This song is just so right! subtle and understated, slow and sensual, great arrangement and lyrics, natural singing with feeling- not trying to sound Black or American. My only 'criticism'- it sounds like B.B. King on guitar, but that's not such a bad thing! I may work up the courage to sing it to my GF...
How many of the bands today can actually play instruments? The Monkees were vilified as they did not play on their early records. Who can play have as well as this nowadays?
sorry, dunno HOW to werk these blimmin confusers thingummy gizmorators, crikey, wossachap ter DO, eh? WOT/ yes they wer jolly good- we were all growin those moustachios, seein whose wos longist ! Sneeky Pete and th Vipers still have a sense of HUMOUR pip pip, all !

First met'm back stage in Bath, after a gig, bout '68, and they came back for a drink. Went to Yeovil tech, art dept. and hitched to see Duster Bennett, one man blues band, always with 'em. Nic Mattey,Clare Ridgeway an I were in th dance band committee@ tech, an they said, as we went to see em SO much , they'd do th gig fr 300 squid. one of th las gigs ol wossisname, Jeremy Spencer did ! They were great, we printed TWICE as many tickets as we were allowed, an made a BOMB fr Y.tech band fund.

good comment from jaffabend, it would be great to have a vibrant music culture again in britain.we have played in blues bands for years now and the scene isn't getting any better, sadly , but if you like peter green , as we all do, check out the abb blues band and hope you enjoy. thankyou.
All is not lost. These now famous bands all started off playing in pubs and small clubs. Put pressure on your local pubs, clubs and diners to engage new bands and then GO and see them. Most older folk (like myself) would play for free (passing around the hat for beer money) just to get somewhere to play. Sure there will be some rubbish players (erm, probably me again), but there will be others that stand out and become the bands you want to see and buy their music. Pass the word around.
@bluesheavy. too true man. mr cowel and his corperate friends have single handedly ripped the back out of the music industry. It is simply the end of any future classic musicians, because these days artists are chosen for their looks and commercial saleability, talent isn`t even a FACTOR anymore. keep on keeping on man.................long live real rock n roll. AND SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL BANDS.
They dubbed the record over this video when they could have just recorded what they were playing. I'm sure Peter was unhappy about the phony deception of overdubbing a performance.
Its amazing how music like this can't continue.. The music industy of today with American Idol and all the bullshit that comes with it has destoryed the music industry. I was too young to understand but I would love to go back and see bands like Cream, Peter Greens Fleetwood Mac, Jeff Beck Truth, Hendix, Ten years After,
@BluesHeavy I see what you are saying man, but it is neither right nor valid for you to say that american idol is bullshit. I has not destroyed music. Dont get me wrong, i live off of this music and the musicians you mentioned. American idol contestant winners often have great talents, they simply have no background of this music. I am 16 and live off rock and roll, i understand that music has changed but i know for a fat that rock will never die.
What's disturbing after watching countless episodes of "Nevermind The Buzzcocks" on Youtube, is that the UK is "almost" as shallow as the US pop industry. In the late 90's, the UK had Super Furry Animals, and Supergrass at the peak of their powers. Instead of promoting the best music product you had since Pink Floyd, glam rock, and the Beatles et.all (first Brit invasion) you promote boy, and girl bands that have the shelf life of a slug under salt. No wonder Supergrass failed.
@strangeones4 If the internet never existed, there would be no knowledge of Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac except to a few lucky souls who are now over 65 and saw them at the Fillmore East, with other ballroom circuits. This is where the old fight back against the shallow and silly pop music!!
@BluesHeavy God, you're so god damned ignorant. I get so constantly annoyed by nostalgists like you who come to YouTube videos and troll about how bad today's music industry is without actually taking a look around themselves and seeing what wonderful talent they have access to.
@SabbraCadabra Thanks for the heads up I wasn't sure if I was being ignorant. Your right there is great music coming out of Nashville, but I doubt that is what you were referring to. Here is the difference since you arent aware. Back in the 60's and 70's you can go to a bar in the village and see Hendrix rocking out with Steve Winwood or Albert king with Janis Joplin. 75% of today'a singers hide behind studio tricks look at the Black Eyed peas at the Super Bowl how great did they sound live.
@BluesHeavy Yes, because the Black Eyed Peas represent the whole of music today. There are plenty of great bands out there that don't play particularly large venues. Ever heard of Los Lonely Boys?
@SabbraCadabra Didnt say they represent the whole but they do represent a large portion and if you can honestly say the music industry is better now than it was 40 years ago you are crazy. like many aspects of our lives big corps and lawyers have taken the human element out of what should be something enjoyable something to take our minds off the everyday shit and inspire and move us. Where is that element in the majority of todays music. Why are all these bands still so relavent after 40 years.
@BluesHeavy Oh give me a break. Record companies controlled the music business back in the 60's every bit as much as they do now, if not more. The only way to be heard back in the 60's was if you were a part of a big record label. You don't need that now, with independent labels and social networks that give younger bands time in the spotlight without needing to sell out arenas.
@SabbraCadabra Also I would say your coment is crap I listen to plenty of new bands I always give music a shot unfortunatley these good bands aren't the norm and they arent front page material. I love Youtube and sites like this might actually help the music business it might bring back the sharing of music in its purest forms without the hand of big business coloring it.
I really do like this song but I wish there was more of that lovely guitar in it. There is just the solo at the beginning and at the end its such a shame he didnt use more call and response fills during the song instead of those strings.
On the Blue Horizon box set, there is a version of this with Christine Perfect (later McVie) on piano instead of strings. There's also another version with Christine playing organ which is my favorite.

and love you, man, for posting it.
