Sorry I was off by .004 dude,, -.-' And Yea I own Both the 6.5x55 Swedish and a .300 WSM, Both are very impressive guns! I like the 6.5 for both medium game hunting and predator hunting. The 300 wsm is more directed at big game and stopping things in their tracks.. though i have headshot a coyote with it and the back of the head was missing.. but both are great guns for there respective game.
@slime1sticker2 yeah I owned one and it reminded me of a .270 round more than a .308 and this round though I like it and it's a good one is not better than a .308 and I did prefer my.300mag over it by a stretch.
I own a tikka t3 and a swede mauser in 6.5 swede and just love that caliber its fast becoming my favorite, i also hunt with a CZ 550 in 308 but i think the 6.6 is better
@LoveMassGenocide As far as i know, their aint any. The ljungman 42 or AG42 as called in sweden is constructed in the 1940´s. Congrats for the nice rifle anyway, the 6,5x55 swed is nice to shoot with, greetings from sweden, if you want something special for deer i recommend the Barnes TSX 130 Gr... awesome here att deers and foxes we got here, quick clean.....
@LoveMassGenocide I think there is an chekoslovakian arms maker selling an ar15 clone in 6,5x55. Or else there is 260rem AR15 clones. same bullet as in 6,5x55 but more punch to it.
One of the all time best cartridges. That 140g bullet will will fly as far or further and straighter than a 150g .308. A .308 150g FMJ bullet will consistantly penetrate 16" of pine, but the 6.5x55 142g FMJ M94 bullet will consistantly penetrate 28" of pine. The secrect of the Swed is the unusually high sectional density and ballistic coefficent. The 140g 6.5 bullet as a simular SD and BC of a 195g .308 bullet. Your uncle is a wise man.
My father built my cousin the same rifle, I thought you were him for a second haha... He built me one too, I love it, but I need a new scope. Can't seem to make up my mind.
@93hostang ya i really want to push this caliber out to 1000 yards. but the scope i have isnt good enough. i have been looking at the cheap bsa scopes, i think one of there scopes will be fine.
@9010814r dont ever buy a bsa scope no matter how good they look they work like shit you bump it and it goes out of zero go with nikon,, bushnell, or leupold just believe me and dont buy a bsa had one on my 7mm rem mag it was a piece of shit

6.5 = .264 its a very good bullet, high sectional density norwegian hunters used to take polar bears in the arctic with these rounds

hey if you slide your scope as far forward as you can you probably wont be hitting your bolt on it. That is a fine piece of history you have there.
