The friends I went with were huge fans of the burgers at Paty's on Playa la Ropa, I liked them too. I should really just edit out the "ground up rat" comment. We were joking about how bad the processed meats can be in the United States, while talking about the good food at our favorite restaurant in Zihua. We can't wait to go back. Cooking our own meals with food from the mercado was the most fun, but I love the Pozole near downtown on Tues/Thurs. To be clear, "ground up rat" is in Chicago.
I've spent a total of nine weeks in zihua over two years and have eaten 'at home' and in many restaurants there. The meats and fish are excellent as is every other food, being fresh. The burger meat is one of the best I've ever had. Sure their burgers are thinner but why do we need 1/2 lb of meat anyway?
I always lose weight thanks to the fish, fruits and veggies and feel fitter all round. I plan a whole winter next year.. Never have I or my friends had a truly bad meal or bad meat anywhere.
i misunderstood an i apologize but when your playing something that is open to the public maybe it should be edited differently. an again i apologize it just hit a raw nerve
why is it that when you travel outside the us everything is possibly madeout of cat, dog, horse or in this case rat meat do you think that everything you eat in the states is carefully inspected for your comsumption? dont kid yourself i heard stories that would make your stomach turn from people that work in the meat industry.
Good point emontes, but just to be clear, I wrote that caption as an inside joke with the girl who said "ground up rat". To be clear, she was talking about a restaurant in Chicago. Now isn't that ironic? I'm sure that with your knowledge, you are aware that "The Jungle" was about meat packing in that famous American city. Had you realized the point of the video, being a happy tribute to a beautiful country, you might have placed your comment somewhere meaningful, try it out.
great video! i was born in a town 30 mins from Zihuatanejo called Lagunillas. I used to go here all the time when i was a kid. Thank god im finally going back for a while next year:)
