i just bought a Acer X1260 Projector and planing to sell my Sony dlp Es3 witch is LCD, i hope i do not regret this... because of the Rainbow effect that DLP have.
I just looked it up, It's on yahoo's HD trailers page in the archived trailers section. It's under the name "Meet the Robinsons" They have the 720p & 1080p versions.
Haven't had a chance to play around with windows media professional exhibitor so I'm not sure how good It would work, The main concern is If would be able to play all of the file formats your using, As with me a lot of the movies/trailers are .mkv .ts .mov So I'm not sure how It would handle those formats,If you don't use those formats & stick to standard .avi .mpg It should work great. I prefer Media Player Classic because It works well with the Quicktime trailers & Is seemless between videos.
It's really a fairly simple setup, I got the slides on cd from the AVS forums, Then I found the best slideshow software in the world "My Slideshow Gold" I exported an mpg of the slideshow with the music. On the PC I'm running XP pro & using Media player classic with K-Lite Mega codec pack. Which allows me to play any video format from .mov .wmv to .ts streams on Media player classic.
Then I just put the files in the order I want "I get the 1080p Hd trailers from yahoo" & save them as a playlist. I also have an ATI remote control attached to pause play skip etc. You can customize Media player classic to start in full screen when you run the playlist as well.
UPDATE: Soon I'll be setting it up so I can log into it from my laptop so I can build up & run prints from anywhere along with programming start times for the showings, Very similar to how the new digital theaters work.
Just a note, This is a very rough draft & the audio is from my cameras built in mic, If you watch to the end you will see the beginning of the feature start "Hackers" The movie. This is as close to 35mm as I can get until I can afford a portable 35mm projector like a Mignon 35. Until then it's 16mm & DLP. Oh & the music was the only thing at had right at hand so bear with it. lol Once I start using a laptop as opposed to the tower then it will be nicely portable!
