Pursuit mode did catch on, as it was in the PSP game Burnout Legends, which was surprisingly good. I'd suggest it over this game because it's got many of the tracks from the first three Burnouts, tons of modes, multiplayer, no Avril Leveign, and it's portable! Don't use the nub though!

Pursuit mode was brought back to Burnout Legends on the PSP but that was the most recent game with it and it's fairly dated now.
