This was either staged (like they had permission to use the building) or CGI. I'll believe that they could control the power going to different rooms in the building, but powering each room doesn't automatically turn the lights on. Every light switch would have to be flipped on for the entire duration of this.

fake, as an avid after effects user i can easily tell when the lights come on/off. when they zoom in on the guy in the window in real life you wouldn't even be able to see inside when the lights are off, and you can still see the bright spot from the light source. looks like they just overplayed a semi transparent black layer

You'll need to build a small circuit with delay switches that connect back to a computer that has a long-range wifi signal with some more homebrew shit... and there your done.

Basically you need to know programming and electronics. :p

I think this is plausible, considering pretty much all office building lights can be controlled by a main system. They do this to make it easier to shut off the building lights quickly. The only thing that is fake is the fact that they are not actually playing. It would be too difficult to coordinate reactions between the computer and the lights that quickly. They make it seem as if they have controllers in their hands but that is nearly too difficult. Other than that, I think its legitimate.

@Jantr15 Umm...Macs, I'm no huge fan of them or anything, but they would probably be better for hacking due to their immunity to windows OS viruses, since most companies or huge buildings like that usually run windows for its office tools and such. Also, it wouldn't really matter what software you have when he's directly screwing with the networking and wiring like that, since you're doing the hacking manually that way. I'm not a cracker though, so I wouldn't really know, I guess.
