  • the key is different, why F?

  • @junmishi2 he is probably using the same guitar he uses for "Yesterday" which is one tone lower.

  • I like how everybody is cheering loudly at the start, then they all shut the fuck up because Paul McCartney is playing.

  • @jadestar114 to be a Beatles expert what you said is not true. He MAY have be awoke by a blackbird at one point... but it is not what this song is about. Paul himself said he wrote this song about a black woman.

  • this is pre auto-tune too

  • i personally like this one better then the original, it sounds better in a different key

  • 5 are whitebirds

  • This is actually played in G Major Neutral Zero.

  • This particular version is in the key of F it's a matter of fact. the version on the white album is in G also a matter of fact. What happened was he was handed the wrong guitar for this song- it was the guitar that was tuned down 2 steps for "yesterday" that he plays in the G position but is actually in the key of F - Mccartney today plays blackbird in it's proper key of G and very often does not have to lower the key as many aging musicians do (like Ringo!) this was just a fluke.

  • Listening to your daily Beatles is as important as getting your recommended daily levels of Vitamin C, A, and E; it's vital; essential ;-)

  • @allesanperez I think he means its nine years since The Beatles

  • even with the mullet, it doesn't get better

  • sexy "hmmmm" McCartney !

  • Are you kidding me... Its blackbird!!! GET IT RIGHT!

  • @CapnDesDesGirl4eva LMFAO the name of the group he was in was "Wings"

  • @MoshJora haha oh:D

  • There are no words to describe what the Beatles mean to me. This song is beyond perfection.

  • Yep hes a God

  • I love how Blackbird is in tone of F

  • @fuugon noo its in G...yesterday is in F

  • @jimihendrix106 Normally Blackbird is in G but here he plays it in F :)

  • the 5 that disliked this are seriously fucking stupid!

  • here u see he switched guitars to the one tuned a step down so he could play Blackbird and Yesterday in F but using the G chords.

  • Paullie: Just 13 days and i´ll live THE MACCA EXPERIENCE, in Stadiun Monumental, Lima, Peru.

God bless you and be happy ever!! Thanks for a lot of precious music and feelings!

    love you Paul! :D

  • Paul: I´m countaing the days to see youuuu!!1 just 13 to live The Macca experience in Monumental Stadium, Lima Perú, love you Paul.

God bless you and be happy ever!!

  • Paul was king, #1 rocker, ballater, & love singer of ALL time. Paul is in element when he does live!! John Lennon was 2nd. to Paul's talent. Paul was the Beatles. Strong credit to George Harrison! Ringo, man could he play drums! LOVE, that Paul!!! tmasample

  • BEAUTIFUL!!! LOVE YOU PAUL!!!!

  • I was born in 1975 and on the very night when Wings performed here in Melbourne , I can't believe Paul McCartney came to Australia to play for me while I was being born just up the road at The Queen Victoria Hospital, my mum said that you could hear the concert cos the nurses opened up the windows., Thanks Paul ..... this song will be played at my funeral. you entertained while I came and you will entertain as I leave.

  • I love his voice here!

  • I want to learn to play this so bad. I've almost got it down, but I cant seem to figure out that index finger strum hes doing. Very Paul lol

  • I have 12 pages left to tomorrow, but still, I can't stop listening to this song...

  • Mamma mia che artista meraviglioso...

  • IcyScythe - it is not only 9 years later - this was performed in 1975! It was 36 years ago!!

  • Sbav.... *-* "sviene"

  • the beatles are always good live, beacause on their recordings they dont use any tech or auto tune like this modern shit so the live is always just as good as the recording.

  • its weird he looks so much older but it's only 9 years later...

  • Their musical variety astounded me, their melodies never get boring unlike many other catchy songs, their timeless, their instrumental skills far exceed most others because of their perfection, their voices and especially how they blend in harmony singing are unbeaten.

they also showed me way back in around 6th grade that music can have a meaning (yesterday) and hasn't to be about candy shops, window shopping, banging bitches and such stuff.

  • Before i found the Beatles i wasn't inerested in music (i'm 19), then with around 14 i made some interest in hard rock, but never heard full albums, or anything, just some songs, can't really call it a musical taste.

i only liked hard rocking stuff back then, then i found the Beatles, at first i was astounded how many of their songs i knew already.

then i dug deeper, got all albums and really found that it's just the greatest body of work ever done.

    It touched me deep inside.

  • @OropherThranduil Yes, the greatest and most creative body of work ever made!

  • hands down, my favorite beatles song (and it's only really played by paul)

  • I LOVE YOU PAUL.. I gotta have Sir Paul's book Blackbird Singing" Poems and lyrics. GENIUS.. that's what he is!

  • o por diooos

  • The Beatles marcaron un antes y un despues en la musica comtemporanea. casi vanguardistas y muy innovadores en lo que a composición se refiere, aunque lennon y McCarthey compusieran por separado juntos eran Grandes.

  • Simply the best

  • simply the best

  • The Beatles; still the best thing out there! Nothing can top them. Congrats Paul!

  • Too bad the Beatles couldn't have taken Sgt Pepper on the road, with all the brass, it would have been awsome!

  • I can't believe people still comment about the number of dislikes. That shit's really not funny anymore. It's actually really fucking irritating... Great song though. One of my fav'rites.

  • Amo de++++++++++++++ is great :D

  • 5 people hit the wrong button.

  • Paul in his prime. Watch and weep.

  • MOST TALENTED MAN ALIVE

  • @jba2323 I have to agree with you 125%

  • 5 people wont let blackbird fly

  • 0:40

    HAHA

    hehehehe

  • For me,he is god for more thirty years

  • I am not gay, but i love Paul McCartney

  • there are 5 seriously ill people...:(

  • This song was written as a response to the Civil Rights movement in the States. It shows support for the movement, one of my favorite songs of all time

  • you are right yellow submarine... paul is so so great... im always getting angry with people who is always comparing him to john, jesus, why? the four of them are lovely and are the popes of pop rock for ever...

now, paul is so sweet, is calm, and above all, his melodies take you to the sun... what else can you ask for a musician? long live paul, i saw him in argentina once(93), i so much wish to be able to see him again, now that ive been listening to him for almost 20 years more...

  • I was born in 75...great song...great year~

  • Love this concert, but I can´t get the full version of it. Does anybody know if this is possible? PPPPLLLEEEEAAASSSEEE, thanx a lot ;)

  • I love Paul McCartney and this version is absolutely beautiful. Thank you for posting it.

  • This is just beautiful and so powerful. Is there a full length film of this concert?

  • DENNY LAINE IS JEALOUS OF PAUL

  • What concert is this? Is it on DVD? Can I download it somewhere? Love to have some "vintage" Paul. Just saw him, April 5th, 2010 and he ROCKED the house. What a concert. True and pure genius.

  • awesome!!!

  • how can one get one's hands on this video, it is awesome!!!

  • this is byfar the best version ive ever heard

  • paul mccartney es grandisimo my idol

  • GENIO!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i love the guitar playing in this

  • @invertballer12

me too. you have excellent taste.

  • This song is about about any black woman during the civil rights movement... What did brits call women? birds...

  • i dont know about that man

  • sometimes a bird is just a bird.

  • @McMatthew420

    Hahahaha

  • @McMatthew420 Not to be a Beatles expert or anything, but the reason this song was made was because a Blackbird actually woke Paul up at 4 AM while he was in India and he became inspired by it so he made this song(:

  • Such a memorable song. Definitely my favourite :)

  • I wagged school in the morning so I could line up for tickets. When I got back to school, the teachers were annoyed that I didn`t get them one.

I saw him in Perth and you could here a pin drop when he sang this song.

  • krrrrrupt u need te get a grip e ur life man. youra pie

  • so this is how u hv interpreted the meaning of this song...well actually for ur info, "blackbird" is the word used for those black ppls back in late 60's, n especially black women, against whom color n race discrimination was practiced...McCartney was inspired to write this while in Scotland as a reaction to racial tensions escalating in America in the spring of 1968, McCartney stated that he had a black woman in mind when he wrote the song ('bird' being British slang for a woman).

  • damn!!...u r just a tough nut 2 crack...!!

  • so soft it's like i'm floating away on a soft cloud

  • I plan on buying the Beatles Rock Band CD...Hope it is worth the price...Have not heard any negative comments about it yet...

  • This might be the most beautiful song ever written...

  • Me too!

  • i'm in love.

  • Lindo..

  • We all love you Paul.

The Beatles music will forver be in our heart.

  • sounds perfect any one else thinking that guitar hero beatles version is going to corrupt this pure music? if i hear a hardcore band do a cover of any beatles song i dont know what ill do

  • haha yeah i know that there is a rock ban beatles game but its the actual beatles its notta cover or anything and ive heard the jonas bros do hello godbye which blew monkey nuts

  • silverstein did a cover of help!

  • anyone else thinking...GOD!!!

  • Just awesome!

  • Paul touches our lives with his beautiful music. What he gives us is a smile on a rainy day, a laugh on a bad day, and a good cry to help us remember how others feel. Live on Paul, and know that your music will always be remembered.

  • @TheYellowSubmarine13 Totally agree

  • Comment removed

  • @TheYellowSubmarine13 Poetly said...thank you.

  • @TheYellowSubmarine13 ...agreed and thank you for your poetry...

  • Paul is souch an advanced song writer..He is amazing!

  • holy crap, just holy crap I love this, everything that Paul, and The Beatles did was pure genius and masterpieces. Live on Paul McCartney, I just wish John and George were still around to live on with you.

  • @ChargerBentley holy crap? what the fuck are you.

  • @ChargerBentley I agree with you they are GENIUSES!!!

  • @ChargerBentley

    don't forget PURE MAGIC! ^^

  • @ChargerBentley people ALWAYS forget poor Ringo D: But I agree.

  • @ChargerBentley At least George and John's legacy lives on.

  • GREATEST LIVING HUMAN

  • I always love it when he does his old songs live, and I like the reaction from the crowd when they realize what he's playing.

  • this is the better version of blackbird i´ve ever heard

  • Such a simple song. Such simple lyrics. But it holds a knockout punch as heavy as any of his other tunes. Folks, this is a frickin' masterpiece.

  • HE'S THE BEST MAN EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Great!

  • he is such a great singer and guitarist. maybe the best

  • he changed the guitar for one with nylon strings (spanish strings)?

  • no they're steel string you can see when he grabs it... i think ! jajaja

  • yeah i think you´re right, but i still doubt it, the spund is not steel, and the first guitar he has sound like steel, and it was in tune, so why he changed it? maybe only paul or his guitar tecnician knows

  • steel i think

  • such a beutifull voice here

  • It's different if the entire audience is singing along with the band, but if it's just one drunk guy standing behind you screaming the lyrics, it's really annoying. If I wanted to hear some drunken idiot screw up a beatles song I'd go to a karaoke bar.

  • I love the song but hate the morons who think they have to whistle and shout during it.

  • So if you were watching Paul performing this tune live.. You would be quietly enjoying?

    BORING! uptight...

  • Well, I have seen him perform it many times. Twice in 1976, and a few times since.

When you have some drunk, stoned, a-hole shouting and whistling next to you, effectively ruining it for you, then if that makes me boring or uptight so be it.

There are plenty of songs to dnce to, clap to, sing along to, etc.

Blackbird was meant to be listened to.

I prefer to show the performer enough respect to listen to him during it.

  • Get your point... However I don't share it.

The two times i've seen him in Mexico, the sound quality was amazing so the ambient didn't really bother me, plus you could hear the crowd as a 40 000 people choir singing along and turning on lighters, that was freaking awesome. And of course this song was meant to be listened to, as all of the others, that's why we have the white album to go to anytime we want...

Respect your point however, didn't mean to be rude.

    Peace!

  • I hate some supid fan screaming the lyrics too

  • That's you man,... However there's nothing you can do that can be done to avoid it... So, chill out, enjoy and be happy for the rest of the people... I guess that's not implicit in your culture.

  • ilove you tho muzic thick :]

  • beezlebub56 ur the same peron as hisdream919 and ur a f'ing bitch!!!!

ALOT of ppl learned ALOT from these important men!

u just are one of the idiots who dontunderstand the beatles purpose

long live john lennon in spirit!!!!!

  • HisDream919 and Beelzebub56 are the same 15 year old female troll. Ignore her

  • go write blackbird, and then you can post your ignorant bullshit!

  • beatles song played by the wings... sweet and yes i know paul is in the beatles so don't even think about it.

  • this song is just to beautiful !

  • i've learned a number of different ways to pick for this song, i just cant get it to sound that pretty though

  • see my cover of this song ..and if you like my way i can teach you

  • i have never been a big fan of Mccartney but this song is just simply mind blowingly beautiful

  • Excelent

  • this song is great ! I would have played it in F too!

  • was this version of blackbird i F tuning?

  • SgtPeppers0607, yes it was in F tuning.

  • what would the strings tuning be?

  • D G C F A D

  • Mr. Mac wrote and performs Blackbird in standard tuning EBGDAE

  • he tuned down a tone so the strings sounded DAFCGD (thinnest to thickest string). he frets a G major shape to start the piece but it sounds as F major, he does the same thing on 'yesterday'

  • Hi Kelly: I just played along with this video, and you are absolutely correct regarding how he has gone down a tone, but the original recording on The White Album and most other versions I have heard him perform, it's done in standard concert tuning.

  • perfect and yes i agree with others here,it is better than the one on the white album.

  • He did it better than it was originally done... also this was later. Wow. Anyone have mp3 of this?

  • Fantastic

  • fasinante me encanta amo esta cancion me llega hasta al fondo!! que lindura paul loa mo lo adoro!!!

  • Amazing, the power of a beautiful song to silence thousands just to listen to it's wonder!

  • FANTASTIC!

  • amazing!!

  • beautiful ...
