  • Come to Birmingham AL!

  • <3 heroin

  • 4 people should considerately kill themselves.

  • The 4 dislikes of this incredible video were obviously not paying attention to the song but rather far more interested in other recreational activities shown at 2:46

  • how do i add dis straight to my mp3..sumone answer quickly

  • @26ColbyJack You don't. You buy the album.

  • The song is about mjk's son, And his father abusing him. When he refers to the snake behind him hissing, he is talking about his previous experiences threatening to hurt his relationship with his son, and when he refers to the bloods before him, he is referring to seeing his son and wanting to forget all of the memories

  • AMAZING.

  • recalling all of the times that

    i have died

    and will die

    thats alright...

    i dont mind...

    i dont miiind...

    I DONT MIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIND!

  • very nice but i think the slide show made me loose a few IQs

  • I like how almost every Tool video, comments relate their songs to drugs. No wait, I don't like that.

    This song's about his son.

  • @roflmao88 me too people commenting about their drug experiences while listening to tool annoys me... you shouldn't have to be high to enjoy Tool

  • @vapidwords "BUZZ" your wrong

  • @vapidwords no this song is about maynards son Devo H Keenan. Idiot.

look a little closer at how meaningful this song is as a part of himself dies as his son is born.

  • @themintone the song is about what u want it to be,thats the whole point,to find yourself in the words and use them as a "tool".

  • @themintone It's actually about both, Maynard has said it himself

  • @vapidwords dude i'm sorry but you're too basic for tool - they like to use metaphors...

  • @vapidwords dude i'm sorry but you're just to basic for Tool - they like to use metaphors..

  • @julietchrystelle yeah man. A band named after a phallic object is just too DEEP and EDGY for a plebeian scumsucker such as vapidwords.

  • @vapidwords it sounds like it is, and i doubt they'd be offended at your interpretation (it helped me through my own addiction, in a way.. tools and all that), but they have stated that is not actually about that, unfortunately. however, i believe thats part of the genius of tool.

  • @vapidwords I'm assuming you say this out of personal experience... Not something to be smug about.

  • @yearsofindignity5 it is something to be smug about. why cant one laugh off their own addiction? it helps to negate the traumatic effects that a life of drug dependency can have upon a person.

  • @vapidwords Nothing like getting set straight on Youtube in front of 52,368 people, huh? Amateurs. *rollseyes*

  • I think the song is about both the change caused by heroin and having his child...perhaps he is comparing the both, I have no clue...

  • Every friend i have that hated tool has been converted into a tool fan

  • @solidusreaper i wish the same would happen to me.

  • H is a drug that maynard uses

  • @BJagHalo its about his son

  • i have listened to this song a million times and i think its about his son that is what is so great about tool.

  • July 10 Seattle. I'm so there.

  • Arguing about song meanings is actually pointless, because, if anyone has taken a look at what the greatest band in the world is named, Tool, you should understand that they are a tool for you. Maynard specifically states this in an interview - something like, to use their music as a tool for greater understanding about one's self.

  • well guess what folks? we all interpret different meaning from music! Tool videos are psycologically stimulating and made the way they are to make you think ya know? encouragement for the dull masses to expand their minds. so quit arguing about song meanings! lol

  • if you have follewed the band and know the title of their very first album(opiate) its safe to say that since H is the street name for the drug the song is about that ie( i am to conected to you, slip away fade away) and if you listen to almost all of their older stuff you will hear of the addictions and physical and sexual abuse so guess what the song 4 degrees is about? its the difference in temperature between two places lol guess which two?

  • Just curious, but what is the point of the guy blowing himself?

  • What the fuck is 2:47 - 3:03 ... thanks for ruining the song.

  • @lolzeeddt09 It's from the Aenima booklet, the album from which this song is from...

  • @oud3is1 Aenema....

  • what does H. stand for ?

  • @klopapierpimperer half empty, heroin, jesus "H" christ, devo "H" keenan, its for YOU to decide

  • It stands for herion...the lyrics are also about that...

  • heroine. this is about(partly) about being addicted to H, about the concience fighting addiction and then giving into it. never forgeting it.

  • Brought to you by the letter "H," and viewers like you!!

  • @kylesalyer45 thank you.

  • I love the images in this one way better. The other one was an idiot for putting weird shit because 1.) Lots of people listening to tool ( like me) are enjoying there self, smoking a bowl/ tripping.... and they dont wanna see shit like this. :) Not mad js. 2 different vibes ran into 1 lol.... kinda crazy.

  • THE BEST MUSIC OF THE WORLD

  • Genial !!

  • underrated song.

  • yeah, your right. I did word that poorly. But you get what im saying. He was forced to change his lifestyle...or so the lyrics imply.

  • i just shot a bundle and nodded to this song on blast......

  • evry song of -TOOL- and -aPerfectCircle-

    is brilliant by its listeners

    evry song is gold ^_^

  • It's a song about H. The title says so, the lyrics do. And many people seem to have problems with that. WTF?

  • I drink beer in my pajammas while listen to this song in my basement. I am however more intelligent and profound than you'll ever know.

  • you misspelled listening

  • @markw1235813 uh huh

  • @markw1235813 with awesome hobbies like that. your right no one will ever know.

  • @markw1235813 Haha, I'm pretty sure you're my soulmate!

  • These are some seriously amazing lyrics!! I've always loved this song! And whenever I want to show someone how great Tool is, I have them listen to this song! The lyrics are so powerful!!

  • hell of a great song

  • Maynard's son's middle name is literally just "H". Once his son was born, he was forced to change himself. "My blood before me begs, open up my heart again." Considerately killing his former self.

  • @linian89 i know man he just left all his rage and all his feelings behind. you really can see that in his music.

  • @linian89 you just ruined the song for me, thanks. there's a reason why maynard never imparts a meaning into his songs.

  • @vapidwords Thats just the core meaning, but really it can mean whatever you want, it doesnt ruin it haha

  • G31. "H." is great, but what's it about?

When introducing this song live in 1996, Maynard touched on the idea of having an angel sitting on one shoulder and a devil sitting on the other. In at least one interpretation, the song is about being very close to someone who is tearing you apart, someone you can't bring yourself to leave, but someone who will destroy you because you can't leave them. It is the price you pay for being close to them; they aren't doing it on purpose: "considerately."

  • thats spot on!

  • IMHO "H" stands for half, his lover is only giving half. Not giving him there all. It is killing him, considerately. But then again, there are many interpretations of the song....

  • its not an argument, an opinion is all, we all know that opinions are like @ssholes...... Not trying to undermind you or anything. You are entitled to your opinion and I respect you for that and anyone else with their opinion.

  • honestly... maynard admits in a 90's interview that he graced the line of addiction with a certain substance....and wrote a song about it on aenima. he has made numerous statements about the meaning of h. the most important one being 'H is definitely NOT about heroin' - with just a hint of sarcasm.

  • best songwriter ever these are some of the best lyrics ive heard pure poetry

  • read the lyrics. it's about heroin.

  • In my opinion this song is about Maynards son (great part of tools music is it has many diverse interpretations so teach each his own) i believe that H. refers to his son. His sons middle name is H (that's its, just H). I view this song as Keenan talking about his relationship w/ his father (who beat him) and his son, whom he loves, but feels as though his struggle with his own father compels him to act out at his son

for example. "the blood before me begs me, open up my heart again"

  • its about heroin.

  • totally agree

  • what does h. stand for?

  • i heard that h is the middle initial of maynard's son's name...

  • Tool is so great to see live. They have the most amazing lighting I've seen. Definately the creepiest yet most badbass short clips platying on the big screens as well. Tool is just wonderful =)

  • The vid is a great show piece to the artistry... the madness behind this beautiful music. Maynard is a gift... A wonder... A calming voice in this madness we call life. I will forever be thankful I got to see Tool live and that I was alive to hear this music. Like the song says... I still feel them touching me.. changing me.. and considerately killing me...

  • tracey lee cook 04/10/1971 04/19/2007 baby never forget H and how it made us feel so alive i miss u baby i will open up my heart again love you always smoke to tha sky...jill

  • WTF at 2:46????

  • Ha its the photo from Aenima

  • What's coming through is alive. What's holding up is a mirror. But what's singing songs is a snake Looking to turn this piss to wine. They're both totally void of hate, But killing me just the same. The snake behind me hisses What my damage could have been. My blood before me begs me Open up my heart again. And I feel this coming over like a storm again. Considerately.
  • lmao i love it

  • 1:00 I WASSS THERE!!! pwaaaaaa
