I didn't see sisko as the best captain while watching the series. But then I saw Brooks at the Star Trek: Las Vegas Con last year...WOW! He's awesome! I felt like I was attending church! He opened by saying "The power, and the glory of all this - is in you. It is you.
His voice is sexy, oh and Roots, I remember that, never read the book, but the series was brilliant, there's also a Star Trek connection, Levar Burton...
Avery Brooks is a professor at Rutgers Universwity in New Jersey, so it's no surprise he knows how to give a good lecture. He also has that commanding voice, and you can also tell from this clip that he's genuinely happy to be in New Zealand, esp. when he says, "Yay!" Or maybe -- he's acting! Ahhh!
He's a way better public speaker than some of the other cast members. It's surprising, but just because someone can act doesn't automatically make them a good public speaker. Many of the actors are shy or reserved in person. It takes all kinds of people to be in the acting business I guess.
Sorry about asking but DID you actually work at the DS 9 project????
I consider DS 9 the best SF series ever! Why don't they want to continue with the project.Did they run out of ideas cause i have a lot..... : ))))My respects to all who were involved.q
He was great as Captain Sisko. I wouldn't say he was the best Captain but I really liked the character. I kept on waiting for him the entire run of the series to just once say "Spencer" now he was a bad ass in that show.
My favorite captain on my favorite Star Trek series!

Ben Sisko was the Barrack Obama of Star Trek captains. Thumbs up for The Sisko!

I think he is the most sympathic captain in Star Trek, there seems to be no hate in Avery, also when there could be so much inside him.

I always loved sisko for his sheer brutality (In comparison to other captains)

IMHO, Sisko and Pichard tie for Best Trek Captains. Kirk, Janeway and Archer were shallow by comparison.
