  • That rolls but without Rick

  • I imagine at the beach, having a cold bear and a hot bear. :D

  • I'm in lve with this song XD

  • stumbled across this vid and i thought i was gna be rick roll'd because of the title :P glad i stayed on tho!

  • @bobbed1720. They broke up and unfortunately the bass player died while in Police custody sometime ago, still a controversy in the UK. The lead singer and Kevin the keyboard, I think, are still doing one off shows and keeping the 'Youths' music alive.

  • what ever happend to them does anybody know

  • @bobbed1720 Keyboardist is Michael Grant and now runs his own record label, 5AM Records, in the UK. Got this info from an episode of Never Mind The Buzzcocks that he appears on (s22e11) that I just finished watching.

  • @clintlotter thankyou for letting me know

  • Pretty cool little song. I agree after 1999 it all went out the window in a hand basket.

  • music below the 1999 is the only music worth listening too,

    anything past then is shit..

  • @TANKprideSZ totally agree there , i was only born in th 90's and think modern music is just plain shit

  • At last I found this video.

Have been looking for it everywhere, as the song brings me back memories of early 1983. Wonderful! Absolutely wonderful!

I love this song and the video.

    Thank you.

  • my aunties and uncles could have been in this song looool.

  • Good tune!!! This song make me feel irie!!!!!

  • The video also sort of seems to promote Jamaica as a tourist destination, which is cool.

  • This video has a nostalgic feel even though I don't remember the song from back in the day. The eyeglasses look a bit awkward, but you gotta love the mini-skirts! Nice song, too.

  • This is real 80s reggae at its best.

  • They sang a lot of great songs. Incommunicado and Watcha Talkin' 'Bout are two of my favorites.

  • none of my friends remember this lol i loved this!!! great great times

  • They are like the Reggae Jackson Five <3

  • OMG!! I remember this like yesterday. It was back in 1983/84, filmed in Jamaica, some scenes on the ground of Titchfield High School in Portland where i was a Student. I actually identified myself in the scene on the playfield and the little girl who Kelvin was chasing from the beach is my sister. I still have pictures with them in my photo album. Awesome!!!

  • OMG. I remember this like yesterday. I actually have pictures with these guys in my album. This video was filmed in Portland back in 1983/1984, I think. Some scenes were filmed on the grounds of Titchfield High School with the students and others around Port Antonio. I actually identified myself in the scene on the playfield and the little girl that Kelvin was chasing from the beach to the road is my sister.

  • Listening to musical youth makes me feel good to be human

I am from Chile, and I love the band, but i can't hear all very well all the lyric, because I dont speak very good english . Thanks!

  • @ninetiesbaby10 He died in 1993 attacked by natural causes, according to the press, it's something like hereditary heart condition. Also, he got so much trouble with the justice before his death because of some little bad things he's done.

  • @balisemusique Patrick is the young on the bass

  • DAMM !!! Love the chap in the speedo !!!

  • R.I.P. Patrick Waite. Love your tunes & always will brother. Rest easy friend.

  • The little guy has an awful voice.

  • @TG1980

    Lol!!

  • Best video on youtube. Trouser gags, terrible dancing that makes me feel OK about being just as bad, laurel and hardy bench stunts and the zoom in shot of the kid at the end - poetry.

  • Jamaican Jackson 5 ?

  • @iTzUniQue WOMP come harder next time this is musical youth not the shit 5

  • @iTzUniQue not brothers

  • @jack2breeze Well not all of them, but they were two sets of brothers and one dad who pretty much guided them

  • @jack2breeze bio on their site: musicalyouth-dot-net :-)

  • @DJFreez thank u

  • Classic.....

  • lol @ the 80's

  • I was obsessed with this band when i was four years old in 1984 and stilll remember every word to every song on their album - my family thought i was mad as a four year old in love with Kelvin and still all talk about this band now when they talk of me being a wee girl - brings back such good memories - this was my favourite tune of the album - never gonna give you up - no no - no matter what your mama says no no.... love you always Musical Youth!!!!!

  • @Tasha6779 Lol. I hope you were able to catch them on TV One's Unsung episode a few weeks ago. It was soooo good and your Kelvin was on there :)

  • It's been 27 years since i've heard this track & now i've found it on Youtube

  • wish we would get musical youth rolled instead of rick rolled

  • love this group reminds me of my school days, what a laugh... brill, whatever happened to all of em, i know one of em did time for something but what about now.

  • Why is dude wearing the same outfit that he did in pass the dutchie?

  • @jenniferdjangleheart

    You noticed that too??? lol

  • @jenniferdjangleheart noticed that!!!!

  • @jenniferdjangleheart Because it's cool

  • @jenniferdjangleheart its cos all the colours of the t-shirts they wear represent the colours of jamaica

  • @jenniferdjangleheart Probably either because both videos were shot at the same time or that was the uniform look of the group that the manager had them wear to promote themselves.

  • never gonna let you down...

  • i wish instead of getting rick rolled id get musical youth rolled instead

  • musical roll lol

  • my all time favourite band, i was 11 when they were about and im now 39 and i still listen to them xx

  • these peoplez are pretty good actually, I didn't know of them until now.

  • As a teenager who annually goes holidays camping in Wales getting pissed, i feel i can really relate to their lifestyle.

  • i loved musical youth takes me bk to the 80's

  • i find this video so cute :)

  • youthroll'd

  • better than rick astley

  • Air tickets cost more than the making of the Vid....you got to admit the girl at the beginning look like a deer caught in the headlights with that smile!

  • OMG! This song makes me reminisce about when i was little and heard the song. Beautiful memories Men

  • a real blast from the past - thanks !

  • "never gonna give you up, no matter what your mama say..."

  • Wicked shot of that 727 landing, far better planes back then than now. Everything was so much nicer. Society is horrible today, so much CCTV and laws. Sometimes I wish I was that little bit older - forget what they say about 'hate getting old' everything looked so fun back in the day.

  • @Backin1985 Hahaaa this is such a funny comment. "Everything was so much better in the old days - even planes!!"

  • @Backin1985 It wasn't all roses and candy; the country was addicted to Nicaraugan Cocaine, aids was running rampant and no one understood it, Reagonomics, plastic clothing, leg warmers, the Cold War, John Hinckley, racial tensions were nearly boiling over, etc. Don't let Nostalgia glaze over the truth of the matter, it had its own problems that were just as bad as today.

  • Maybe Youthroll'D

  • luv diis song..it stayz on repeat

  • is this youthroll?

  • This was my 2nd favorite track next to Pass the Dutchie on that album. Played the hell out of it on my 10th birthday. Damn, that's 27 years ago.

  • 1983?!!!!!!!!!!!Daaaamn where's my youth gone?! Wicked track Sure does bring back memories of chasing girls round the play ground!! (and getting knocked back!! lol)

  • no, if you look at the cd list of songs, and google, and even youtube it, its dutchIE. the song was a cover of Pass the Kutchie by the mighty diamonds.

  • i love this band. when i was a todler, my brother would play me Pass the Dutchie

  • Them Boys Have Talent, I Was Alive WHen They Were Out BUt My Mum Plays This Tune All The Time, Its A BIG TUNE Alie :)

  • say one Kelvin on a megaphone stand, say all mi school friend call me Brooke Bond, mi short me no tall but me know how fe talk, me short me no tall but me know how fe talk. Ayahhh!

  • Cool. This is my first time ever seeing this. Such a happy video. Thanks for posting this!

  • This reminds me of when I was younger... I know it was released as a single but was it also the b side to pass the dutchie?

  • that would be so hardcore if he was really saying that

  • in 1:54 it sounds like he says B*itch haha

  • i always wanted to go to a island =) were are they in this vid anyway?

  • @Karusaka Jamaica

  • Wrongly labelled as one hit wonders as they had shit loads of hits back in the day. What was the one with Donna Summer?

  • unconditional love

  • @mainface great song

  • Yeah, but technically, as popular as they were with Britain, "Pass The Dutchie" was Musical Youth's only hit in much of the world outside UK.

  • & your problem is ?

  • Somebody should cover this again! This was such an awesome reggae song, especially after Musical Youth did this. I could imagine Sean Kingston singing this! This totally fits his vocal style, I think.

  • Love them, they were so fierce.

  • the one with the hot coffee was breakdancing on limestone before his date

  • just breaks the guitar over th kids head i think that girl over reacted lol

  • 2:22 OUCHHH

  • Was not the drummer ,Patrick Waite died ,he was the bass player and vocals.I did know Patrick Waite.R.I.P

  • They were so cute and adorable with a fierceness when they sing - surely in touch with their JAMAICAN roots

  • lindo cantaban los sambos, arriba alianza

  • Thanks Dontevenlietomydad. Sorry, I don't know many people from St Kitts. Most of the Caribbeans I know are from Jamaica, Barbados and Trinidad.

Many years ago I think they did a gig at the Barrel pub in Oldbury but for some reason or other I didn't go. I remember seeing them at the Bull Ring Market in 1982?? at a record stall but I couldn't get an autograph unless I bought their album. Unfortunately, at the age of 13 my pocket money couldn't stretch that far.

  • iLOve jamican accent haha & i love reqae its bewtifuLL.

  • That is Jamaica by the way. That's where the boys' parents are from.

  • Is Dennis still working as a car salesman in West Bromwich?

  • i had this record loved it, used to sratch it haha
