the protest to american beef isnt the beef itself, instead koreans feel president lee by agreeing to the import of american beef and the free trade agreement is compromising the country's domestic sovereignty.. also korean farmers are barely making a living as it is. there is nothing wrong with american beef but there is something mad about president lee's policy of compromising the well being of his people for selfish political gains.

At first I didn't like Lee. He kept talking about Koreans working even harder(I am American). The dolt Korean woman I worked with, whose husband works 12 plus hours a week, agreed with Lee, Koreans must be more diligent! I figured Koreans simply like it up the ass. The higher up the rectum the bigger the Korean smile.

However, I have taken a liking to Lee. He wants to play fair with America and I think that is good. Of course, the protectionist citizenry is throwing their usual temper tantrums.

They're upset that Korea may import US beef, which they believe will be poisonous because of mad cow disease. OF course it's total b.s., and maybe for the most part anti-foreign and especially anti-American sentiment.

The real danger for people in Korea doesn't come from US beef, but from bird flu which keeps breaking out there, and because of which they've had to kill all of the poultry around Seoul.
