  • Riddick Bowe is a fucking bugger!

  • Yeah lay off of Tyson, he stubbed his toe in tokyo before the fight...thats why Douglas totally kicked his ass in his prime.

  • Shut up about Douglas. Tyson had neglected training and was 'screwing Japanese hoes like eating grapes' as he described himself.

That is why he lost. He was getting drunk, womanising and not training prior to that bout in Japan.

And after Cud DMato died he lost his focus. That is the reason why he didnt maintain his peak past the late 80s.

  • Maybe Jim Jeffries at 6'1-6'2", 220-230... Plus, u know he wouldn't have been scared of Tyson, lol... Not that it would matter much!!!

  • I think the only guys that would have had a chance against a prime Tyson are Foreman, Ali, & Holmes... maybe Frazier, a prime Frazier... But, yeah... Dempsey, Rocky, Jeffries, Louis??? All too small to contend with Tyson's power... P4P Louis would have stood a chance, but 6'2" 190 just isn't enough to withstand Tyson's power...

  • Tyson in his prime would have walked through Lewis. Tyson in his prime would have given any heavyweight in history all the trouble they could handle, including Ali. The only exception would be Foreman in his prime. People judge Foreman on 1 fight - Ali in Kinshasa. Had that fight been in the USA I doubt Ali would have won.

Remember how Foreman destroyed Frazier and Norton. He'd have done the same to Dempsey Louis, Marciano, Tyson etc. Holmes and Ali would have had the best chance against him

  • Wow... excellent points!!! This is the thing I been tryin to say: "Tyson in his prime would have given any heavyweight in history all the trouble they could handle, including Ali."

  • I also agree with this: "Remember how Foreman destroyed Frazier and Norton. He'd have done the same to Dempsey Louis, Marciano, Tyson etc. Holmes and Ali would have had the best chance against him. I think Holmes would have destroyed him & Ali obviously did (still can't believe it!!!) Foreman would have killed Tyson, though, lol

  • Nobody in the history of the division could have stood toe to toe and outslugged a peak Foreman. To have a chance against him you would need;

    1. To be very mobile with good footwork

    2. To be a smart / fast enough boxer to get in with your shots and out again without getting tagged.

    3. To have a rock solid chin - because a few of Foremans shots will get through at some point and if you get knocked down or badly staggered he would pounce on you and you'd be overwhelmed with power shots.

  • 4. You had to be able to hit hard enough to hurt Foreman such that it might make him hesitate when mounting his attacks .

    .

Putting Ali to one side - the HW Champ that possessed all these attributes was Larry Holmes. His style was perfectly suited for fighting Foreman. I can't say for certain that he would have won but he had the tools to be able to win. It comes down to styles; Holmes might beat Foreman but struggle with Tyson. Foreman might beat Tyson but struggle with Holmes and so on.

  • ...ended *up*

  • I know... It's quite obvious that Lennox's face would have ended looked like a bloody slab of rotting beef on the butcher shop floor!!! LOL... but, if your point is that Lennox's "greatness" lasted longer than just ONE year, I got ya... BUT... Nobody that EVER strapped on gloves had a more dominant era than Tyson in the mid-late 80's... and NO ONE would have lasted more than a round or two outta my top 5... Oh, sorry... IN MY OPINION, LOL!!!!!!

  • Doc, you completely NAILED it. Perfectly said, but pearls before a pig....

  • Just ask him out already, you brainless, Lewis slurping faggot.

  • You must be a superfag.

  • Your daddy has nuttin to do with this

  • My bad, that "doesn't take a genius" response was for WARRIORPRINCE not you... U actually have some sense, he's just a Lennox jock-rider... Anyway, I DO see your point... I just feel Mike was unstoppable at the peak of his confidence...

  • Whatever... all I'm sayin is that it doesn't take a genius to know that reguardless of who beat who in their later years... Tyson would have murdered Lennox in 88... You know it's the truth, don't lie to yourself...

  • Exactly... which is why I DO consider Lennox great... I never said he wasn't ONE of the greats, but not THE greatest!!! Still, though, 88 Tyson would have floored him... Tyson didn't become a joke till Holyfield upset him in Holyfield Vs Tyson I... Before that he was freakishly skilled & not just a bully fighter (alla Frazier) like everyone's tryin to say...

  • "...it was only a matter of time before he got KO'd."

You can say the same thing about Lennox w/his horrible defense, chin, & heart when McCall walloped him as well...!!!!!!

Besides... gettin KO'd (IMO) doesn't take away from a fighters "greatness." It's how they come back that counts (and the greats ALWAYS get their revenge!!!)

  • Here's my list BTW if u need a reference!!! (J/K I'm not really that much if a jerk, LOL) 10.) Sonny Liston 9.) Lennox Lewis 8.) Jim Jeffries 7.) Joe Frazier 6.) Mike Tyson 5.) Jack Dempsey 4.) Jack Johnson 3.) Larry Holmes 2.) Muhammed Ali 1.) Joe Louis
  • Ehh... makes sense, still though, Tyson when he couldn't be f*cked with was unbeatable... The only guys (in their primes) that I think might have stood a chance were:

    -Jack Dempsey

    -Jack Johnson

    -Larry Holmes

    -Muhammed Ali

    -Joe Louis

    (mayyybe Frazier... nahhh, lol)

    ...and THAT'S it!!!!!!

  • 1. Ali 2. Marciano 3. Gene Tunney 4. Jack Johnson 5. Joe Louis 6. Lennox Lewis 7. Dempsey 8. Foreman 9. Frazier 10. Tyson. But I'm not taking anything away from Lennox he's the man, but to say he's the best Heavyweight ever is just flat out wrong

  • WOOOW!!! First off... I agree with Lennox not being the best, but he should be teetering between 9 to 11 & NOT 6th... I got him over Foreman & Marciano on your list, but that's all... He's 9TH on mine... SECONDLY... MARCIANO SECOND??? TUNNEY 3RD??? LENNOX BEFORE DEMPSEY??? PLEASE MAKE SOME REVISIONS... YOUR LIST IS EMBARASSING!!!!!!!!! WHERE'S JIM JEFFRIES & LARRY HOLMES??????

  • All the "greats" that Lewis beat were washed up & past their prime... Lennox had horrible defense, questionable heart, & a brittle chin... He was great on talent alone... That's why he'll NEVER be the best... Sorry, kiddo...

  • again, you're an idiot. Lewis beat a who's who of the fighters of his time, whereas Tyson RAN from Holyfield for years, he RAN from foreman, he RAN from Mercer, he RAN from Bowe... and on and on

  • Do you have proof that he ran from anyone? What's that? You don't? Didn't fucking think so.

  • He didn't...

HANNIBALLECTURER's just so hard on Lewis's c*ck that his sperm blinds him from the truth... Nasty, I know... But, quite simply... TRUE!!! Haha... Lennox is the BEST!!! Got anymore jokes, or is your LIFE it???

  • Oh, so I guess Larry Holmes wasn't a GREAT fighter... All HE did was start his career 48-0 & annihalated Ali & basically everyone in his path... UNTILL Tyson... LOL, get ur facts straight idiot

  • Holmes was over the hill when he fought Tyson, you complete mental retard. Tyson himself said so!

  • Sorry, had Mike in there twice...

  • And just for you Brits... I won't even mention what happened to Lennox against Oliver McCall in '94... IN HIS HOME TOWN!!! LOL... glass chin much??? I think so!!!

  • OKAY... Too bad Louis was only 6'1"-6'2" & the same with Rahman... Besides... Tyson FLOORED guys Lennox's size plenty of times... And don't even put Lennox in the same sentence with Joe Louis & Muhammed because he'd get absolutely WRECKED...

  • That's why no one, except your fellow Brits are agreeing with you!!! Ya'll are such homers, it's pathetic... Shed the inferiority complex British people!!! I'm American & I LOVE Ricky Hatton!!! Joe Calzaghe is annoying, but a great fighter... Why can't ya'll admit that Tyson was GREAT??? I admit that LENNOX was great!!! Not the greatest, but definitely Top 10... Hmmm... it's kinda pathetic how clearly your ineptitude shows... blokes, LOL

  • HEAVYWEIGHTS BETTER THAN LENNOX LEWIS:

    -Jim Jeffries

    -Joe Frazier

    -Mike Tyson

    -Jack Dempsey

    -Jack Johnson

    -Larry Holmes

    -Muhammed Ali

    -Joe Louis

    ...AND THAT'S BEING GENEROUS

  • WORLD TITLE DEFENSES:

Joe Louis (THE GREATEST) - 21

    Mike Tyson - 9

Lennox Lewis... Well, he had 3

    PERIOD!!!

  • I was talkin about "hanniballecturer"... I don't think he knows ANYTHING about boxing... I went to his page & he just seems to be a know-it-all... Anyway, in terms of HW's I put Lennox 9th, Tyson 6th on my all-time list... Understandable that you have him 2nd, though... But, bein American I'm a little less biased...

  • You went to my page and found out I was a great deal smarter than you. Tell the truth.

  • Lennox = GREAT champion, but with overrated power & a suspect chin... Called himself the LION, but I certainly questioned his heart after Rahman ROCKED him...

Tyson = The greatest "K.O. king" to ever strap on gloves... Lacked size, but his all-around speed/power would lay Lennox out... One uppercut caught flush & Lennox would be sleepin...

  • and all I'm sayin is that prime for prime I'll take Tyson over Lennox all day...

  • There are multiple problems with your claim.

    1) Lewis met Tyson in 84, and he did well against him.

    2) Tyson ran from fighting Lewis in 86. 3) Lewis is older than Tyson, and don't give me the "Bigger fighters age better" nonsense.

  • First of all... Tyson destroyed Spinks & HOLMES: TOP 5 FIGHTER OF ALL-TIME!!! Secondly, if Lennox in his prime fought Tyson in HIS prime (especially with Lennox's iffy chin) Lennox wouldn't last 2 rounds... We'll never know, obviously, but come on!!! I mean... don't lie to yourself...

  • Holmes was over the hill. Spinks was never a true heavyweight at all. You know jack shit about boxing.

  • Comment removed

  • Besides, at least (unlike YOU)... I'm able to be subjective enough to recognize Lennox as a great champion & an all-time great... Your head's so far up your ass that you refuse to recognize Tyson's greatness... Just shows how immature & egocentric you are... And I don't know shit about boxing??? I have my gold gloves in the state of Pennsylvania & boxed as an amateur straight outta HS... Now, I study it like a science... Sooo... before YOU talk why don't YOU think?????? Ass...

  • Sorry, but you have it backwards, you complete asshole. I gave you good reasons why Tyson is overrated. I pointed these out for you, and you just ignored them. This proves that you're the dogmatic shitbrain here. Deal with it. I know its painful for you.

  • Tyson would annihalate Lennox... and so would:

    -Jim Jeffries

    -Joe Frazier

    -Mike Tyson

    -Jack Dempsey

    -Jack Johnson

    -Larry Holmes

    -Muhammed Ali

    -Joe Louis

    PERIOD

  • Jeez, you're a true moron. Tyson and Lewis fought in 84, Tyson couldn't destroy him then. Lewis offered Tyson a fight in 96, and Tyson RAN AWAY. When they finally fought, Lewis OBLITERATED him. Those are the facts, you fucking dribbling piece of shit.

  • "dribbling piece of shit"

WOW... Who needs to grow up again??? And for the LAST TIME... I said 88 Tyson, NOT 84... Go back & finish grade school, Einstein, maybe then you'll learn how to read simple English...

  • well-stated...

  • My ALL-TIME list has Tyson 6th & Lennox 9th... Both legends & all-time greats... Tyson's prime was shorter, but more dominant... Prime for prime I'll take Mike...

  • Tyson's prime was not dominant - he KO'd nobodies. He NEVER beat a champion level fighter. I wouldn't put Tyson in the top 10.

  • Lemme guess, your British??? Haha, wouldn't be surprised (HOMER) Oh, & u wouldn't put Tyson TOP 10!!!!!! I'm not a Tyson cock-rider, but I'd CERTAINLY put him TOP 10!!!!!! And, CERTAINLY over LENNOX!!!!!!

  • Please try something new before posting: Think. Name one great fighter Tyson beat. Since you're an idiot, I'll answer for you: No one. He never beat a champion level fighter. He didn't dominate against anyone worthy of note. Lewis kicked Tyson's ass. End of story.

  • Comment removed

  • HANNIBALLECTURER SAYS:

    "Tyson's prime was not dominant"

    - HUH??? HAS TO BE THE MOST IDIOTIC QUOTE OF THE CENTURY...!!!

  • Seeing as you're no where near my league, its not a surprise that my comments are too difficult for you to grasp.

  • I agree with you on Lewis. As for Tyson's rank: he's obviously behind Holyfield, since Holy beat him twice. I'd rank Tyson behind Foreman as well.

  • Correct. Tyson NEVER beat a champion level fighter, instead, they all knocked him out cold. Tyson ran from Lewis in 1996, just see the Tyson Lewis 96 video here on youtube. Tyson also ran from Foreman and Mercer.

  • i dont think there is any such thing as the greatest heavyweight of all time. each man was the elite fighter of his own era.

  • SO? should I add Lennox Lewis to my next (Who was the greatest heavyweight video part 2?) He is on my list to do just that. good video. and I do agree that Lennox Lewis never ducked anyone, that says alot about him as a fighter, but more about him as a champion. great fighters should never duck any challenge (i.e. Riddick Bowe) who was never going to fight Lennox. I have alot of repsect for Lennox and what he has done in the sport of boxing.

  • you are all fuckers and stupid !

You always speak abaout who is better or not you fuckers ? There is no one in the world who´s best. The sense of life is live and die. There was Alexander The Great, then Cäsar, Napoleon and all had their personality strenght. And boxing has their own periods too. Louis, Marciano, Ali, Foreman, Holmes, Tyson (but he was not constant and mentally he was no champ), Lewis and maybe one day one or both Klitschko´s will follow in this big list !

  • I understand he WON all his big fights, but alotta them came past their prime, & Lennox's chin is suspect... Rahman rocked him QUICKLY, & maybe he got his revenge, but he shoulda never LOST in the first place

  • I understand your argument... but, if Tyson was Lennox's size, Lennox wouldn't stand a chance against '88 Tyson. Plus, I think Lennox's power is overrated... There are ALOT of fighters I'd take over Lennox...

  • Oh yeah!!! I forgot about Gene Tunney!!! Good, one... but I still have reservations about Lennox at #3, but besides that excellent list!!!

  • who did i snub in your opinion?

  • lol, excellent points

  • lewis beat every fighter there was to beat. it is pointless to bring up the klitchko fight becoz the facts r lennox was overweight and 38 and lennox almost knocked him out in the 6th. Tyson didnt have the heart of a champ lennox did. get over it

  • Lol, "The Lion" was a beast, though... He's 9th on my list...

  • P.S. FUCK DA BREH-ISH!!!

  • TOP 10 HEAVYWEIGHTS OF ALL TIME: 10.) Sonny Liston 9.) Lennox Lewis 8.) Jim Jeffries 7.) Joe Frazier 6.) Mike Tyson 5.) Jack Dempsey 4.) Jack Johnson 3.) Larry Holmes 2.) Muhammed Ali 1.) Joe Louis ...POINT, BLANK, PERIOD
  • glass jaw! lennox only got knocked down twice in his career!

  • well it did matter, but it also mattered that he Ko'd them in re matches. he also whupped holyfield, something tyson failed to do. dont get me wrong, i like tyson, im just pissed off that he wasted his talent.

  • lewis also got revenge for his defeats, by knocking out both mc call and rahman. so fuck all u haters

  • Tyson wouldn't have beat Lewis period, he didn't have the tools to beat Lewis, Tyson was a small heavyweight with short arms, in his prime he fought nobody of Lewis' calibre.

  • lewis destoyed tyson ..u fool ..how dumb r u to say he has nothing on him lmao

  • lets get this right lennox is not the greatest but defenatley deserves to be up there he beat all the best in his era. when he thought klitchko he was 38 and overwieght and in the 6th round klitchko was all over the place if u actually watch it

  • yeah if the fight wasnt stopped then lewis would have knocked klitschko the fuck out. he couldn't see the doctor, how would he see a punch?

  • Only pity is fucking Bowe never give Lennox chance to "fix" him in pro,Lennox is the greatest, fucking Bowe is bloody coward.

  • Gotta admit it....Lennox was the best by a long shot while he boxed. Whether or not he could have beaten Ali? Personally, I think he could have, although it would have gone all the way

  • excuse me, i'm sure u got this before, but Ali is the greatest heavyweight of all time

  • thing is khalifornia, in there given time, ( era ) i would say at least the top 5 or 6 heavys were all capable of beating each other with a knockout. the differance between any of these fighters would probably have been concentration in each particular fight. lennox did lose his concentration in two fights being mc'call and rahman. but he didn't lose it in the re'matches.

  • tyson tried 2 take lewises head off in the opening round but afterwards lewis managed 2 outbox tyson an using his advantage

  • Lewis sparred with Tyson 2 years before Tyson won the title in 1986, thats why Tyson never fancied fighting Lewis. He dropped a title and paid $4million to him so as not to have to fight him! He was scared of Lewis and he admits it.

  • i agree with most here, Lewis would have dispatched Ali in 7 rounds, without doubt

  • it would be a lot less then 7 rounds, i give him 4, 5 if he's lucky.

  • Lewis would KO ali by round 7

  • EEEGH WRONG! Lewis has more technical skill than all them guys put together and he hits lika fuckin mule razor rudduck a man who went 12 rounds wit tyson lennox laid him out wit one punch! n look what he did to rahman theres no denying his knockout power but i said ali would have trouble with his technical skill hes one of the best technical boxers of all time.

  • Lewis is definately the greatest of all time. Too much power, too much skill!

  • awesome fighter awesome guy i train at his gym

  • Lennox was a superior fighter but nobody could match up to Ali and i dont think Lewis would have survived.

  • i didnt have a ring so they fought out back on the trampeline lol. but ya ill keep u up to date lol.

  • ive almost got mine built but i used it for a prime ving rhames to fight a prime mr t and i broke itlol jk. but ya joe louis is just too great to compare.

  • only one hed have trouble with is ali. alis footwork and speed is just phenominal ask cleveland williams lol. but at the same time ali would have problems with lennoxes knockout power and technical skill.

  • he is without a doubt the absolute best of our era no denying that fact at all. but i think it is unfair to compare him to fighters of different eras.

  • Because he wanted Tyson to pay for his talking! He beat him badly, and decided to finish him in round 8!

  • Both past their prime.

  • Lewis would school Joe Louis (lopsided decision)and win a chessmatch-battle against Muhammad Ali (MD or SD).. I believe Lennox Lewis is the best heavyweight of all time.

  • 250lbs 6ft 5 and got the skills to pay the bills.... I wouldn't argue with anyone who said he was the best ever, I think even Ali would of struggled to deal with the size of Lewis.

  • Lennox Lewis is such an amazing boxer. On a good night, I'd say Lennox would destroy any boxer from any era. He was just too big and strong and fast for anyone to handle. He fires out that left jab and keeps you at bay and then when you try to come inside you eat a HUGE right. Ask Mike Tyson.

  • best HW since larry holmes. as far as comparing to ali, louis n all them he falls a lil bit short against most but he'd beat some like marciano n others considered great

  • nice. Thanks for posting this Andrewilliam.
