"10x harder than BC" .......... In what way? To you Ontario planters, spacing involves taking two steps in a strait line to then slam a tree in. Not only do we have some crazy steep land but our quality standards our way higher. Study the history. Its not just the land we have to plant but also the standards we have to maintain which make our trees worth so much more.

i bet us Alberta guys could make stupid cash doing coastal work since we know how to MOVE. (if this guy made $450 on that day, $1000 days would not be out of the question hah)

If an Alberta guy like you tried planting some of our truly coastal ground you'd probably find the least of your worries to be the pile of logs you just dropped in your pants.The coast is not the prairies, think of climbing the monkey bars up the side of mountain planting a tree every chance you get to actually see terra firma instead of your repetitive 2 step prairie shuffle. That prairie technique wouldn't get you anywhere. That should now read 'his 20th season'.
i've done ontario, which isn't steep, but is 10x harder than anything in AB, BC, MB. ive got ski racer legs so hills are good to me. there's no reason why THAT guy should be going THAT slow in THAT land. i feel like since your used to really high tree prices and you dont know that fast gear. if your used to MOVING you do what it takes it HIT your pace and rip it up whatever shit your in. try sticking your head out the window on the way to the block.. that should help you feel SPEED + acclimatize
I'm definitely not at my fastest in that video but I've planted well over 2 million coastal trees in 20 yrs. I'm one of the top planters for Rainforest Silviculture; probably the strongest crew on the coast, 5 of our planters started in Ontario and will correct you as to which place is harder to plant I planted in Alberta and I definitely knew how to MOVE there too. If you want to test your $1000 theory try getting hired on the coast, Last fall I made $750 the same day another guy made $900.
I planted for ten years in the US ..OR and WA coast mostly but all over Northwest.. almost all hoedad some shovel too.. you can tell right off you know what your doing..20 years damn..your crazy ! cheers bro...
@withdirtybags is that the end of the day or something cuz you're really draggin ass in the video and to be honest i've seen land a lot tougher in the interior....not to say that it isn't tougher land on average on the coast.

I remember that day. It was a crew-plant piece, finishing off the day. First bagged up and out of the blocks gets the creamy treeline. This was him.
