@dev21012 lol if nvidia can keep the power levels down what i have read their 28nm gpu . also the power levels on the 7970 is very efficent only 300watts on load and could easily run two on my thermaltake touphpower 875watt plus 80 bronze ;) which nvidia cant do even on the 580's in sli

@aeminence I think that is a little extreme. Half a year from now will it be one of the fastest cards available? Maybe but probably not. But it will definitely still be very fast relative to the new cards. The GTX 295 is still considered a reasonably good card and it is almost 3 years old.

@techcrazyguy You do know that all the GTX 590's are under-clocked right? Don't get me wrong I love Nvidia but until they release an unlocked version where the clocks aren't scaled back I don't think it's worth the price tag.

@tig2123 I would just get the HD6990 you could even get crossfire(SLI) with it if you want, Radeon hasn't scaled back the performance much in their new cards. That being said Nvidia cards are built like tanks, I've had multiple cards and only once have I had issues.

Nvidia are getting closer to releasing their 600 series cards. I am going to play the waiting game. From info I have gathered the 660 would sound ideal to me. Doesnt use much power and on a real nice GPU core without going for the major expensive to buy and to run very top end cards. I think we will see the 600 series coming out Q1 2012. I think they want to sell as many 400/500 series cards before they release the 600 series.

@Domzdream I think BFG died, But I have ALOT of video cards ranging from ati's 3870-5870 and NVIDIAS 8800 GTX to the 590, But the GTX 590 definitley has it's flaws vs the 6990, BFG ehh think of it this way : the 590 smokes EVERY other single PCB card EXCEPT the 6990 making it the SECOND most power card but it's definitley more buttoned down more than the 6990 and my friends complain of micro stuttering issues from the 6990, it practically smokes every other card though. I got the EVGA 590 btw =)
