I have the original crysis atm, and i suppose im more interested in performance rather than quality. Low graphics is a bit bad i admit, but at a medium level, i would prefer. Hopefully medium settings will have decent performance on 8800GTX

I don't believe it! I have a Phenom 9850, 4Gb of ram @1066Mhz and a 8800GT @512Mb DDR3.. and I cannot run it at very high looking like this although in optimal settings it says very high.

I got to play at High with Antialiasing filter to run it at real time

got 8800GTX either: 30-40 fps, v1.21 patch, 1680x1050, all HIGH, no AA, vsync enabled, fullscreen, vista 64bit, 4GB RAM E6600 @ 3225MHz!

overclocking a multi-core CPU to 3,2GHz or more WILL increase performance/fps. performance raised from 15-20 (@2,4GHz) to 20-30fps.

overclocking the 8800GTX has no use: even with much higher clocks, the performance will DEcrease due error's in rendering.

what exactly? different setups therefore different results... you have a different vid card, are using different drivers and are probably using a different config for the game

ten years ago we had terrible 3d graphics. Today we have crysis. This game has me in awe of how great the graphics can be. I can not wait till 2017 to see what they will be like then.

Why?! They make you pay warranty and service fee's on every component that you have, and also they're way too expansive in general.

I bought a Dell Dimension 8400 three years ago and I regret it sooo much. Since then I almost got a complete new computer from them.. since everything broke!

Motherboard, GPU, CPU, Memory and the case broke! Good thing I purchased 3 years warranty!

8800GTS G80 = no way... Yeah it looks AS good but it has lower FPS which is gay.

8800GTS G92 = 2 fps less than a GTX so that's .. almost as good.

I have 8800GTS G92 Sli so that is > 8800GTX :)

To get the physics working like that, what video card do you recommend? I'm looking for something that will serve me well, but isn't too dear? I don't really know anybody that could help me, and I've checked some prices, thinking about going for the Geforce 7000 series. Would a Geforce 7800 GTS be able to handle the physics in this on your opinion? I don't care about the graphics and resolution being low or high and whatever, I LOVE PHYSICS!

well, as far as i know, the processor is most important for the physics, so i'd recommend a decent core2duo. the best graphics card you can get for the money at the moment is the 8800gt, which is as fast as mine, but half the price. grr

the gtx is better, but only by a tiny bit and isn't worth twice the price, unless you are going for high resolutions (but even this is impossible in crysis)

you would have to get an 8 series i have a 7950 overclocked to 705 mhz and its still lags a little bit but thats with all settings set on high. that game is soo kick ass i could stare at it all day

just curious, what levels are you texture settings on? med or high? paralax on?

all settings to high, then some extra lines added in game.cfg to give godrays, ocean physics and various other 'dx10 only' features. i believe paralax is on yes, or at least i think the stones at the end show it. texture is high, but not obvious from the quality on youtube
