  • this is fantastic! who is your teacher?

  • @seh365 this is very old video, I was studying at Prague concervatoire with Jiri Rajnis at that time

  • Fiery and glorious.

Hope you will like the Delius Viola Sonata on You Tube also. Thanks.

  • wow this is amazing

    im truly inspired by this

now i wanna got to my

concert and act like i am as

    good as you!!!!

  • great sound

  • wow, you are crazy!:D

  • how do you not worried by the nerves at the time of the concert.

    Thanks for your answer.

That good show and good performance

5 stars and a subscriber more.

  • @juaco9292 well I think one needs to be little worried, othervise performance loose from it´s atmosphere. You can calm down just by thinking only about music and not yourself or other people on stage... :-)

  • Pianist is not bangin'. why don't u show him?

think he's just accompainin'? play with a midi file then...

  • well, we´ve been rehearsing this piece for quite a while and this japanesse pianist, she was just great, so I had no need to show anything, we could just both really enjoy it, for we had enough time tom rehearse it together :-)

  • Actually I was answering to who said the pianist is bangin. Anyway it would have be nice to show her too. I think many don't know how the pianist important is in duos.

  • Interesting how much certain passages sound so much like certain Brahms' Sonatas ... eg. 1:40 -2:22 or so .... Tantalizing. And then goes on well into the 21 Century. This is quite a showpiece for Viola . Beautiful spirited playing. Beautifully responsive instrument.

  • Jirko super, jen tak dál!! Libor Kanka

  • ur way good:) iv only played for two years and im terrible lol. ur cute too:)

  • very nice~

  • I love the viola! I is a violist myself...:D

    This is really great!!

keep playing and happy holidays! ^^

  • the piano sounds too loud, and the pianist is banging the piano too much.

  • Excellent and outstaning playing. Compliments!

  • u sound sooo beautifulll wow only 4 years whew playing at that level it would take me about 10 15 yrs to get there

  • And I agree with histeriaendlessly: you're beautiful;)

  • what a passion;)

  • why does the sound quality sound like a subway tunnel

  • Thanks all for great comments :-D

  • wow, nice !! Your viola sounds great! I play viola too, and allthough it's sounds great, it's not the same effect ^^ How long do you play ?

  • Your viola has an wonderful sound~!!!!

    some of my collection.

  • bravo!

  • I'm in love :)

  • wow....thank you :-D

  • Excellent sound. You should be very proud of your accomplishments. I'm 52 yrs old and have decided to start playing again after not playing for around 15 yrs. I'm really looking forward to it.

  • awesome. I am a violist also, still in high school :( such an engaging performance. bravo

  • Love it!

  • I would've loved to have heard the rest of it.

  • rest of this movement is there, just without video....

  • What size viola do you play?

  • well...this particular one was 40cm, so the small one, for other pieces here on youtube I have different instrument

  • what is the largest viola you play and do you like it better than the smaller viola?

Also, what are the dates of your violas?

  • I used to play 42,5cm modern instrument, but it was too big for me, viola on video is german around 1730 and recently I have my own viola for about 1/2year and it´s northern italian anonymous maker, around 1750.

  • My goodness! That was a huge viola! the viola I play now is 41.9cm but I'd like to find an Italian that is somewhere around 42cm. Have you tried any Hiroshi Izuka violas? They're incredible instruments.

  • nice playing...but more for theatres than concert halls

  • dude, you're awesome

i need to get recordings of these pieces!!

  • I am hopefuly going to do recording of this sonata in June for Czech Radio, so it might be somehow possible to get it....and thanx a lot for compliments... :-D

  • Vous êtes très bon!!!dommage que la sonate ne soit

    pas jouée entièrement.

  • This magnificent performer is also a composer:

Starling Quartet concert date: 21.6.2007 v 18:00 | place: Třebíč On the program quartets by Dvorak and Borodin and world premiere of piano kvintet by J. Kabat

  • I have thoroughly enjoyed your playing. Surely the viola is the noblest of the strings. I may be prejudiced:-)

  • @jesse: are you sure. what about the cello?! :D :)

  • Yes, Cellissima, the larger sibling is of the same nobility. Understood. :-)

    Jesse

  • The music was played with heart with the assistance of good techiques. Sure you can overcome all the little mistakes with more hard works. Well done. Hoping more great performances from you.

  • very good playing. And nothing to say about bow. I think you were doing exactly what you wanted to do. I mean you play on the fingerboard because you WANT to, in fact, you also go to the bridge when necessary (colours and so). I liked it.

  • I read that Martinu writing for violin (and I suppose the same for viola) is in an uncomfortable manner for the performer. That could explain the changes of position of the majority of performers of Martinu's music.

  • Good bowing arm. I agree with BillAndrewsVA, you play a little over the fingerboard. Also, watch the rotation of your bow, you'll get more sound if the bow is more perpendicular to the strings. Lastly, movement is fine, but you're constantly weight shifting back and forth--this is apparent in the clip and WILL be distracting on stage. Make large positional shifts deliberately, not because the notes are forcing you to.

  • Quite good playing work on your bow positioning. You play far too much over the fingerboard and it robs you of the rich sound of your instrument. I had to chuckle when I saw the Strad pad, I remember when I had one of those while I was playing the Bloch Suite and it stuck to my face because it was so hot on stage. I now use a handkerchief instead!

  • Alright now! Go ahead with your bad self!

  • you are great. ive just started to play the viola like 4 months ago and im browing yotube to try to improve myself. great playing

  • Very nice playing!

  • Ok, I fixed my problem. Great playing!

  • thanx

  • Your technique looks great. Unfortunatly, my computer has some mute setting activated and I don't know where it is. I hope to listen to your playing soon!

  • sorry for the poor sound quality recording-it was taken just on normal camera

  • perfect :*
