If Marks and Engels were alive they would be happy to see what 's going on with the capitalizm right now. Please, people, don't buy! That's the truth......The hyperinflation is behind the corner. God help us!God Bless America! Poor Obama! He can't do anything, just cosmetics.......................don't trust him....
This is one of the few Peter Schiff debates, where I think both parties may be right. The other guy...Whatever his name is...Is correct about investors being nervous about risk-taking. That IS what will jump-start our economy. Of course, If they're all in debt, and the value of the dollar has been destroyed, they have no money to jump-start the economy WITH...Which is Peter's point. It still boils down to the FED.
Peter Schiff is right. Produce and Save. What person thinks this is not good advice personally? Who thinks we would be worse off if we all did it? And what gives anyone the right to just "consume"? Consumerism is what will kill our faux-capitalism -- everyone wants something for nothing.
Oooh, look!! celebrity economicy people! Warren Buffet! Carly Fiorina! Peter Schiff, don't you agree that those people are really neato?!! Can we all agree that these famous, smart-looking people will definitely save us?
i am finding myself liking female anchors less and less. they always seem to say whatever they want and never worry about being wrong. my opinions are rarely based on gender but it seems like females just have a general difference in views on something like "reputation".. i have not seen one female anchor that seems well educated that spews very little bullshit without a smirk on her face.
seriously, where is the confidence of these female anchors coming from? most (not all) average male news anchors at least hold back their opinions if their guests are persistent enough and keep themselves from making too many hasty conclusions.
Apparently, you'd rather not discuss the issues and would rather insult this man for putting information out there for those who are concerned about the economy but don't believe that Obama's socialist views will fix it.
apparently you were born in a part of the world that doesn't recognize sarcasm or value being observant. im not going to waste my time explaining to you why i like/understand/admire peter schiff more than you, ill let someone else help you figure out why my comment is in support of peter schiff and his ideas. until you learn how to communicate in english... tits or gtfo. ass hat.
Ignoring your intended insult, I was born in the US. I thought you were being serious about Peter Schiff, my apologies. It is very hard to tell if someone is being serious or merely being sarcastic over the Internet. In fact, I do admire Peter Schiff and greatly respect him. I do sincerely apologize if I didn't make myself more clear in my last comment. And lastly, you don't need to insult anyone to get your point across.
I can just see Peter's first day as Secretary of the Treasury.. "Okay, we're going to be doing some retooling. From now on we will no longer print money-- instead it'll be books on Austrian economics and to control the money supply I'm appointing the Joker. If you need me, I'll be prospecting for gold up north."
I like the sound of that too, but that's not the point of a system of oppression to elect people like Schiff. The truth is, America really never existed but it was a great idea.
wow! people will never learn. i'm no expert on financial or economic matters but the saddest thing is you dont need to be to see schiff is dead on. these subjects are highly complex but in the end its 2+2=4. if the money and wealth isnt real but everyone from the consumers to the sellers and the government continue to treat it as real then the only outcome is crises. get control of our dollar, be thrifty and save, and stop letting our government rape our hard earned money. abolish the fed!!!!!!!
They always say Peter is overreacting....He's been calling everything before it has happened. The mainstream media is gonna look back and say, why did nobody warn us? Why could nobody see this happening? By then every informed wealthy person has all there wealth out of the states.
Confidence can mitigate the downside. On the other side of the coin, lack of confidence can exacerbate the downside, so I wouldn't discount everything he said.
Honestly, this is probably the worst topic to bring Peter Schiff in on ever. Anyone who has ever heard him knows that he doesn't see a difference between any of these candidates to become Treasury secretary and that we're in trouble no matter what. It's a waste, really, to have them put Peter on in that spot.
Nobody is going to listen to Schiff. Every time he made his point, the anchor woman went back to the standard questions: "Who will get us out of this mess? Warren Buffett?" They just don't get it. We are doomed.
The credit card needs to go away asap. Then they should cut everyone pay in government 10% and raise taxes. Make people work for unemployment and food stamps. Basically get to a balanced budget overnight.
It's American culture to borrow and spend-spend-spend. We love to buy, we don't care if we have to borrow to buy. We are in a culture of consumerism & debt but we don't want to stop. We'll just blame the collapsing economy on the Government and elect people from the "opposite" party to facilitate our borrowing and spending habits. They'll tell us that we're great and shouldn't change our bad habits and that's just what we want to hear. The political handjob will lull us to sleep once again.
Schiff's message needs to be shouted from rooftops in all countries we continuously borrow money from so we can begin this healing process. We need daddy to take away our credit cards so we can learn our lesson.
Buffett bought silver, shorted the FRN (dollar) and is now shorting US Treasuries. Buffett is betting the USA will go down. Yeah, let's now put him in charge of the FRN. Ha!

Peter should stop criticizing the American people. He should go watch some Elisabeth Warren, Harvard Lawyer, videos. People are getting crushed from the high cost of insurance, gas, food, college tuition, and various forms of inflation. not because they buy things they don't need.
Actually, Americans have overextended themselves. Just look at credit card debt. It's at 1 Trillion.
I was just in a mountain town and and many of my friend's neighbors took out HELOC to buy boats, ATVs, dirt bikes, snowmachines, etc. Stuff they did not need. They are drowning in a pile of debt.
You should listen to more of what Peter has to say. He has acknowledged the cause of inflation is due to the FED increasing the money supply. We have a consumer driven economy that's leading us into debt and he says people should be saving. Example..People are influenced by the incentive of a tax credit to buy a bigger home when in reality they are putting themselves into more long-term debt.
Peter said that government should not intervene since all they can do is print money which causes inflation and weakens the dollar and increases the price. Also there are market ways to fix insurance just watch all six parts of sick in America.
@mrzack: I hope that there will come a time when people who tell the truth to the American people are no longer called "un-American", "America-hating", or "criticizing the American people".
Like it's not some what our fault? We are being fed bullshit by the our "government" to prop up a system that can't be held up any longer and people still eat it. This has to end but it won't end naturally. The crisis is strategic and you don't have to have a degree in economics to see it. Just use a little common sense and ingenuity to see that the more there is of something less value it has. With that and the building of wealth from the top, down..nothing is started that way and kept solid.
