Donald Miller is doing the same thing most folks who claim to search for God or Jesus-they leave out the Bible in its context. Saying God can reach people any way is a lie because God will not deny His nature to bring people to a false salvation. God can't lie or sin and His way is narrow. The fact that this book appeals to the unsaved should be a wake up call to Christians that it's a subtle lie. Rob Bell has been doing the same thing. The Gospel is enough for salvation, not this book.

@209vaughn Based on my comment, what am I ignorant about? Are you saying Mr. Miller is giving the true Gospel? Are you saying the Gospel in the Bible is wrong? It's easy to say traditional Christianity is wrong based on the problems of local churches, but we base our faith on the Bible, not by what American churches do. No one searches for God, the Bible says so; we give the Gospel first, ;people get saved, then they know God in a relationship. Is this Miller's view? Explain my ignorance.

I get what you're saying, and I agree on one note: God can reveal himself in many ways. However, God ALWAYS reveals himself as follows: "I'm God, I made you, you sinned, here's Jesus, follow him".. that's it. if that's not what people are coming to understand through DM's book, then it's empty and worthless as any means of spiritual nurishment. Yes, I am that 'narrow minded'.. Paul was too..

I haven't heard one word about Jesus, salvatoin, or living for the glory of God. That makes him another second rate entertainer who really isn't that funny.
