I got the space shuttle set 2 Christmases ago. It was used and disassembled and I never really built it because I didn't like the way it looked. But the parts were very useful. Now I got the new unimog set and I think studless design looks a lot better than studded design
And then... I stopped buying cause of this Studless-Era :(
But I'm gonna buy 1990 Control Centre (although I've already all main parts ^^) and the 1992 Airtech Claw Rig (I've already all important parts too ;)).
Btw I was born in 1989 and got my first Lego Technic Set at the age of three... a black Motocross-Bike and later on some more :D good times...
@lorirocks777 my favourite is still the 96'Space-Shuttle because of the memories associated (christmas 96 - I was 7 years old and built it up myself). But I like as well my Supercar and the Control Center II very much.
Next week I get the 92' Claw-Rig and the 90' Control-Center-I because I absolutely love them too. Concerning my own creations I often use my 3 RCX :) I bought the NXT as well from ricardo but sold it one week later. Everything is huge and studless :( So I stay with my old RCX's:)
lego lost its essential after 2000 like everything else did , what was wrong with the good old classic parts . Long Technic square bricks with holes for example. Nowadays you are only able to attach an other brick by the sides ,and not on all 4 sides that use to be standard.. Downgraded crap!.. Ugly body kits thats not Lego sucks too..
i have the black supercar (8880) from 1994 :) i got it in the same year :D this christmas i bulit it again xD it's on my shelf :) nice car... and u got a nice collection ;D
My dad has the '92 truck, '94 car, '05 crane, '06 truck, '07 bulldozer and the '09 truck. He also has a modern 4x4, not the '01 4x4. The '94 car is the best. :)
I think my first one was the 8225 go kart from 1995... I got that one in 1997 or so... then I got the 8459 back end loader and a few years later the 8480 spaceshuttle. Then no models for a long time... and then last year I got really into lego again and started buying heaps of models of ebay... lol
But "flagship" models come out in the second half of the year.... 8297 came out around March of 2008... and has less pieces than 8295, which came out in October of 2008.
Why would the main model have less pieces than another model? 8295 is the first model ever to have a linear actuator, I think it's the "flagship" model.
I disagree with you, 8297 start at august not march and it has full PF functions and new PF light and switch.
Everywhere is 8297 marked as flagship and is the most expensive of all 2008 technic sets.On lego technic designer bios says the 8297 is biggest product this fall...
8297 has a higher set number, a higher price and a motor. Whilst I do find it strange that it does not have the highest peice count for the year I still think it to be the flag ship of the year. Besides there is a crappy trend for true flagships to only come along every two years now, 2008 being a "filler" year.

I don´t like the `new` lego without studs. I have many big lego sets of the old era.. and won´t buy any new lego
