@6btl6 I was at 1700m and glided to 1200m. There was a lot of gliding in rising air at that time. About the cloud suck: you surely have to be careful. Leave it early when the thermal accelerates under cloud base. Make sure you can always reach the edge of the cloud.
@6btl6 The glider has a 1/15 glide ratio. Wind and lift was helping in that stretch. 1/50 glide ratios are for sailplanes ;-)
