  • I love this

  • You always find that every guitarist has their own style of playing in some way or another, some are just better than others. If you want to go to Rock then look no further than Brian May from Queen or Mark knopfler from Dire Straites.

Mike Oldfield too is also without question another superb guitarist, again with his own style of playing.

But, brilliant as he is, Hank Marvin always seems to be guy that people seem to forget about for some reason - certainly should be up there with the best.

  • @bentallpioneer Not me mate ! I used to run home from school to hear The Shadows before the ABC news report. I'm still imitating Hank to this day. I love the style and sound as do most here in Australia. Have you ever heard Peter Posa ? NZ

  • dont try & understand 'em just rope throw & brand 'em

  • We all check out , nice vid , us lads will play and stay towards da time as if and when we play , Watch dis space...T.A.L

  • To Suhou2809. Yes Hank is a great player. The best in the world? Haven't you heard of James Burton ???

  • @MighyMick101 - Or Scotty Moore!

  • @Georgie2047 Scotty Moore and James Burton together dueting. Now that'd be a hell of a concert. If it ever happens I'll buy us both a ticket

  • pure class always looks happy and truley loves what he does and I am a yank

  • why need vocals when the guitar is your voice.

  • Love it good olde Hank, saw em once with Sir Cliff, tho isnt that a bit of slow hands Layla, at the start and finnish ?

  • YOU ARE THE GREATEST GUITAR PLAYER IN THE WORLD! YOU ARE TRULY # 1 I WANT ALL MY FRIENDS IN AMERICA TO HEAR THIS MUSIC. THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS YOU DEAR ONE! SIR CLIFF RICHARD IS LUCKY TO HAVE YOU ON HIS TEAM! (SUE" ) FROM AMERICA.

  • The Burns sounded better

  • This sounds bloody brilliant!

  • What concert was this and is it available on dvd?

  • @technocrash09 It's called the Millenium Concert or something like that - you can get it on DVD.

  • @william59glersh To correct myself, it's called the Countdown Concert recorded at the NIA Birmingham in 1999.

  • @william59glersh Cool! Thanks! I grew up with this stuff (The Shadows, The Ventures, etc). Hank's sound is a sound unmatched, for sure.

  • Legend.

  • The wireless transmission at the guitar might change the sound into something more fabric/modern. Besides he might use modern amplifiers+ theres a backing track that sounds so flat in tone. Hank Marvin havent changed though. Only the technology.

  • is he playing with samples :S?

  • es hermoso y padre sonido y la forma en que HANK MARVIN toca.

  • beautiful

  • Great.

  • fantastico el sonido

  • geniaaaaaaalllllllllllllllllllllll

  • Wow ! Bravo !

  • Love Hank Marvin my fav guitarist of all time but somethings not quite right with his tone at this concert? He seems to be using a chorused sound on top of the vintage sound? anyone notice this? The Strat here sounds to modern? i cant decide wheter it is the tuning or the out of phase sound that is coming through on the back strat pickup thats throwing me???? chorus after the key comes back to Am after Cm??? something not quite right there???

Great playing and tone none the less as usual.
