  • Wow the actual masterpiece here becomes a lame supporting part for this dumb@ass 80's guitarist and his annoying tone.

  • NOooooooooo!!! They just killed Agustin Barrios again.................

  • I CAN PLAY THIS AND SUCK TWO COCKS AT THE SAME TIME

  • It's one thing to be great like steve vai, but it's another to be great like sharon isbin

  • Amazing piece! For purists this would be a waste of time. However, for those that love the genres of classical and rock guitar music, this is a tremdous combination! For the "purist" classical guitarists, if Sharon Isbin didn't think it added value she wouldnt have played with Vai. Mind you, you might even think you are better than she or Vai is?

  • sweet : )

  • This is for jmr1410, SCREWED SOME PARTS!!!! ARE YOU INSANE??? Every one of Steve's notes were placed and played perfect, you have no clue what your talking about, how can any body with normal brains criticize Steve Vai? You people have no idea what your talking about, He's a Berkley Grad, Transcribed and plays some of the most complicated pieces of music the planet Earth has ever know but these little guitar hacks living with there mom talk shit....Get a life...get some talent...

  • @RickCosta555 So true. Every single note is made exactly as he want it to be!

  • @knutanders95 THANKS.,,CAN I SUCK YOUR COCK?

  • @RickCosta555 OH..YOURE SO CUTE!!!THANKS FOR THE BLOWJOB BABY!!!

This is bullshit, La Catedral can't be "improved", anything "added" will be SHIT. The bends and such are completely annoying and from 2:30 it's pure shit, really.

  • @GldPlat Obviously your the pure Shit for your closed minded statement!

  • @BotSsoldier Wow wow, calm down. I'm not closed minded, this is just plain bad. Man, do you like listening to this? If you do enjoy this, you clearly don't know much about guitar playing. What Vai plays totally destroy the value and meaning of this piece. You clearly don't know much about Barrios' work. This "thing" doesn't really make sense. There are good ways of experimenting with music(and appropiate pieces to experiment wtih), this is obviously not one.Maybe, in some years you'll understand.

  • @GldPlat totally destroys*

  • This is so beautifull. Steve Vai sometimes can destroy a song, but this is beautifull

  • he screwed some parts, and however the combination remains interesting

  • @jmr1410 I didn't find a single mistake... It's freekin jazz you idiot!

  • too bad its not a video.Total sweetness at 2:30, wow! i love it! Like when i heard Steve Howe with Manuel barrueco that was sweet all the way through.

  • Remove the 14 year old with the crap tone and it would be fantastic

  • Mah ... !?!?!?

  • Beautiful...I don't get it why people dislike this.

  • @LordPrutsikas - People may dislike the video which is absolutely STATIC!!

  • Which one pictured is Steve, and which one is Sharon?

  • Ah... the marrying of genre's! This is exactly how not only rock music, but also classical, jazz and any other style you can think of has come into being. I dare anyone to dispute the unmistakable truth in this fact. It's a shame there are many closed minded people on all sides of the fence that will attempt to do so in spite of how silly they appear to anyone who has ever studied such things in reality. It's how everything we as humans have created and therein lies our beauty as a species ^_^

  • Segovia is probably turning in his grave!

  • @lukavlasic

    Great comment!!!!! My exact thoughts...

  • @lukavlasic why?

Carajo!

  • NO ME GUSTA, ARRUINO LA SUPER PIEZA LA CATEDRAL,

  • This is soooo good. I dare Sharon (with all due respect Maestro) to improvise on a Vai tune.

  • This is the best !!! Steve vai, of course, is a Master.

  • Steve Vai ruin everything. it is a shame

  • Sweet! I like when Steve doubles the main section. Very nice.

  • Where's the video? That would be so nice. Classical folks really enjoy this kind of thing because their repertoire can get a bit predictable and narrow.

  • For all of those who ill invest their time watching something & then comment negatively, they seem to have forgotten the browser button marked as "X" which shuts the disliked page down. Unfortunately for now we'll continue hearing from these ill minded people untill they can find the button. If someone dont like something why watch it and then say I dont like it. Its like continuing to eat something & then say it was horrible. Please be smart and simply tune to a page that matches your liking.

  • For all of you geniuses, music has been interpreted in many different ways since way before Barrios. I'm sure he did his fair share of interpreting pieces by his heroes and influences. If you don't particularly like it, that's fair, but calling it horrible is something completely different.

  • @gmbsa23 anda a chuparla

  • This sucks. La Catedral is a beautifull piece, but all we hear is some cheap improvisation on top of it.

  • @Vipsces damn when I see comments like this I really get angry. If you only hear this "cheap" improvisation then you have some serious problems with your ears

  • @soviensoradopo

I'm fine with you getting angry.

  • Hmmm so many bad comments like horrible and espantosa XD. nemogre u say that hes playing just simple lines, what do u expect from him to play blues or jazz? Think before u comment lol. Im pretty sure ppl who dont like this its bcause this is new to them and if Sharon would perform with Yngwie J. Malmsteen they would put their thumbs up. I just recomand to open ur minds and try to accomodate and process new stuff.

  • What's not to like people, - faved.

  • The poor lady is sitting there playing her ass off and vai is just playing simple lines on the guitar xaxa

  • @nemogre They cant both be playing fast lines with arpeggios that wont work srsly, just because its simple doesnt mean it doesnt work!!

  • this is just awfull

  • I love it

  • WTF. New name "La Disasta"

  • i liked that some good feeeel!!

  • Comment removed

  • this is awfull

  • I now see the down side of artistic freedom. This is putting ketchup on ice cream. Doesn't work.

  • fantastico. 2 great artists expressing their art.

  • chorei Ç.Ç

  • It's different but it definitely has some really great moments

  • haters, Classical music needs vacation, and Vai gives it

  • Sweet....

  • that's okay, this is supposed to be an appreciation for the guitar, and if you don't play guitar, YOU JUST DON"T UNDERSTAND :D lol...but seriously this is beautiful merge. Two musicians so talented and accomplished collaborating together wouldn't spend the time to spit out anything other than amazing.

  • I think it would be better if he had a cleaner jazz-like guitar sound without the distortion, I don't care for the mix.

  • Big Steve Vai fan and Classical guitar/music fan as well but this really doesnt work at all. noodle over this piece whats the point?

  • I love Steve Vai's music, and phrasing ON rock music. This simply does not mix well

  • One of the things I like most about this is how much it pisses off the puritanical classical folks. Absolutely perfect.

  • @floatingpoint1 You're right, it pisses the piss, semen and shit out of me. Fuck this

  • I really don't know what to say. I don't dislike the arrangement although I've heard better. I do however dislike all the comments. The word you are all looking for here people is MUSICIAN!! BOTH are extremely accomplished musicians and Vai is not a shred head even though he knows how to!! He brought the electric guitar to symphony music for God's sake!! Give him a break!! More haters in this thread on this beautiful piece than I've ever seen! Disgraceful and Disrespectful!

  • horrible

  • Steve Vai´s guitar is NOT AT ALL NECESSARY IN THIS PIECE! If I was Agustín Barrios, I´d demand him for spoiling one of the most beautiful pieces ever written for classical guitar, and her for letting him do so.

  • @diegoarboli demand huh? Noypi?

  • @enduggy I meant sue him.

  • i dont understand the comments below. this is awesome.

  • @irockyouroll I love classical guitar and I love Steve.... but it's a bit like pickles & Ice Cream.

  • Music is a beautiful language in the right hands, thanks for sharing...what a beautiful unorthodoxy...

  • when and where did this sacrilege happened?

  • Just heard the piece on npr, this collaboration is amazing! \m/

  • I love how easy it is to pick out the shred-heads on this comment section. You can tell just by the comment someone leaves, whether or not they were expecting a pure note blazing fest, or some actual subtlety and nuance.

  • there is an NPR piece on this compilation....I just heard it....this is not the first time the two have worked together. Isbin has two Grammy's to her credit...she is one of the best if not the best living classical guitarist in the world today. I think the compilation is F__kn awsome.

  • @yadajazz

por qué de la gloria ajena?

  • I really...don't like it...sorry xS

  • @MonsieurPaulC You're not required to like it. But at least you gave it a fair shot, and you were not rude about it.

To each their own, no need to be sorry for having different tastes.

  • This is funny, I feel shit. I wounder howe Vai lost his way at 70.

This is straight to the bugget trash box. Marty Friedman can do

soft nice exotic guitar playing, Vai cannot.

Fuck the girl and leave the music.

  • yes! Vai is not a shredder he is a musician, sorry folks..

Go to a buy a fucking malmsteen CD if you wanna hear to much notes per second.

  • @LennartIbanez Malmsteen is too a composer..

  • @MrEdischu and a musician..

  • I don't quite understand the pretentious snobbery here. It's not like Vai is mindlessly noodling like the typical shredders. He's actually complementing the music rather sensibly and carefully.

Of all the things to piss on (Bieber, Rihanna, Katy Perry, coldpla(giarists), you decide to rip on two world class musicians for challenging your preconceived notions towards classical music.

  • This is just so, so bad...

  • This is great. I like it.

  • epic fail..

  • hei haters, where is your brain guys?? this is awesome....

Vai is not locked and trapped in 'already known' stuffs.. like most guitaris do..

even i dont really like this kind of music (isbin style), still this is awesome

  • I have a recording of Yamandu Costa play a famous A. Lauro valse with Paolo mouro playing clarinet over it.. and why not. It's different than just the guitar. if you don't like it there are dozens of recordings to like. Here's a 'hooray' for trying something different :-)

  • When I read the title I thought this was going to be good.

  • Don't you mean Sharon Isbin plays La Catedral while Steve Vai strangles the neighbor's cat?

I don't want to dismiss it the whole concept of adding electric guitar parts to established pieces, but this is just a string of clichés which sometimes passes for improvisation in prog rock guitar solos. Both Vai and Isbin look bad in this.

  • Music soothing for the soul.Very very beautiful.

  • this is tacky as hell

  • Did they get stuck in the 80's? Ugh.

  • Big dislike!

  • Poor Barrios! Steve Vai killed him!

  • what a wank

  • awesome!!!!...

  • UNA VERDADERA OBRA DE ARTE !!!

    AGUANTE STEVE VAI !!!!!!!!!

  • yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!! buena esa steve ,algun dia por paraguay

  • thiss is awesooomeeee...!!!

  • OMG!!!!!! Awesome!
