John broke up the band, not Yoko. Yoko was like his prank on the rest of them. Don't blame her. However, George was probably the one who wanted out the most. For John, it was very simple. The Beatles was like school. At some point you want to graduate and move on, not live in the frat house until you're 80. They all still loved each other. It was not a nasty band breakup like was typical in future rock bands. Their relationship was brotherly -- you can't really break that up.

For the record. Yoko did NOT split The Beatles. It was the decision to go with John Eastman as Business Manager or Allen Klein. McCartney wanted his in-laws the Eastmans and the other 3 Beatles wanted Klein and signed him. McCartney wanting nothing whatsoever to do with Klein had only one choice to get out of it. He had to sue The Beatles, who were contractually bound together till 1974.

Just so simple, so beautiful. Nothing compares to the genius of this man, I would love to have met him. I am a fan for about forty years or so now, just thinking of how young he was to have been shot down.

I am also and will always be very annoyed at Yoko I think she has an incredibly hard neck, we all know who was the creative one and we all know she was nothing before him and nothing since. I wish she would just go and live off her own creativity and share John's with all of his family.

As an "old fart" who watched the Beatles come to America, and the Pilgrims arrive (lol) here, I remember the first time I heard this song. It was the point at which I was willing to forgive Yoko for what I thought was the demise of the Beatles (as so many did). This song showed me a lucid and straight-shooting "John" who was deeply in love with her. Once I came to terms with that, I forgave her. (Not that she can sing, because she can't..........lol).
