  • puts my 3 axis cnc machine to shame must be a bastard to set your datums !

  • Awsome v8 proply took ages

  • @ffjhfhhfh so because of your lack of knowledge about the subject matter, you feel empowered to deem this video a waste of time?

  • @ffjhfhhfh what did you expect when you clicked on a video titled "5 Axis Unmanned Multi Pallet Machining"? that's EXACTLY what this is....

  • song name? ^^

  • Buy the machine, buy the engine block progammes and start making money!

  • @KPAracing use mastercam and make ur own programs, im a cnc machinist my self

  • Thanks for the video. I'm looking for a company that owns this type of machine (or even similar) in the Philippines. I'm and industrial designer that design parts and build prototypes that frequently needed CNC machining services. For now, I need to travel to Hong Kong and China to have the parts done which is costing me more time and money. Can anyone tell me where I can avail such service in the Philippines? Thanks.

  • In my opinion these machines represent one of the pinnacles of human achievement

  • I'm learning on the V Plus 1000 at the minute. We make aerofoil blades for gas turbines. Fantastic piece of kit.

  • @YoungJim409

This is for the vayron, every engine is made this way. The car costs a lot so they can do it this way. Makes the block way stronger than if cast. It's really expensive which is why not everyone does it.

  • i constantly have to make things out of steel and aluminium... and it takes me so much time and effort to figure out how make half of the stuff after designing it... watching this video... it's just taking the piss, i guess machines will rule the world one day.

  • I want one!!! that is the ideal machine for anybody who manufactures or invents!

  • Captivating! Excellent video!

  • who makes the software that this machine runs on? matsuura makes it or they buy it from another company?

  • i do 9 axis since 6 years... these 5 is so poor...only use japan mashines

  • what are the cnc brands of the U.S ?

  • I like this video. Thank you for your sharing. Hope to see next your video.

  • '

CNC machine robotic cutting this metal and must be cheaper

  • Mega geil! Ich würde aber mal gerne wiessen wie hoch die Genauigkeit ist bei solch Geschwindigkeiten.

  • GULP..... i think i just came

  • simply beautiful process

  • This is what i want to go to school for but im not sure what college teaches this.

  • I think it is not enough to be a simple machinist to do this 5 axis CNC jobs, you need to be an engineering educated to control thise machine.

  • tool porn

  • does the music come with the mill? I am not interested if it doesn't.

  • @leloodallasmultipass Hell yes, this music is awesome!!! I totally agree with you.

  • i would love to see how much gig of memory it would take to build some of this stuff!

  • it must be WAY fun to do the CAM programming for this machine!

  • so if i leave this machine overnight i'll come the next morning & pick up an engine ?

  • so beautifully!

  • söylenecek söze gerek yok

  • GibbsCAM

  • someone know the music name of this song?

    !??? thanks

  • @ERAMIX1 I asked the same question directly to the guy that uploaded the video about 2 months ago and I'm still wating for his reply. lol, so let's keep waiting for someone else to help us out. lol.

  • It's called "Eramix is Gay" by the Homos.

  • @JTMarlin8 noch so ein dummes frustriertes kind auf der welt, das keinerlei hobbys hat

  • 2:44 is just...wow

  • 3:04 is just...wow :) I do setups on cnc machines and this just blows me away.

  • so do i, hehe :)

  • I want to know what cam system they are using.

  • @565Customz i think hes talking about using the program and making it up 4 the cnc to use that would take a lot of time putting in every movement of the tool and chuck

  • Plastic injection molds anyone?

  • I mean someone had to program the software.

  • How the fuck would you program that??

  • @BurningUp99 carefully...

    lol

jk..software does most of it for you, you just have to proof it.

  • Yeah but I mean someone has to enter all the measurements and calculations don't they? The machine doesn't know how to make a motor block out of a block of steel unless you tell it how. Just seems like it would take a long time to program the machine to do it.

  • @BurningUp99 not really. your cam package programs all the cuts, you edit it...like speed it up, or slow it down, to change a few angles, or whatever...then you just load it to a USB, plug it in the machine, indicate your material in, and press play. the actual design of the motor took far longer than the cam package did. (what i do for a living, drafting and design)

  • I'm thinking the same that shit was crazy

  • @BurningUp99

A cam system that produces the code to run the machine tool. The technology is amazing but what is most impressive are the brains that produce the logarithems that run in the back ground!!!!

  • thts nuts!!

  • Awesome Vid!

And I thought I've seen it all! lol

    Great machine and machining!!

  • makes me wonder what software they used to generate the toolpaths in half of that. 5 axis programming? No thank you.

  • dont know what they used for this vid, but you should check out openmind/hypermill. their software is amazing for all that type of stuff.

  • Whats the tune called??? does anyone know??

  • I want one...

    Make it two...

  • Man these Matsura guys must get ALL the ladies!

  • Does anyone know what one could expect to pay for one of these jewels minus tooling?

  • @MarsTSM, Just a guess, but after seeing some other cnc machines i would have to say about $140,000.

  • whaaaaatt thaaaattt fuckkk u want one in my house

  • lucky new students ah the technology

  • awsome this machines unbelivable

  • cnc=porn , this is sexy

  • KYUUBI2,

porn has NOTHING on cnc machines.

  • cnc>porn . . . . i stand corrected

  • @johnnytheprick

    I think it does... why?

Well, it is very appealing to watch a 5 axis CNC Machine doing all of those SEXY moves and sounds. lol

  • as amazing as cnc machines r, ive never seen 1 that can cut a sqaure.

i almost prefer watching this than porn....actually, i can watch this longer.

no offence ladies...........as if a woman watch something like this!

  • WOW you are sad!

  • Now that is fricking awesome! Technology shows practically and in action!

  • wow!!! all i'm learning on at my college is a 4-axis hardinge cobra machine from last centruy lol. This is beyond what i ever thought cnc could do as a new student to it. Incredible!

  • I'm astonished.

After running a 4 axis mill on a limited number of basic designs, this is impressive.......to me.

  • how hard are these to program??

  • - @ weenchops -

It's been 15 years since I worked with a CNC. They've gotten easier, but you can still easily crash a tool into the spindle and then you're machine is down for repairs. It happened a lot at the trade school I was at.

If you design the part in CAD then you do have the ability to send it to the CNC machine and most of them are able to figure out how to go about milling or turning.

If you had to manually enter coordinates for every point and movement you'd be there for years.

  • "If you had to manually enter coordinates for every point and movement you'd be there for years. "

I used to have a Denford Orac training lathe. All the moves were set on a membrane panel keypad. That was hard enough, but the damn buttons were very picky about being pressed hard. Many decimal place errors resulted in a tedious learning curve. I think the newer CAM software has collision warnings based on the machine and tool dimensions it knows it's running.

    I'd love that engine block!

  • qoute "f you had to manually enter coordinates for every point and movement you'd be there for years"

umm so how do you think people made stuff before cnc,s came out ....doh!!!

  • - @ Dragonstud -

    No, you misunderstand.

You would be there for a while keying data in. That's a lot of typing coordinates into a computer.

I've made plenty of complex parts manually on a lathe and mill.

  • poetry in motion , beautifull!

The speed of this is imense ..but really guys this takes all the skill from true "not all"engineering the programing and design alone is imense

but I would much rather see true engineering and hand built products

I also love it when these go wrong just as the piece is nearly finished ..damn gremlins with a big fat bill!

  • If this isn't true engineering what is? I think most people have absolutely NO appreciation of the complexity and detail work that goes into making a part like an engine block.

  • well make one by hand with a badger or sumit then get back to me lol

  • I've always argued if art is supposed to signify how humans advance in terms of understanding, ability and social awareness, machines like this deserve an equal but respect. They're an example of what humanity has achieved. No 'normal' on the street understands the kinds of forces and precision involved, how that was produced originally and what it can do. The first time I showed my artistic brother a video of a HAAS lathe it blew him away. No appreciation of were all this stuff comes from

  • Yeah you try making me a turbo impeller blade by hand for me and see hoe shitty it turns out. And as far as "true" engineering, all of that was done when the part is actually designed. Anyone can import a CAD model into a program that will write them the CNC program and run it.

  • iv been an engineer for 15 years and made parts for wessex helicopters by hand!!! so dont even start shit .....dont get me wrong iv worked on cnc,s but it takes the real hard work out of mechanical enineering compleatly not that any of you are engineers "probably"....I can make anything and I use that term loosely, these days i do just special effects everything is made totaly by hand which I enjoy alot more

  • you forgot all the hard work that built this machine..this is an engineering masterpiece

  • Would someone please buy one for me...? :-))

  • is there anything that the machine CANT do??!! one of the best lathes/machiners ive ever seen!!

  • Hey wow

    great

i`ve seen fife videos today antil now and this was really the best

  • fantastic machine, I would like to buy one, but I don't know. How much does it cost?

  • a few million give or take....

  • Greetings Pabel1612,

Owning a Matsuura is more cost effective than you think - certainly not the "millions" as some have speculated here.

    Cheers

  • A few million US dollars is not out of the question with a large pallet (as with the engine block), pallet pool, large tool hive, etc.

  • I'm guessing the mill is $300k (min.) + $200k for the indexer + $200k for an upgraded controller & other necessities.

  • Amazing. So sick. Very nice. :D

  • we have an old 750 Matsuura with a fanuc 6m the thing still holds great tolerences

what type of cam system are you guys?using?

  • Greetings theyampacurse,

We use what ever CAM system our customers use. We obviously have many different customers, & each of them has their own preference or imperative to use the varying CAM systems on the market.

    Cheers

  • i wud like to purchase this

  • No problem, do you have an order number or are you paying in cash?

    Cheers

  • How much does this machine cost?

  • On the contrary, most mass production engine blocks nowadays are cast using either Lost Foam or Investment Casting Process to attain the desired cost efficiency and productivity levels with minimal machining for finishing purposes. But for low volume custom made applications like Formula One and other custom made cars I would say machining is the norm. You can do a search for GM's Lost Foam Casting Process to give you an idea.

  • it all seems very impresive, but is this a cost effective process for engine blocks???

  • I would think so...one machine to do it all, no multiple set-ups or breakdowns, more engines in less time...it might take a while to make up the cost of the machine for a smaller company, but for a high volume auto manufacturer this would be money well spent.

  • i don't know about your less time thought it probably takes more then a day to make that block easy plus the machine cost. not very efficient but accurate. most likely high end cars only.

  • actually for a v-8 or more complex block the process would actually take several days to complete on a single do-it-all machine such as this...

  • It would probably be effective for producing the first few prototypes for a new engine, and possibly the mould parts for sand-casting of production parts. For mass-produced blocks, not a hope.

  • i see these robots hundreds all in one factory one day cutting everything needed by man 24 hours a day 365 days a week

one day is engine blocks, soup spoons the next. no pension plans no overtine no sick leave.

  • What do you mean?

  • the engine block in the beginning is a W12

  • i feel sorry for the guy who writes the programs although he probably make a fuck ton doing it!

  • Amazing, i cant wait to get into this stuff.

Anybody know the song? its stuff in my head, lol if your could please tell me then i would greatly appriciate it.

    WHATS THE SONG?

  • Now thats just fucking Nuts! WOW! 6 Stars!

  • CNC maschines reealy cool,we in school have

    Emco but nothing like this

  • holy moly!

  • omg! 1:41 how long does it take to program such a machine!?

  • Depends on what you want made. Some of the bigger things such as that V8 small block i would think programing it woulding take long, but the thing being made take a while.

  • Nice vid, but bloody corporate music

  • 很棒啊

  • It's a V12 :)

  • omg ... this is not normal anymore its ALIEN! lol

  • 한번 만저봐야 하는디.. 눈 커진다 흐미

  • cool

  • @ 1:43..omg thats really cool :-)

  • Why the engine block look so weird? If you make an engine block or heards or etc. will it look like that?

  • 不错

  • Every time I watch this video, I get a toolgasm.

  • How accurate cutting do these machines make?

  • You calculate the accuracy of these machines in microns.

  • what's the song in background ?

  • What is the diameter of the tool at 33 seconds in the MAM72-3VS slot? It looks tiny!

Great vids - keep them coming! Cheers

  • I could use one of those beautiful machines... amazing

  • that engine block gave me instant wood...how much does one of these machines run price wise??? I would love to have one in my living room ;-) Seriously does anybody know?

  • Greetings nicklking,

Even though there is a "standard" MAM72-42V machine, we have never supplied a standard machine into any market.

Each application has different drivers for the potential user, & we engineer the "solution" around the intended component / production process, so it is quite difficult to settle on a standard level of investment for a MAM72-42V - or indeed any Matsuura product.

Our prices do reflect the quality of the total solutions we supply - but we are very cost effective

  • i work on matsuuras too , 3 axis though but upgradeble to 5. respect 4 the programmer

  • insanely complex algorithms

  • So what companies out there are using these... and what do I have to do to join up so I can play with it? lol

  • I hope you have a lot of knowlege. The application engineer from Matsuura around the world or still working on the full capability of the 5 axis machining. These machine are very complexe. Why I know? I'm a service engineer for Matsuura.

  • that's absolutly awesome i never saw something before..awesome...

  • Watching this video makes me feel insignificant running a 3-axis CNC mill....flabbergasting.

  • the part is so large it disperses the heat

  • Man it sure sucks if the tool breaks running these. By the way how come you're not using any coolant?

    I ran a OKK VP600 5 Axis.

  • bugati engine w16

  • W12...

  • Veyron engine is a W16.

  • what kind of engine is being made at 1:45?

  • Looks like a small block V8 for a racing car. These mills amaze me.

  • I like this vid, i am working on this job in Feintool Technologie AG xD

  • Kinda makes my little 3 axis wood router look

    lame!

  • Matsuura is a very good five axis machine.

  • happy to see such modern technology being used to built a pure oldskool v8.guess thats to take hayabusa tops

  • perfect

  • And where can I invest in this company?

  • my dad is running one of those soon

  • I want one.

  • sweet machine!!

  • sweet! I bet that programer drives a nice truck!

  • Sold! I'll take 10 please!

  • felicidades muy buen video

    tuninglatino

  • holy shit the creator of the programs must be god or chuck norris !

  • I'm not an expert by a long shot, but I think they just use programs like Mastercam or Pro-E... it's as simple as drawing in one these programs and dimensioning. I think Pro-E has a 3D pre-machining function that shows you exactly what will happen during the machining process... very cool stuff indeed!

  • DAMMMMMNNN!!!! lol

  • I saw the V8 & W16 engine blocks in the flesh at Autosport International at the NEC in January on the Matsuura Stand. The surface finish is remarkable on both. They gave away DVDs on the stand with other Motorsport component vids on - I wish they would post some of them here!.

  • more matsuura vidz plz xD

  • Sweeeet! I could watch this for days!

  • WOW that's art!

  • what is the cost on a new one?

  • anyone know what song is playing in the background?

  • I'm Dizzy :~I

  • the machines can dance.revolution is here

  • lol XD
