The rn took my bp and the cuff was loose. My bp was 130/85, would a loose cuff increase the bp on a numbers standpoint, or would the number decrease, or possibly have no effect? I'm worried because she said it was high
The brachial artery isn't always in the center of the elbow crease. You should feel around the area with your index and middle fingers for a pulse. When you find the pulse, place the diaphragm (bell) on the site of the brachial artery.
this is weird he doesn't look like a doctor maybe because he doesn't have the ego that doctors have am always used to doctors that tellinfo like nobody is around and enjoying listening to them selves
ideally it's the belle actually as stated in books, but in practice we use the diaphragm. Brachial pulse has a low pitch sound the reason why we should use the belle :) anyhow we always use the diaphragm as it is more convenient and effective
I started taking Levodyn because i was keen to bring my blood pressure down without resorting to prescription medicine. i have been taking it for less than 4 weeks but have already noticed a change. Before taking Levodyn my blood pressure was 152/86, it is now 128/76. i am really impressed.
@Ingeniousduration Are you a doctor?

@Michael117american loose cuff = artificially elevated BP

This is very wrong. brachial artery is usually closer to the inside of the arm. around the bottom of the bicep.
