  • As I was growing up this song was on my Dad's favorite Christmas album. That album was the soundtrack of our family's holidays. Dad's gone now but when I hear Jim Reeves I am flooded with sentimentality and a lifetime of wonderful Christmas memories. Oh, and Dad's birthday was December 25. So thank you for posting this, and Happy Birthday, Dad.

  • Jim Was a real Country Gentlmen.GARY V.

  • this time is very nostalgic..takes me thirty years back and I see myself playing around with the voice of Jim Reeves in the background..what a beautiful Christmas!

I know all the lyrics and every song of him brings tears to my eyes.......No singer can replace you...and IMMORTAL you remain....

  • Oh my, I never knew he was already dead. You know, I was born on 1994 and I was raised listening to his christmas songs every christmas holidays, until 4th grade. And now, everytime i listen to his songs, it brings back a lot of my childhood memories before we moved in to our new house far, far away from the place i used to grow up.

  • @Raymondpastoral He died in 1964 plane crash

  • @Choefoe that's so sad to hear... anyway, thanks for the information!

  • Jim Reeves was without question one of the greatest singers who ever lived! Too bad that I was only 9 years old when he passed away. But I now own most everything that he ever recorded in original vinyl format.....

  • Jim Reeves always the best at christmas times

  • I had the pleasure of meeting Jim's Mother in her golden years. She lived with my Parents for a few months. What a Precious Woman of God.

  • love tis version

  • I remember listening to this at my grandma's :)

  • I wish Elvis had recorded "But you love me Daddy" He did record 'I'm beginning to forget you', 'Make the world go away' and 'He'll have to go' which is the last studio recorded song of Elvis. Elvis's roots are country, he had Billboard Country #1 Hits long before he became a sensation with 'Heartbreak Hotel'. RIP Jim~RIP Elvis.

  • Jim Reeves is the best in Christmas Songs.

  • I love all of Jim Reeves' music but his christmas album has always been very special to me.

We live in a hilly and green place where one can see full of green trees. Our town population is not much.Especially during winter my dad opened all windows and used to play this song(Jim revees songs).Seeing winter fog engulfing the hill with Jim revees song is everlasting in our mind.

  • Brings a tear to my eye

  • why??

  • gentleman jim you was great one of the best

  • I agree....brings beautiful memories....

  • hey!! my xmas becomes better after hearing this song

  • great song for Christmas time

  • a lovely girl whose name I now forget, gave us her Jim Reeves Christmas Albumn our first year in NZ for Christmas. I have played it every Christmas for the next 37 years. I wonder where she is now..

  • The first version of this song that was popular was Ernest Tubb's version, in 1949. I think you can find it on You Tube.

  • I'm pretty sure that Elvis Presley's version of this song was the popular one, and I can understand if others prefer it. Many--perhaps most people--may be unaware that anyone besides Presley recorded it.

But as far as I'm concerned, Jim Reeves' version of 'Blue Christmas' is the most beautiful.

  • Elvis's version is nice but I prefer Jim Reeves version hands down.

  • I totally agree! Jim Reeves was truly a Gentleman and a great voice! We lost this man way, way too early!

  • simply beautiful..wonderful childhood memories

    xx

  • Beautiful song!Makes me cry.Don't know why!X
