I like this song and think that the video is very admirable. But am I the only one who hears her runs sounding a bit choppy. I mean...they don't really flow together. She seems to have power in her voice. But it seems as if she's not hitting all her notes and then using runs to cover it up which just makes it worse. Yea, I have a pretty good ear and I'm picky about stuff like that. Maybe I'm being a bit petty. Still better than a lot of other people out there.

@tru2me3223 yeah Marsha's unique voice quality (aside from it's tone) is her ability to throw her voice to make that "choppy" sound u speak of, and she sometimes does that to make her runs. I feel like when she's in the moment she may not think all the notes out all the way through and it comes off as she can't sing the note, but if she thinks about it before hand it comes out SO much better.

I'm a musician and i'm pretty good with voices. For a long time i have always said "marsha has had to have some contact with michael jackson." Even before "butterflies." I love her voice and it's almost scary cause you seriously can place michael's voice on this. It's almost as though the writer of the song wrote it with mike in mind for her to sing as a tribute. Just a thought hearing the vocal similiarities. Marsha is rocks and didn't need help and the right person is singing this song.

thats the difference between a real singer and a half-assed singer. fake singers need help from back up singers who actually sing better than the star. and half of you are so used to loving fake singers, that when a true talent gets up and plays and sings without help, you start screaming for backup singers because thats what you have been misled into accepting. while all the gimmicks hide the fact that your favorite artist cant put herself out there like this!

This is one of the most beautifully written,not song by her songs I've ever heard. with that said this song has the lyrics of a Grammy or soundtrack but, the singing made me laugh. When I first heard this on the radio, I said to myself that anyone with money can make a song. Who the Hell is this. To my surprise It was the lady from Floetry. I was hooked on Floetry ("Say Yes", "Butterflies" & "If I Was A Bird"), from the very beginning...and although the demise of Floetry saddens me, Martha's exquisite God-Given talent, displayed quite abundantly in her "Solo" effort, has let everyone know that the beauty of the Floetry "sound" will continue.

I glanced at her with Floetry on occassion tis I wasn't a fan but I've always loved her unique vocals and now I'm just in love lol Real music, real emotion, real, real, real and that voice is like no other.
