  • Wow, this took me way back. Thanks! ... Atari 800xl ... best computer I ever owned.

  • I used to play this on my commodore 64, loved it!

  • Damn, I wish I still had my 800XL :(

  • 10 levels with 5 skill levels and I was king at age 7 .

  • One of my favourite Atari games ever. I think I completed it. It was only 9 levels I think. Miner 2049'er and Rally Speedway were my other favourites.

  • I loved to play this game when I was 12 years old on my first computer (Atari).

  • This game is better if u put it on skill 5. Get loads of the badguys then :)

  • Oh man, this game was godly on Commodore 64, loved it!

  • This was the first game I played on my Atari 800XL. I've never completed it, though. Does anyone know how many levels there are ?

  • To the best of my memory, I think there are 9 levels. If you look at the level number in the bottom right of the screen, there's only room for one digit. There might be a tenth level, '0', but I can't remember. I'm pretty sure I've completed all of them, though.

  • I've finished it at last! There are ten, and then you come back to the first level but it gets more difficult.

  • i completed it , there was not many levels 10 as far as i remember. just went back to start..good game

  • The deaths were always quite jarring! Especially when he smashed his face into a lift. The best modern system to play this, and other 800XL games on, is probably Sony's PSP, which handles emulation really well. I do have an Atari 800 emulator for my DS, but it only runs at half speed, so it's pretty much unplayable.

  • I used to play this game obsessively when I was a kid. It's funny because Jack looks a lot like Estelle Getty and it always used to crack me up whenever he died... whackin' his head on stalactites & ramming his gut into lifts. My copy made different sounds when he collected the notes though. I used to boot mine on an 800xl from a 4x6 floppy. Too bad it had to die, I had a lot of cool games like this one. Can this be found on any of the modern day systems? PS3? XboX?

  • That was the first computer game i ever played.

It was around 1988, I was 12 and we played it with my colegues at school (13 boys, gaping at the screen, eager to play, waiting for their turn). Im from Poland and that was during cold war.A year later we chased Russians out of our country and communism collapsed. YEahhh.

  • Awesome! I'd like to think Jet Boot Jack was responsible for the collapse of Communism in Poland!

  • In fact Pope John Paul II, Lech Walesa, Ronald Regan and furious, oppressed polish citizens were responsible (high prices of food triggered strikes). But in 1988 I dreamed about my own computer, and I've had to wait another seven years before my brother bought Amiga CD 32. Then I bought Play Station, Sega Saturn and now I have PS2.

  • Oh!

  • Cool game ! ;)

    My sister liked very much!

    Souvenirs :)

  • Did she play this on the original machine, then? It always surprises me when I find other people who had one of Atari's 8-bits, because where I grew up, no-one else did. I had a friend who had a C64, but that was it!

  • yes, she play on my Atari 800XL in 80's :D

I haved this game in "Smash Hits vol.3" compilation...

  • Atari xe xl rules !!! sometimes,i played atari games but only on simulator...i have computer, but my recorder(tape!!!!!) has gone...hi hi

  • A total blast from the past!
