Is it just only me, that I notice during the 70s and 90s anime, it often deals with robots and super heroes, while the 2000 and beyond is mostly about Harem anime & slice-of-life girl shows (as if they were all geared towards preteen girls and otakus obsessed with young girls).
I mean no harm, but I can't help thinking about it. Just look what type of anime are often produced these days.
Haha, funny that Japanese kids from the 70's-80's were into mostly similar things that kids from the 70's-80's U.S. were into. Robots, super hero's that kicked ass and exploded shit, etc. Childhood!
Thanks alot for uploading these I really appreciate it. ^__^ Seeing theyre animes and knowing when they aired gives me a good feeling to know that theyre bringing back hero's from way back in the day. Id sure like to see more of that ya know? ;)
hey on 0:40 they removed a part from polimars super drill tank instead of just turning to the drill tank he grabs you and takes you to the wall and then turns into the drill tank and hits you
makes ya wonder how on earth did cartoons evolve from that to nowadays....
Well, ya gotta see that, this is all from ninteen-ninety-I-don't-know-how-many, probably decades ago. Though, i still remember G-Force. Can't remember wich channel they aired here......Was it Locomotion Channel?..hmmm...nah...I'll check on it later
Anybody else beside me knew about any of these Tatsunoko anime titles before the game? I love me some Gatchaman! And what's wrong with people being inspired by other people, especially when those inspired very openly tell of their admiration of the people who inspired them? DIsney inspired not only Japanese studios, but prominent Canadian, French, German, British, and Russian animation studios as well. Wrong's world if the world wants to admire our homeboy Walt Disney? Art is universal!
Old anime style wasn't that much diffrent from the US cartoons style seen in the 80's.....I wonder how it developed in to Big eyes, crazy hair & over sized assests on women..lol...would love to see more of the old Tatsunoko stuff released on DVD stateside...even if it would be sub only...bring Yatterman to hte US somebody! lol!
So Walt Disney inspired other artists on an international scale--so what's wrong with that? The legendary anime artists, like the "Godfather of Anime" Osamu Tezuka himself, very openly told that they were very inspired by the animation pioneer that was Walt Disney. There are also many French, British and German animators that drew major inspiration from Walt Disney through the decades. As an aspiring animator myself, I love them both! Anime HONORS Disney!
i dont know the japanese name but they used to have the G-Force anime in usa... and i only remember the leader's name was Ace, and the 2nd in command was Dirt or Dirk i think ...and Ace was an orphan because Galactor killed his father who was a pilot for some jet ....anyone want to help me out on the details? ..it used to be my favorite Anime show when i was a little kid
@protoman500 Jun The Swan is the female she was the third in command then it was Peewee and then Tiny The oringinal was called Gattchaman, but it was also called Battle of the Planets here in the US
@ Peter200000000007 - Oh...wasnt Battle of the Planets are more cheesy and corny version of G-Force?..i remember one show where Galactor was some evil genius character and another where they portrayed him as a silly "joker in the kings court" kinda guy ....
Battle of the planets was the first american adaptation of the series. The Gatchman series was lightyears ahead of its time, but due to the violent nature of the series it was edited for u.s. content. Ken the eagle was mark, joe the condor was Jason, Jun the swan was Princess, Jinpei the swallow was Keyop, and Ryu was Tiny.. i could not stand the G Force adaptation becausethe voice acting and name changes were corny and too syrupy to me, even moreso than BoTP.
@jamaynex - Oh ok...G-Force and BoTP were both an adaptation of Batchman? ...one was more serious (G-Force) and the other was more silly (BoTP) ? ...if i remember right
to be honest, even though G force was more faithful to the original anime (most of the violence was left in due to this adaptation being done in 86' instead of 78' and the eighties being alot relaxed on violence) the voice acting and the music in nBoTP still left me those memories closest to the original.. g force changed the music too much and had it feel like something else, even though we were watching the same thing as BoTP and Gatchaman.
Im sorry but Gold Lightan is probably the most ridiculous anime/video game character ive ever seen. He sits there and screams with his high pitched Japanese voice through most of the fights in TvC. I mean come on, he looks like a golden refrigerator with arms, legs, and a head
@pspgameboy1989 There were so many, I don't remember which one, but I remember it going something like "Something really cool on YouTube is someone was posting the original Tatsunoko openings." I'm not kidding. It was with a rather unheard of site though...
Japan had no ideo who Marvel was for Marvel vs Capcom, so it's fair that the US doesn't know who Tatsunoko is for Tatsunoko vs Capcom. (73 days left!!!)
@NYCPulpHero and tatsunoko had published in America with things like speed racer and samurai pizza cats. doesnt mean anyone had any idea who tatsunoko was.
@penguinpanda0 That's not true. Marvel had been pretty vested in Japanese entertainment. They made the live-action toku Spider-Man, Captain America pretty much inspired their Super Sentai (Power Rangers in the US) team Battle Fever J and X-Men was dubbed in Japan. Japan probably knew more about Marvel then we ever did with Tatsunoko. Just saying.
listen children, some of these shows still go on in japan, thats why theyre in this.
who cares if you dont know who they are, it wasnt made for americans. if it was intended for US then we'd have Optimus prime and the thundercats vs Ryu. its pretty much the same.

Maybe, but the thing is, a little introduction or history about those Tatsunoko characters for the newcomers or the people from the 90s and 2000 would help. Capcom can do what they want with their characters, because they give a brief story about each one and refresh it in time, unlike those 60s and 70s heroes in spandex and motorcycle helmets, ¿who is Yatterman, some kind of Rocket Team device to catch Pikachu?.
Well y'know, there is a thing called Wikipedia. I'm pretty sure it has everything you need to know about Tatsunoko.
Also I'd like to point out, who really cares if they don't know who the Tatsunoko characters are. If the previous VS Capcom titles have proven anything, it'll still be a fun solid fighter.
Oh and it's not like some of the Capcom cast is all that recognizable either. Unless you can tell me one person who played that quiz whatever game that Saki chick is from.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Wikipedia is an easy solution, its like i NEED to search there first to play it, may be a good fighter but without information, like what superpowers they have or some history.
Its like "i dont wanna play with those Tatsunoko dudes, male white people with makeup in tight and colorful suits with no superpowers and child-like weapons, i prefer Ryu, at least i know him and his awesome powers"
There are some limits for the surprise factor in videogames.
No one knew who Mario was when he first came. Oh well, I guess no one played his games because they didn't know, right? Besides, who the hell ever wanted to play as some dopey plumber?/sarcasm
The thing is, the game was originally supposed to be Japan exclusive, where the people there KNEW who they were and didn't need info.
Anyways, it's nice to see what these characters had going for them. I honestly think that most of these intros are better than the intros we get today. :D
@Martialart07 Why, cuz my head is in this century, and not in 1950 or whenever those Tatsu-something are? because i'm from a generation that grew up watching better stuff with better non-repetitive heroes (or is some dude with spandex and ninja stars or is some giant lunchbox, i mean, robot, EVERY SINGLE SHOW of Tatsu-that is about)?
This game is like a mix between Super Smash Bros and Kingdom Hearts, a desperate attemp to get attention on the oldies.
@Martialart07 HEROES?! firefighters are heroes, a cop who rescues a child from a kidnapper IS a hero, a fictional character from a TV show ISN'T a hero, is just recreation for merchandising.
@Martialart07 The thing with fictional heroes is the message they give, you know the case of the boy who broke his arm cuz he though he could fly like Superman? or the spanish dude who killed his family imitating some Final Fantasy character? unlike real heroes, fictional gives the right message in a wrong way, the "heroic luck" is putting a lot of kids on hospitals, specially in Japan with all their heroes with sharp and dangerous merchandise.
I have a little question is Tekkaman Knight series related to the newer Tekkaman Blade series? I just need to know considering their character designs seems so similar. Thank you!
wait what? I never knew that G force was from the 70s, i grew up with this cartoons and im only 19 years old...wow, my country was very cheap on the cartoons they could afford XD im still grateful for such memories though.
and for Tatsunoko they should add EVA 01, or Shinji from Evangelion (I want to punch him so badly!) or maybe Go Mifune/Speed Racer (Because I want to run over Shinji or Alex with the Mach 5). As for Capcom, either Strider or another Megaman character, maybe Battle Network's Protoman because he's pretty cool looking, and would be great if Strider and Protoman could fight each other.
Oh, it is is it? I didn't know that, I'm not much of an EVA fan, I just like the opening and want Shinji in a game so I can see him get his ass kicked.
God, I hope Tessa isn't in the US release... she was horrible in SvC, but that might be the god-awful KoF engine at fault there. She wasn't that good in Gem Fighters either, and I haven't played Red Earth yet.
Well Yami Yugi would be using the powers of the Shadow Games in his hyper combos while Kaiba would be using his duel monsters and unleashing all three of his blue eyes white dragons for his hyper combo.
It's been a while since I watched Yu-Gi-Oh so I'm not sure what kind of powers Yugi could use in a fighting game like this. I think there are far better character choices.
:41 .....is that one of his speicals? I've never seen it in the actual game. Well the drill part i saw, but not the part where he pushes you toward a wall then drill.
PEGAS TEK SETTER!

GUYS LISTEN TO THIS
THEY Want to add 5 new characters for US? Well i have three perfect ones right here
Dante (most likely DMC1 cause he's the youngest)
he would be a Perfect addition to this game
Proto man From the classic Mega Mans/ He would need to be refined to look more like the mega man they have.
Alastor From viewtiful Joe. He would complement Joe, so he doesn't have to fight alone.
I think these would be so awesome. I am serious about this. I'll put every where if i have to
Hannib25 2 years ago
and for Tatsunoko they should add EVA 01, or Shinji from Evangelion (I want to punch him so badly!) or maybe Go Mifune/Speed Racer (Because I want to run over Shinji or Alex with the Mach 5). As for Capcom, either Strider or another Megaman character, maybe Battle Network's Protoman because he's pretty cool looking, and would be great if Strider and Protoman could fight each other.
Tokamaru97 2 years ago
EVA is a Gainax property; Tatsunoko made it clear themselves.
Anyway, since it's 3 Tatsunoko/ 2 Capcom, here's my suggestion:
Tatsunoko: Space Ace, Speed Racer, Samurai Pizza Cats
Capcom: Jin Saotome (Cyberbots: Full Metal Madness), Tessa (Red Earth)
B4ULoveShine 2 years ago 2
Oh, it is is it? I didn't know that, I'm not much of an EVA fan, I just like the opening and want Shinji in a game so I can see him get his ass kicked.
God, I hope Tessa isn't in the US release... she was horrible in SvC, but that might be the god-awful KoF engine at fault there. She wasn't that good in Gem Fighters either, and I haven't played Red Earth yet.

I want to see Yami Yugi and Seto Kaiba be playable characters in Shonen Jump vs Capcom if they make one.
TwilightLink77 2 years ago
I really can't picture that.
gr8gmr 2 years ago
Well Yami Yugi would be using the powers of the Shadow Games in his hyper combos while Kaiba would be using his duel monsters and unleashing all three of his blue eyes white dragons for his hyper combo.
TwilightLink77 2 years ago
It's been a while since I watched Yu-Gi-Oh so I'm not sure what kind of powers Yugi could use in a fighting game like this. I think there are far better character choices.
gr8gmr 2 years ago
Watch Yugioh season 0 that would answer your question.
TwilightLink77 2 years ago
They had him as a character in both Jump! Stars games, they just had him summon monsters in every attack.
NarutoKirby165 2 years ago
Yeah, but that was a different kind of fighting game.
gr8gmr 2 years ago 2
Still, they could implement that to make Yugi a fighting character.
NarutoKirby165 2 years ago
They could make him like pokemon trainer in Smash Bros.
APZRman1 2 years ago
this is basically the worst idea i've ever heard
RudgerSA 2 years ago
Actually Kaiba summons monsters for his Hyper Combos and Yami Yugi would use his punishment games for his hyper combos.
TwilightLink77 2 years ago
That a really big idea!!!!
I think something like that to do in the fighter maker....but i can`t find some sprites.....Ruby from marvel vs capcom vs luffy....
