  • @disquisition73 excuse my language but jesus, get a life and stop trolling NCSE with your spam, some people want actual debate discourse on youtube not circular garbage.

  • @disquisition73 Repeating false statements based on your ignorance of the subject does not constitute a valid argument. As for me not liking semantics... You're an idiot if you think going "oh well, it's not true because I'm defining it this way and I refuse to accept anyone else's definition because if I do, I have to admit being wrong," in anyway resembles honesty, intelligence, or a valid argument.

Go ahead, continue being belligerent. Give me more reasons to dislike you.

  • @disquisition73 Incorrect. Evolution is a proven fact. It works without spontaneous generation. In fact, evolution insists that there must not be spontaneous generation. If you're confused by this fact, take it up with a biology professor, not with YouTube. Now skidaddle. I expect a 4 page report on exactly why one shouldn't use semantics as an argument against science. I want the report on my desk by this time tomorrow, or I'm flunking you.

  • @disquisition73 Ok, you have to be a fucking troll. There is no way you could be this stupid.

  • @saxmanchiro absolutely, he/she posts the same spam on many of NCSE uploads and associated, denies that climatic change is occurring as well, not to get into a tangent about that but it is the rate of CC that is unprecedented, a troll all the way.

  • @disquisition73 "There is no evidence for man made global warming"

Wow, you need to do some reading of the literature. I would start with the AMS statement on AGW from Feb07(it hasn't changed because there is no contrary evidence) and then go and check EACH fucking piece of literature that is used to support that statement and then come back and change your stupid statement. It should take you about 6-8 months of time to read it all, but then you claim there isn't any. Sad

  • @disquisition73 Blah blah blah, semantics, blah blah blah.

It's no wonder you lack a proper education. All you're doing is picking definitions out of a colloquial dictionary, using it to prejudge the topic without knowing what it is, then going "oh, so that's what this is about. ok, la la la, I'm not listening" instead of actually listening to what's being taught.

If you're intent on sticking your fingers in your ears, it is a waste of my time to address your points.

  • @disquisition73 And for the record, abiogenesis in the modern sense is the study of the origination of life 3 point some billion years ago. Of course I don't expect you to do something like open up a biological reference book instead of a damned colloquial dictionary. But hey, if you want to stick your fingers in your ears and remain ignorant while pretending that arguing semantics with me is going to get me to respect you, that's your problem, not mine.

  • @luccaskunk This disquistion73 person put his IQ in his YT name. He is ignorant or stupid. Stupid is when you have been told something that is true and you continue to deny it, ignorant is when you have an excuse because you have never heard that truth. In this day and age of knowledge and ease of learning that knowledge, he is stupid. Stance is simple, fingers in ears and saying 'la la la la la '.

  • @disquisition73 So if the best you argument you can muster is basing everything on a colloquial English dictionary rather than on a proper education on the subject, then I have to conclude that you are a complete imbecile suffering from the Dunning-Kruger effect and not worth debating with.

  • @disquisition73 I'm sorry but Websters is not qualifying what they mean by "any living thing". What's more is they are not a scientific dictionary. Even worse, they're frequently wrong. For instance, back in the early 2000s, I looked up the definition of "pentagram" and it said "a six pointed star. Nevermind that the root of the word literally means "five pointed star", it said "six". It even went on to clarify "Star of David" even.

  • @disquisition73 Half Correct. the "Theory of Spontaneous Generation" describes the spontaneous generation of organisms which are already evolved. The Theory of Evolution does not describe the origin of life, it describes the speciation and adaptation via modification with common decent. Abiogenesis (not biogenesis) describes how life probably started from "nonliving" matter. Nucleotides have been shown, if they exist in a suspension, to spontaneously form DNA chains.

  • America's fucked if you ask me. Religion is its cancer.

  • 70s Genie was sooooo hot!

  • @yavanna1969 I think this video is from the 90s (description). I think she looks better now.

  • What an amazing woman.

  • God, she was hot then. She's even hotter now.

  • Take on the Climate Change deniers with the same fervour please. Full guns ablaze.

  • (puts hand to side of face for inquisitive look)

  • I'm an atheist and I cannot believe that all 3450 people are smart and no dislikes were given yet, keep up the intelligence people, and get the less open minded creationist to the truth.

  • To quote Indiana Jones: "...the poursuite of FACT not TRUTH. If you want truth phylosophy is down the hall."

  • Only DR. Scott can get away with saying, " You betcha socks."

  • I will stand and be counted as an Atheist! Welcome to the future!

  • We can just complain about the Creationist push to indoctrinate our kids by slipping their nonsense into public schools, or ...

... scrape up the 35 bucks and join NCSE.

This way, we can be part of the solution. The annual NCSE membership fee works out to less than 10 cents a day. It's a bargain, and Genie's a gem.

  • Genie Scott is saving our Education system. Thank you so much for you efforts.

  • Genie Scott and the NC4SE - Unsung American heroes!

  • Genie Scott, you can wield my 2x4 any time ;)

  • We could do with more of her ilk, keep it up .

  • I'm hott for Genie Scott!

Don't believe in evolution, understand it.

  • Thank you for your hard work and persistence. Education and specifically truthful and complete science education is so important.

  • Truth doesn’t matter to people with an agenda. Keep us the good battle.

  • And Lo Adam and Eves third Child Nigel did Dyeth. For one day he did wander upon the plains, wherest he did happen upon a mighty lizard taller than 5 men high with teeth as long as a mans arm, and this Great Tyrant Beast did eateth Nigel.

    .

Bible, Genesis, the part with the dinosaurs in.

  • @neverfearchrisishere is it your belief that dinosaurs lived six thousand years ago?

  • @greatkeyboardwarrior Six thousand years? no ofcourse not. I read my bible, and thoroughly believe that the world was created a week last tuesday.

  • @neverfearchrisishere You infidel! It was created last Thursday! last-thursday (dot) org

  • @Turgor Clearly the only way to solve this dispute is to strap bombs to ourselves and blow up random civilians.

  • @neverfearchrisishere High explosives are just a theory. Intelligent Disintegration is just more reasonable. Teach the controversy!

  • I would love to teach creationism in my classroom. My first assignment. How many gods are there" #2 Can you disprove any of them? #3 I would then teach them about the evils of the christian bible. I'd let them read passages from the bibles they brought from home and then send them home crying.

That would get the parents attention.

  • @pchtermino1 Awesome. If the parents got mad at you you could just say that you were reading passages of the bible to their children. That is such a horrible and evil book. The truth is that many so called "Christians" have never actually read the bible.

  • In twenty years when America is in a international science competition will "god did it" be an acceptable answer?

  • if i'm not mistaken crocodiles are dinosaurs, so technically dinosaurs are living at the same time as people do, that is to say: Now.

  • @unamaxify Unfortunately you are mistaken; crocodilians are dinosaur cousins, if you will. Characteristics of crocodiles are distinct from dinosaur characteristics. Just one are is the hip bones, which determine stance. You are right that crocodiles are ancient creatures from the age of dinosaurs. So are sharks, for that matter, but sharks are not dinosaur representatives coexisting with man.

  • @sanseijedi

crocodiles are not dinosaurs -> humans & dinosaurs did/do not live together

    I stand corrected !

Thank you for taking the time to explain it to me.

  • @unamaxify Crocodiles are not dinosaurs. Dinosaurs, which is a broad term for many many species. Modern Crocodiles had a common ancestor to certain types of dinosaurs. They are not dinosaurs though.

  • And this is the USA! WTF? It's like Afghanistan, only difference is that insted of muslim fundamentalists in control, you have christian fundamentalists. I'm so glad I'm born in a reasonable country!

  • @gangsterper Me too. America is going downhill fast. I predict that in 20 years after America has stopped being a super power it is going to be a horrible place to live. That is if people with fundamentalist beliefs keep staying in power.

  • when genie scott talks evolution i get hot for her

  • this is sad thankgod India dosent have this creationist bullcrap

  • BAHHH CREATIONIST TROLLL THIS VIDEO THE INTERNET POPE COMMMANDS YOU TO TROLL THIS HERE ATHEIST VIDIERRRR UNDERMINING THE MARCH OF THE AMERICUN CHRISTIAN REICH DEATH TO THE UN BELEIVER POWER TO UNREASON TROLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOOLLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLLOL XD

  • I tutor middle school kids in an afterschool program as a part time job, so i have a pretty good idea of what kids are learning about science these days. In my area, creationism isn't a big problem, but the kids still know nothing about science. The public education system is just terrible at teaching science, these kids have no fundamental knowledge, there is zero retention. They teach it like an english class, where you read a paragraph and fill in the blanks, the kids don't retain any info

  • I just bought a bag of ketchup chips and they had almost NO ketchup! FUCK YOU Ketchup Chips! FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

  • It may not have been the case in 1994, but if you moved this interviewer to the present he'd only be able to get 1 of 2 jobs. Used car salesman or megachurch pastor.

  • If scientists don't teach our kids science, there won't be any scientists.

  • @lostismyconstent actually, if you dont teach religion, what you get are scientist

  • @lostismyconstent

    CHRISTIAN SCIENTIST!

  • @Callirgos1 Nothing wrong with that. Just teach the Science not the religion. Unless your a biblical literalist there is no reason you cant believe in God and Science.

  • @Callirgos1 lol! Couldn’t be further from the truth :)

I’m an evolutionary biologist starting a grassroots program to teach middle school kids the basics of evolution so they don’t have to wait to learn these very simple concepts until their freshman year of college (as I had to). What I meant by my last comment was if there aren’t people like me, teachers willing to stand up for what’s right and not retreat in the face of well-meaning but ignorant parents, there won’t BE a future for science.

  • Ken Ham have no idea how to use a computer. That's why there are 0 dislikes.

  • Please keep up the good work! We have to end superstitions.

  • That interviewer doesn't look too thrilled... :D

  • why are people more skeptical over evolution rather then creationism ?

  • @2010paultron To be skeptical of something, you need to take it seriously enough to consider it anything less of a complete joke.

  • @2010paultron they aren't skeptical, just that their brain hurts and foil.

  • Can we get some recent videos please? All that seem to be uploaded is stuff that is at least three years old.

  • Keep up the fight. Truth is more important than a comforting illusion.

  • I'm in that smart part of YouTube again.

  • @luccaskunk great comment, I get the image of a high-school kid with Redtube on the other tab and Youtube on the other haha.

  • If evolution is true, then why are monkeys still here! lol... just kidding, just kidding.
