  • @TheJorens Wire is good for doing things like variable thrust. If I used numpad thrusters for this instead of wire I would have to choose between "TAKE OFF!!" and "WE ARE LOOSING ALTITUDE!!".

  • @galloway62042009 *shivers* Yeah, E2 is kinda weird (even to me, an intermediate wire user). You HAVE to be a programmer to take it in easy, otherwise you'll virtually be learning C++ or C or C# or Java or... You get what I mean XD

  • Now just ditch the wire and you will have a true Thruster powered craft. ;)

  • @powersurge91 The only use of the wire is to adjust the amount of force on the main thrusters since I wanted more than just on and off. Also, I hate the numpad and the fact that I can't have more than one vehicle at a time when I use it.

  • @Aaron16ExtraAmmo Mainly I stray away from wire thrusters on only air vehicles, so that I can switch over to numpad and eject when a target finder is tracking my character. I use an aray of numpad outputs on a pod controller to be able to use wasd. I get what you are saying about multi vehicles though. I did however use wire thrusters for a Clyclic controller on a cargo helicopter :P

  • @MrTimb58 again, all of the thrusters go to ONE accumulator that I control manually. The fact that it balances is a freak of source. Something about angled thrusters that are free to rotate makes for self balancing.

  • E2 didn't exist at the time I made this. All the thrusters for upward thrust have the SAME value being sent to them. The only thing performing balance is the rotation of the blades.

  • im guessing expression 1 or 2 gate and when u press w front less power back more same for s and for turning a= back right more etc. etc.

  • The only chip I am using is an accumulator. All thrusters for uplift have equal force. The tilting happened natrually.

  • i have an idea for using an expression, an increment decrement gate, a gyroscope and thrusters, I don't know if it will work but the the expression is for the frame the gyro scope for altitude measuring increment decrement gate so that you can make it go up and down with inputs and make it hover when no inputs are being applied, and also the gyro scope to make it so that when you push a button it will make it go up in altitude and down in altitude (like the increment decrement) Thoughts anyone?

  • logic is good....but what will the inputs be? WASD or buttons?

  • I simply used seperate thrusters for horizontal movement. thrusters on the back push the ship forwards.

  • It doesn't actually. What I have is thrusters on the tilted fan blades. When they are on, the blades rotate creating an auto leveling effect along with upward force. I used the weight tool to balance the props from front to back.

  • Thrusters on the underside. The source engine applies a gyro effect to spinning props.
