@justinfrnfr my alarm does sound like it's tied to a metronome but it's not. What makes that "skipping" sound is that the horn and the strobe are wired together so that when the strobe flashes, the strobe sucks power from the horn. And that's what makes my alarm produce that "skipping" sound when the strobe flashes
CX series? what exactly is broken on it, the test key mechanism or one of the glass support tabs on the other side? If it's one of the tabs, you could try supergluing it back, but if that doesn't work, you'll have to get a new one to be honest :/ My KAC MCP series call point (think it's a MCP1A) broke, because i lost the key and had to yank down the front to reset lol
yeah, a CX, but the whole thing is just stuck. the locking mechanism is shot, and since i use the plastic resettable element, it's stuck. apparently the maids knocked it over and stepped on it, so it got broken. guess who had to pay for her broken ankle(but didn't)!
The amazing violin playing almost makes the alarm not sound annoying :)

that's useful. What locking mechanism? the tabs on the underside to open it or the test key thing in the bottom left?
Antipwnsurmum 2 years ago
the bottom left thing.
pivotous 2 years ago
Oh, the test key mechanism. How in the hell did that break lol

pivotous 2 years ago
They probably won't replace it. :/
Antipwnsurmum 2 years ago
fsck... similar thing with Simplex. they won't replace parts, but for a fee, they'll replace an entire unit.
pivotous 2 years ago
Yeah, plus they don't really have an obligation to if it wasn't their fault. Call points are not expensive at all lol, £7 for a fulleon CXL.
