So, Youtube made a system where whoever files a DMCA claim can basically get a video taken down immediately, and whoever they filed the claim against is forced to submit their personal information to them... And they didn't foresee these problems??
A new copyright bill that is being proposed in congress WHICH I KNOW FOR SURE WAS INFLUNCED BY VIACOM. If this passes, youtube, along with many other sites, could be blocked in america, and this bill does not even block terrorist sites. dont belive me? LOOK IT UP!

There's a new group that's uniting to try and deal with DMCA flaggers and trolls. WeAreKiraKin is the main channel, who's already closed three troublesome accounts. If you're interested, join up to fight the trolls!
I've heard people talking about this user, YourMyResistance. He's trying to get YouTube to change the ability to flag a video so easily by flagging loads of videos ON PURPOSE. He wants everybody to do the same. He's got a video called A Message to YouTube, and more info on his channel page. I'm looking ahead and seeing more people's videos taken down is going to cause an uproar. I don't think that that's a good way of going about it. What do you guys think?
Just FYI you might want to check out Margret Stewart's TED-talk on Youtube's take on copyright stuff. Like I said just FYI. Give some insight into Youtube's policy.
Great advice, I recently had a friend false-DMCA'd by troll and we were lost for what to do, but to its credit, YouTube was great and got the video reinstated as soon as we contacted them explaining the situation.
I saw another video using the same exact song and it's still up. I want to counter claim and tell them that why I am getting punished for using a song but at the same time, I don't want to hand them ANY of my info. I know you probably have been getting a lot of comments like this one but I just want your opinion on this situation. Thank you for your time.
All right, I'm in a bit of conundrum and I just want your opinion on something. Last year, I had a video using "O Fortuna"-Offt. And then later on, my video was "rejected" (they said it was copyrighted infringement) and taken down. Now, I researched the company and it was legit and was the owner of the song but here is what baffles me
not to be mean but all the old paintball vids buy u and tech pb are all gone now. These new vids by both tech pb and u are boring. I liked the paintballing and stuff but now these vids dont cut it no more.
and now that i think about this more...nothing is going to be changed or even lean to change unless someone speaks up...i mean speak up more then this. eather go to youtube/Google HQ and demand changes eather by talking or...wll...draskic or by going to your local goverment or something like that
It's globally established that you should not be handing out personal information over the internet. That is what youtube is doing. This DMCA thing is ridiculous; they can just SAY its theirs and that's that, it seems. And you have to get concrete evidence that your material is ok to be on youtube. It's just BEGGING for abuse and encouraging stalkers and cyberbullies, and in that respect, youtube is breaking the law (which law, you'll have to tell me), by allowing it to occur.
you know youtube issnt going to change the "give out your info and then we send it to the guy whos takeing down your vid" until something bad happens, thats the funny thing about humans, we dont do red flags and try to stop or prevent something until something has already happen, even if there was warning signs ._. its the human race people and i belive that is one of our biggest flaws
Good video and good stuff to remember, at least I know I can counter-act a claim and not have to fill in my personal information because for me that's a NO NO!
@HappyCabbie The only problem is that I don't know where to go from here, to get youtube to change their DMCA policies. I would prefer to change the DMCA at it's base, the law needs to be changed drastically. But i'd settle for youtube changing their method of dealing with it for the short term. Prevent a LOT of problems with DMCA abuse.
@TygerWDR well it is a lot better than it used to be. The process has actually changed. I have DMCAed myself 3 times over the past 4 years just for the practice. It used to be any DMCA was accepted. They actually have begun to reject some DMCA's. Also the counter notice process is much easier than it used to be and is much quicker than before.
I fully agreed with everything you talk in this video

@SavingYT Wow I don't have many subs and haven't uploaded LPs recently so I should be fine. I can't wait until this is over.

@CheezeFox In so many words, yes on all fronts. And apparently, they continue to not see a problem with it.
