original, like - Bee Gees harmonies in it, but over all, Robin is still sang very good with his own beautiful voice in this song.

  • Comment removed

  • 7 $%"!#$#/. sorry I can not write crying ...

  • Not quite as dynamic without Barry and Maurice, and Andy for that matter. Andy always had the best voice of ALL the Gibb's brothers. Sure, Barry has that strong falsetto voice, but Andy had the best voice overall. Robin needs help without the rest of his clan.

  • I love very much this version.

  • Whoever attempted to put this song together should get fired.

  • si, bonita cancion .. pero realmente los tres hermanos juntos son dinamitas !!! no se separen jamas

  • Robin is more comfortable on stage these days. His voice is still great. Love the different mix with or without Barry and Maurice. Love to see him interviewed. He was always the most quiet Bee Gee. He his smart, interesting and funny.

  • bonita canciòn...

  • What can I say You are the Greatest.God Bless you.

  • without the faucet this song fail

  • I think it's AWESOME to hear Robin stand out...I always wondered who was the beautiful voice in the background on this song LOV BARRY...YES. But what would Barry have been without the rest of the GEES? (Gibbs) I luv it!!! GO ROBIN

  • i think Robin does beautifully on his own. such a sweet melodic voice with or without accompaniment, in fact the less backup the better i say. stay well Robin and thanks for this upload

  • I love this song and robin sounds so great here. robin get better soon, our prays are with you and your family. love, mary

  • Not so much : ( Way too many wrong voices "blended" into this one .

  • @sneezie2 - I totally agreed with you on this one, it is way too much voices of all those backing singers, it is all wrong blended, and made this song out of the line to a wrong path, it totally loss it sensational melody and vibrations, no matter how wonderful this song is, it just doesn't work like this, Robin is a very good singer, but he in this song, he was kind of loss a little I would say, even though, I am a big fan of him

  • Robin didn't need all these backing singers only Barry by his side, and poor Maurice is greatly missed.

  • ROBIN GIBB - THE MASTER OF THE BALLAD . . . .

  • Great song and well performed. I think Robin has a superb voice. Was this on tour recently?

  • the music in the background is awsome!

  • dont understand the octive lower. robins clearly able to hit those notes. puzzling.

  • @shmoeburger76

    you're right

but I think it's pretty good

  • @shmoeburger76 It annoys me how after the Bee Gees split he started singing everything in lower keys. I'm sure he can still hit those notes. Also he hardly ever uses his famous vibrato these days and in the last few years or so has adopted a completely different accent when he sings. Like you say...puzzling!

  • Yo estuve en un concierto de Robin en la Ciudad de México, es un artista de verdad, un genio, con una voz maravillosa.

  • Love his style...

  • robin uno de mis grandes pero grandes amigos te mando un saludo

atte fernando santander EX DJ STUDIO 54 NYC

  • I love Robin's vocals on this song, he sounds great. And yeah the blong chick should try a little less eye shadow.

  • Ok, what's with the blonde chick with the funky teeth? Why do they keep showing her? She's scary! And she is hurting my eyeeeeezzzzz!

  • sensacional, genial y una pasada para mis oidos

  • Robin Gibb has a great voice. Sure he sounds great with Barry, but definitely can stand alone.

  • I believe the song is a good copy of one of the bee gees but like what other fans have been saying it's not like Barry was singing along side of him. I feel Barry makes a good part of the whole group.

  • i see this video all the time. day by day. and i cant stop to wisper. I LOVE YOU ROBIN GIBB!!!!

  • I LOVE YOU ROBIN!

  • answer to the comments below- Oh that's not true.. i like him so much and loved the way he sings, i loved him in all ways and like his voice very much.

  • Sorry, I disagree. Robin is good but does absolutely nothing for me without Barry. I have no desire to listen to him and I love the Bee Gees. Have followed them since the 70's. Liked them better than the Beatles but can't take Robin by himself. Sorry Robin, for my listening pleasure, you just don't have it without Barry.

  • So you wouldn't want to listen to a solo version of I Started A Joke because it doesn't have Barry on guitar?

    Odd.

  • I'll go back and listen to some more and then give you my opinion again, for whatever that's worh. I like to be fair.

  • @LukeShoveller He sucks even worse on this song and I didn't think that was possible!out of tune flat singing bitch! Damn if it wasn't for an orchestra and background singers this would be completely unbearable! I hope he refunded everyone's money for this shite! Can u imagine Saturday Night fever album being done with just robins vocals? They would have sold one album! Baby you and I can sell One, One!

  • With Robin's '70s falsetto, you could quite easily, in fact many of the leads Barry sang were double leads with Robin. (Fanny Be Tender, How Deep, Tradegy)

I love barry, I think he's great, Ithink Robin is great, I think Maurice is great, why are you being such a horrible person?

  • And I suggest you listen to performances during this gig and performances after this gig and performances before this gig.

Outline what your vendetta is, and please speak constructively for the love of God, it hurts my eyes.

  • Is that all you can say for yourself! I can't help your tone deaf!

  • watch?v=SZRZCPy3aeg

  • @LukeShoveller "watch?v=SZRZCPy3aeg"

cheers for that link, good stuff :)

  • No problem! :)

  • tell the truth great song but he

    murdered it

  • Robin is my favorite & this song is just great!!! I've seen the Bee Gees twice & shook hands with Maurice & I can say THEY are my favorite BAND od all time...

they are & always will be ONLY 1 great group!!! But don't get me wrong I luv ALL the great groups including...Beatles-Tommy James & Shondells & Stones & Herman's Hermits etc...Luv u Robin & THE BEE GEES!!! :) And ALL fans!!!

  • It is AWESOME song and I LOVE it. Thanks for upload ♥♥♥♥♥

  • i am the biggest bee gee faqn i love this song i jusgt wish his bros were there thanks 4 posting it genna

  • wow man! he is amazing. got no words to dscribe him

  • o cara é d+

  • Very nice! Robin does an awesome job in his own style.

  • Comment removed

  • maravilhoso ,esse cara é muito bom !!!!!

  • he needs his bros bad

  • you are right. they belong together.****

  • amo a robin gibbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb! lo amoooooooooooooooooooo!

  • Sorry but the beatles and the bee gees aren't related in their music, both are awesome in their own way, and you can't say they are each other either australian or english. now if they were doing each others music then you could say that

  • OMG THEY ARE ALL ENGLISH!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I have attemped to reply to this comment 3 times but my connection failed each time!

Anyway, The Bee Gees and Beatles are massively related in terms of music, I suggest you listen to the first decade of thier catalogue to realise why those in the know often view them as successors to the Beatles.

The Bee Gees were one of the most unique bands in history, both vocally and with thier songwriting, but it is something you have to witness yourself, so have a listen to Horizontal, Odessa and First.

  • The Bee Gees aren't the "Australian Beatles", The Beatles are "The English Bee Gees".

  • Comment removed

  • Robin is great, but without Barry who has always been the force and the heart and soul of the Bee Gee's is quite not the same, but not bad, there were awesome when they was all three together. One of my favorite groups of all time.

  • @rdgjun It's so strange you said it this way...Barry being the heart and soul of the Bee Gees, when HE said it was Maurice. I think the three of them together shared a heart and soul, and ithout the three of them together, that heart and soul is incomplete. I still love Robin and Barry, and if they were to release a new CD tomorrow, I'd buy it without a second thought of what it may sound like.

  • @rdgjun I agree with everything you say. Shows what a big hole needed filling with all the backing singers, without the Brothers there, Still, a great big band sound. The extra strings(Violins) made it more dramatic. B x

  • @rdgjun A very excellent point. Robin has an amazing voice, but look at what he has to do to make up for not having Barry. He has to have an entire orchestra.

  • @rdgjun

    Yes, genau so ist es.

I was in a Concert from him in 2010.

He is a Shadow from the Bee Gees, he is a great singer, but he is alone not "the Bee Gees".

    Greatings from Germany.

  • THIS IS THE BEST

  • great

  • he tours solo now? he did put out a few solo records

  • :O !!!!!!!!!!! esto ya es mucho T_T =')

  • By the mid 1970s Cheryl Gray had changed her name to Samantha Sang, (under the guidance of then manager Robert Stigwood) and had moved to the United States where she renewed her acquaintance with the Bee Gees. The Gibb brothers wrote another song for her, which coincided with their huge level of popularity, and the single "Emotion" (with back-up vocals by the Bee Gees) became a major hit worldwide. It reached number 3 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 in 1978, and earned her a platinum record.

  • Sort of an embarassment for an otherwise great singer... this is the single most OVERPRODUCED song i have ever heard.

  • What version are you referring to when you say its overproduced? ;)

This song doesn't suit Robin's voice, thats right.

  • When i say "overproduced', I mean far too many musicians, sounds, overdubs, background vocals, things going on around the stage, etc. You can hardly hear his voice... too much other nonsense going on around the vocal. An embarassment. I think this is Robin Gibb's lowpoint.

  • Its poorly mixed, the levels aren't right and certain instruments aren't low enoughi n the mix than they should be (like the drums) its more under produced than over produced.

Its not a lowpoint, just a mediocre performance; if you watch To Love Somebody from this same concert, you'd regard it as a high point; as its one of his best songs to sing solo.

Just search 'Robin Gibb - To Love Somebody' and you'll get that version and a deep, beautifully mixed version from last year.

  • ele num era careca?

  • Robin, please sing songs that fit to you and not songs that fit to the Bee Gees! Or sing singles that you sang. You have a beautiful voice and should show it too but it isn't being shown.

  • Not a bad performance, but I think Robin has a much better voice than he is showing here. And yet again the band is much too loud...

  • e vi esse show aki no Brasil.....mto foda!!!!! robin the best....

  • Just a very bad version.

  • Well you have to remember it has been a long time since he sang this song with his Bee Gees group members. He is old now so as singers get older, their voice changes and it is harder to keep up. I also blame the background music that's making the song sound bad in this video.

  • RObin never sang this song with the Bee Gees, they recorded a version in 1994 that wasn't released until 2001, that was it.;)

Check the To Love Somebody performance for a perfect showcase of his voice. (and you are right, the background mix on this is dodgy, the lead vocal isn't pushed forward enough either, which would usually be done in mixing)

  • nastrojowa piosenka robin wykonal ja perfekt przyjemnie sluchac

  • Wow! Robin you are so cool!!

  • Just Great!

i like this song with Barry`s voice more but Robin does it great too!! & the orchestra is AMAZING!

  • Nobody left in this world to... Play the song you Fing Zombie wierdo!

The weird one left to try to recreate it, LOL...

  • .....sorry?

Barry and Robin sang lead on the 1994 version, they both sing it, he starts concerts with this because its a nice long intro, I fail to see how he's weird.

  • Que isso kkkk

    ↓↓↓

  • 真是動聽!

  • Fantastico Robin!!!!

(obiettivamente :)

  • robin thought he's the man trying to sing this song lol.. leave the lead singing to barry, cause if you don't your just going to butcher great bee gee song...

  • Why not pick songs he could actually perform well live???

  • Does Robin need money or something? This is awful. Man he misses Barry and Maurice.

  • Robin is minted.;)

He and Barry are filming a documentry this year, Robin did this little comeback tour in 2004, give him a break, he sounds great, other people like it, this was the song he left out of his live CD though, try my video from October.

He does choose songs he can perform well live, look at his set lists, he always starts concerts with Emotion.

His website has clips of Holiday and New York Mining Disaster from 2007, very, very good, if you're really interested.

  • I am seriously anoyed with the #$!#$%#% that mixed this show. Had it been mixed correctly, and Robin's voice would have been much better represented. Robing has always had an incredible voice, this was a disaster that could have been prevented; I hope that he fired every one involed with this show.

  • Exactly.

The bloody drums are way too loud and its really annoying because Robin sounds great, but you couldn't hear him, the lead vocal wasn't pushed forward properly, must have been a drunk engineer..

  • This is a really terrible arrangement.

  • There's a slightly dodgy mix..;)

  • waw..astig..

    :)

  • I really like this version...

  • His voice is just great!

  • i agree with jao8085, robin can't carry the bee gee. he need to stop cause he is embarrassing them.

  • He's working, doing what he loves, and he does it brilliantly, come on, the majority of people who follow him everywhere will disagree with you.

Barry is performing on his in February and Robin should be allowed to as well, he sings beautifully, this is fine even though it doesn't suit him, but he does really well, he's got a brilliant record coming out for charity this winter, that vibrato is incredible as ever, some evidence here watch?v=Vz-2B5Kpqpg , what is wrong with that?

  • i know your not deaf, so please listen to him carefully and find it in your heart to judge his voice accordingly. if he was to perform in front of simon on american idol, robin will get shredded apart and you can take that to the bank. lol

  • Emotion doesn't suit his voice but he sings it very well considering it isn't his song at all.

He'd blast away judges on American Idol singing one of his, christ, go listen to some Bee Gees records now, and don't comment without doing that because you're showing ignorance and you'll realise you're mistake soon enough.

Start with I Started a Joke and 'And The Sun Will Shine', Love Never Dies and go on from there realising what you are missing.

  • Example... watch?v=z7dn-QFNeNc

I don't trust you actually go and listen but I hope you do.

  • he is the one i am thinking of tonight

  • its his song!

  • Let's face it, Robin can hold a performance and a crowd solo. That in itself is something. We could be bias in our preferences especially where art is concerned. For me Robin is the best of the Bee Gees.

  • But he still looks good without it, one of the few famous people who can pull it off.:)

  • who are filipinos here

  • i missed his beautiful curly sassy long hair of robin

  • Correction:although I agree that Emotion

  • I think many people will disagree with Robin's voice being monotonous, although that Emotion isn't the best song for his type of singing, and he'll probably agree with that.

Considering this song was written for a woman I think Robin does it justice with the range, perhaps he could try a more vibratoish version to make it more exciting if you like.

But this was an encore performance I believe so I think we can let him off.:)

  • Let's be honest - even though I love many versions of this song Robin kind of destroyed this version. This song was written for the falsetto of Barry. The orchestra is incredible though. In fact it seems like the orchestra has the great energy ready to bust out but Robin with his monotonous voice just puts everyone to sleep.

  • if u didnt like it.. then go to sleep..

    this SHIT ROCKS :D:D:D:D:D

  • Be fair, if you think of Robin you don't think of the song Emotions, his voice is incredible and this song doesn't have any long notes that suit him in any way shape or form, yet magically, he sings it very well, and if there is someone who can do karaoke this well and softly needs a medal, no one can do an impression of Robin singing this and that is an achievement in itself.;)

This song wasn't released on CD and it was a bonus on the DVD so I'm sure he doesn't rate it as his personal favourite

  • I wish I could sing in a karaoke as good as robin does in this song :)

  • wikkid tune...i was just wonderin' does he wear a topey?

  • I think Robin looks good bald you know.

  • why? for me no because it is neat with hair

  • This music is beautiful!!

    I love Be gees...

    Congratulations!!!

  • when will someone tell him it is okay to be going bald. He hair piece just looks so bad. I like this version.

  • Why wasn't this on the live CD!!!!

  • Very Nice!

  • Robin does have a great voice, but this is not his song, he is too harsh, it is a soft sounding ballad. When the Bee Gees decided who would sing lead on the songs they had written, they were usually right on the money.

  • You are so right! You just cannot beat the man!

Besides being gorgeous, he has a piercing voice that goes right thru to your soul!!!! The best!

  • the music is just too loud.. robin's the only one who's hearing his voice. it's like farting on a crowded place. but never the less, it's still a great show.
