It can happen, but rare and definitely will not happen if there is any other sound.
More annoying noise is wind, even built-in filter cannot cut it off totally

why didn't you start at 28mm and THEN zoom in?

At first, TZ7 is 25mm.
I made that video to show for people in some forum how fast it can focus in video at 12x without prefocusing, as asked.

@Rambalac nice..does it make a buzzing noise when zooming? i obviously don't hear it..but i've seen other users here in youtube complain about a noise on their TZ7 when zooming..I'm planning to get this camera, and I'm just not convinced enough.
