  • PUNCH! USE YOUR ARMS, YOU HAVE TWO ARMS, PUNCH! PUNCH THE SHIT OUT OF EACHOTHER!!!! PUNCH!!!!

  • I did this once and a hit the kid in the balls....

  • the weaknest for this kick is fake kick and step back and headshot!

  • I like this technique... I'm gonna used it at a tournament after watching this, and it totally worked. Thanks!

  • MR.Sang H. Kim Your Double standard. Your Sucker and Fucker.

    I come from Thailand.

  • at the start i see only some mistakes, he's got his hands down, his back is exposed, he's moving too slow

  • @Aizu034 He was going slowly so the students could keep up, I assume they were relatively new.

  • i dont see any roundhouse kick, its turning side kick at 0:02, 0:05 and full moon at 0:49 and another turning side at 1:09.

  • his name would be kim

  • ummm just a question? in the begin he shouts "bashier" or somthing like that? Why do they shout like that cause a guy at my tkd shouts the same way.

  • omg respect !

  • Isn't he just using Dwi Chagi as counter?

  • that is not a round house kick counter that is a back kick or know as a spin side kick wat the heck

  • @62wheelz its a roundhouse kick counter becaue its countering a roundhouse :)

  • @SantoryuWazamono oh okay lol i think i didnt read the description right lol i was looking at other videos and some ppl actually called a spin back kick a round kick and i was like wat the heck lol but yeah

  • Very good advice - thanks!

  • is good to be able to move like that... but this i think is for points only... from martial arts point... you being kick... hes recieveing the kick on the back wich for a martial art is really dangerous. from a SPORT point of view is a gained point!!!... it is not a martial art anymore since you thinbk to win...

  • Karate?

  • wow this worked in sparing thanks alot

  • @100microsoftsam You're welcome - glad it worked for you!

  • @turtlepress me too.

  • If someones go skill and experience, who care if he's cocky or not?

Take what you want and leave your own ego restriction away,it impaires your ability to become a true master.

  • How could anyone misconstrued this for cockiness? He's a fucking instructor. It's so fucking obvious. Jesus, I hope those people who think he's cocky are like 8 years old or else the planet is doomed.

  • oh.. so that's how it should be done.. no wonder I always end up losing.. I keep on attacking..

  • u gotta have spidey sense to counter like that xD

  • Sounds a bit like my master, except we learn traditional TKD, not sport based.

  • wait, was the counter sliding back when he kicks, or using back kick when he gives a roundhouse? or both?

  • @DoubleCresentFilms back kick is the counter, sliding back is to adjust the correct distance for the back kick

  • @turtlepress alright.

  • good video

  • sometimes you need to know the distance

  • always good to know how to counter attack, seeing as i dont ever wish to learn one way of fighting cos in each fight ya need to adapt :) oh the joys of fighting and learning and stuff.

  • 0:01

  • even tho i don't think he is cocky, but he can be all he wants, and i would LOVE to see you idiots challenge him....he would knock your head off before you fucking blink!

  • If you google him, it turns out that he does training for Korean special forces. "As a special agent during his military service, he developed tactical combat methods for hand-to-hand and hand-to-weapon combat for covert operatives." This guy is no joke! :)

  • @neutrino78x i wouldnt mess with any master on any martial arts. my respects for them. specially my sensei.

  • nice back kick counter

although id be more worried about his hook kick

    BOOM

  • i bet he couldnt counter chuck norris's roundhouse kisk

  • how is he cocky?? just dont see it

  • there was no roundhouse counter - only a front leg hook kick and a back kick

  • se utilizan las manos!

  • smart techniques

  • NOBODY CAN COUNTER CHUCK NORRIS ROUNDHOUSE KICK

  • @RoflFacepalm cuck dosent need to spin the world does it 4 him xD

  • @RoflFacepalm bruce lee can

  • @kid4pr he is fake and gay

  • love your style. love your attitude. greate master. Whish I could have a master like you...God bless

  • he needs to keep hi hands up and that counter only works if the other person is stupid enough to throw a rear leg roundhouse insted of a front leg if you want to speak in terms of sparing no one uses rear leg kicks their just to impractical

  • i thought he was speaking japanese for almost this entire video.

  • i do muay thai and practice this too

  • nice

  • good demostration just did not understand what language he is speaking .

  • my Judo coach ,had the same manner of speaking .But no-one laughed at him, he was creating an aura of respect around .Maybe because he has the highest dan among non-japaneses!

  • he is a bad ass man and tkd teacher he is in korea a superstar in tkd and the army

  • All that kicking with no defense. Just asking to be knocked out!

  • @minasz yeah, but this is WTF sparring practice. It's a sport, and it is retarded to criticize WTF sparring in the context of an actual fight, or even mma.

  • @sknman92 actual fight and sparring is two different things in a real fight you dont give a damn about rules you just do whiat you need to do even if its a nutkick or jamming a finger into someones eye in sparring you just wanna practice you skill and try to be better in time good to see that someone knows the difference

  • @sarangahe LOOOOOOL, man try to put some punctuation...

  • @bamboomkin aaa sry aboput that here is some punctuation but you need to place then yourself .......... xD

  • Try Fast Fist a sparr training tool ant time you want to train

  • all i know is he has an accent

  • Holy crap, It's Scotty Johnson!

  • TKD is just a bunch of fancy kicks, it doesnt really prepare you for anything. If you get into a fight at school or on the streets unless your excellent at tkd you probably wont win, karate and kung fu are better martial arts to learn in my opinion. tkd is basically a show sport you throw a kick in a real fist fight youll get your ass taken out

  • @Nukelearne A good fighter, fast, flexible and with good coordination can use TKD extremly effectively. It has really strong kicks to KO opponents.

  • @raydredX not against an experienced street fighter

  • @Nukelearne

My friend did full contact TKD, his roundhouse kick would break your arm if you tried to block it. When it's done right, Taekwondo is brutal. You can't judge it based on the Olympics or what you see on Youtube.

  • @Woolfrey ya the olympics meen nothing it all comes down to what your friend does in his backyard

  • @Nukelearne

I don't get it, are you trying to insult me? I just dismissed the Olympics and you're agreeing with me and simultaneously trying to belittle my own experiences in the same sentence.

Here's a tip, instead of talking like a hotshot on Youtube, go learn some martial arts from a real master and maybe some humility as well.

  • @Woolfrey ive taken kempo for the past 2 and a half years, i look down on taekwondo because ive been to many tournaments with taekwondo practitioners and they dont really have any sense of fighting. All they do is throw a bunch of meaningless kicks for show to impress the judges..how does that prepare you for anything? if they get in a street fight theyre done.

  • @Nukelearne

I said it before and I'll say it again, go find a real master. Your 2.5 years of Kempo and watching a few sport TKD tournaments don't count for anything.

  • @Woolfrey a real master? how ignorant do you have to be to say that you piece of shit your about the most worthless person ive ever argued with.

  • @Nukelearne lol, as if Kempo karate isn't just as pathetic. The kettle calling the pot black?

  • @Nukelearne okay dude. i have been taking tkd and a mix of other martial arts for about two years now. its not the style its the fighter. in the 3 fights i have been in since i started training 2 out of the three i have won. with kicks. if you dislike the style sooooo much than dont watch the vids and keep your comments to your self

  • @Nukelearne competition tkd is not the same as traditional tkd, which is very similar to tkd, unfortunatly with the rise of tornaments tkd has changed to mostly a sport. buh make no mistake if u realy reserch tkds arsenal of attacks include, elbow, hand and knee strikes as well as similar to judo throws and similar to hapkido locks. it is an effective form of martial art. if u ever come across an experience tkd guy ull see sumthing similar to karate and muay thai

  • 0:35 - actually, the question is WHY would he "kick" from a distance that makes the target unreachable...

  • excellent

  • The caption-speed of the camera (very low), makes me dizzy and my eyes hurt too...fun to watch hehe

  • Am I the only TKD practicioner who punches?

  • @telkamps You're not alone.....I hear you....

  • @telkamps Nope, I do.

  • @telkamps nope. i punch during free-sparing, but its only good for short-range attacking. otherwise its hard to get into your opponent's field of defense and deliver the blow.

  • @telkamps yes haha

  • @telkamps I'm a tkd blackbelt and I punch on the solar plexus to get the air out of my opponents..

  • i do rear jumping thrust when my opponent attack me by using roundhouse. it is quite difficult for beginner like me to do spin kick to counter that attack even my spin kick is fast and devastating. in the match, my body feels really heavy so i throw a rear jumping thrust to my opponent it works though. so, it is worthwhile to train my jumping rear thrust kick with a wall. my next second tournament is just 1 month away. i better get fit from now and learn more techniques!!!

  • Cocky my ass, He's the best instructor on youtube apart from revolution of kicking.

  • @emilandersson91

    Master Kang!!!

  • I do this all the time in my style and my master never "sees" the point.

  • Perfect application of classical conditioning in sports...dudes a good teacher!

  • This is good..

  • hahaha thts funny well if u didnt do tdk if u did tht would save from a knock out to ur head

  • i would not mess with that old man..

  • he isn't cocky he is giving a demonstration and making more engaging for his students.

  • I know it depends on personal preference, but strategy wise, is it smarter to spar open position or closed position?

  • It's not about personal preference.

It's about where you will be able to move more freely in the next 3 moves you have.

A person fighting against someone from Kyokushin might want to protect their ribs.

A person fighting against someone from Mudokwan will want to use their arms more for balance.

But, either way, cover yourself and react fast.

People in TaeKwonDo only react but don't cover at all, because they would dodge before they cover.

  • Cannot really hear what he says so cannot judge he is cocky or not. But he is sure good at kicking. Just imagine me trying to give him a round hound kick just to receive a kick back in the face. Would hurt.

  • @bonehomarketing If hes an instructor, he can be cocky... It gives students a form of motivation.

  • He's S.H.Kim...he's allowed to be cocky :3

  • @bonehomarketing yeah me too and after watching the moves i read the subs its slower but helps anyways :)

  • @bonehomarketing Not if you are Chuck Norris. ;)

  • lol how is he being cocky?

  • One more thing. When hitting a heavy bag with a spinning hook kick it doesn't seem as powerful as a spinning back kick. Whatever you call it aside, just wanted to say I wouldn't use it in a fight so am I doing something wrong or is it just naturally an accurate wet willy as opposed to a beefcake knockout?

  • make sure you are rotating your hips through first on your spinning hook kick without seeing your kick it is hard to tell what your might be doing wrong you should be able to get enough contact to knock someone out. It sounds to me like your not fully rotating your hips through and trying to just use your leg for power. if you post a vid of your kick and title it "my hook kick" i will look at it and let you know what i see

  • @fredbloggs02 Back kicks use your weight to amplify the power of the kick. Hook kicks use speed from the rotation.

  • Good vid. His teaching style is crisp.

No point comparing to MMA because this version of TKD being taught is to do with points scoring (like in the Olympics) not Full Contact.

    Points.

    Good vid.

  • I sudy Muay Thai which is really practical. Only problem with it is you get a lot of aggressive assholes like Bowser666 in it so I avoid the nights when those natures mutants surface.

  • bowser and ffka u two are acting childish... but bowser i don't think u don't have the right to call somebody a rookie until u actually meet then in person.. it plain rude! anywayz... please don't shower me with trashy words if u read this... just trying to say my conviction...lol

  • where is this at?

  • What ever became of Byoung Yu ?

  • because I don't need videos on you tube to be happy with what I am doing, I am not trying to show off. Just because of the reason that there are a Million Tube Tards like you out there that don't have good training and wouldn't know what they are looking at anyways LOL. I am done wasting my time on you. Go beat up the 10 year olds in your Karate class ROFL. Future replies will be deleted since your IQ is quite low. I feel like i am talking to a 12 year old. Adios.

  • ROFL , you are living in a fantasy world. For the record I actually study Shaolin Longfist. Kung Fu. Been doing it for almost 3 years and about to test for my black belt. For the record. I also forgot that I am probably dealing with a 16 year old and those convos go nowhere. Later rookie. Go back to your crazy kicks in fantasy land.

  • Why so aggressive towards someone half your age big man? If you truly were secure in yourself being so aggressive wouldn't occur to you....Do you get taught the snake form, is that it?

  • I saw of your videos on your channel and you certainly have the skill of a white belt. Keep practicing though. Some day you will get there.

  • Sure it does, go back to your video games where you can actually rabbit punch someone to death ROFL. You have obviously never been in a fight before. At least not a physical one.

  • LOl cuz rabbit punches have knockout power ? ROFL spoken like a true white belt.

  • That's what i asked my coach

He told me that there are different types

one on them is that you only do the back kick without looking

    what he has done

  • he did a back kick

our coach sometimes trains us to do such kicks and i find it useful

  • punch in a head is not legal dude!

  • Yah, retarded WTF rules. Punch to the head illegal in sparring ? What BS..............

  • @Bowser666 it's a sport. calm down. can't we relate boxing to WTF sparring? I could say boxing is BS because they don't kick and only punch, but boxing is boxing, and WTF sparring is sparring.

  • @FFKAbluebelt If you can make it before he kicks you.

  • im in taekwondo and i find wen someone comes at u and u do a counter kick especally when u do a.... 360 i find it hard!!!!

  • muay thai

    muay thai

    muay thai

  • Open stance. back leg roundhouse with defender countering with back-kick.

  • I don't why TKD fighters never put their hands up.

  • Because they're trying to bait their opponents into attacking so that they can counter with a kick. Also TKD fighters are so fast with their legs that they can simply dodge or counter attack before getting hit. People that don't know about TKD always say that TKD is no good, or that they suck for leaving their hands down, but TKD is one of the best MA out there. If you want to see how it does against experienced fighters, watch the Human Weapon show on TKD. Just search for it on youtube.

  • I've seen it, i'm not bashing TKD. Just i'm so used to seeing rip offs and stuff, its disrespectful to the MA itself. Where i live, i don't find TKD taught very effectively. Do you train TKD

  • I agree...I've been in TaeKwonDo for almost 8 years, and even though i do leave my hands up almost all the time for punches, almost any self-respcecting TKD fighter will be able to dodge any kick and counter, or if they are rlly good, even a storm of punches. TKD is deadly. You really have to feel bad for ppl who arent fast enough to dodge or counter that still leave their hands down. there's this one kick at my TKD school that I always nail with roundhouses cause he just never learns.

  • You keep your hands down to keep them safe; TKD is for fighting TKD if you try to block a kick and get it in the hand you could take tons of damage; as well as an arm block. For the most part moving out of the way or countering is the only option.

  • I'd rather have a broken arm than a broken face, kthnx

  • tkd grandmaster told me that punches are like weakness for tkd fighters. but if they mix with boxing, they are invincible.

i been doing boxing and i just started kick boxing and i fucking love it. done bit of tkd before lol that helped me with kicking

  • @JCSAP123

Well the grandmaster is wrong, cause I'm no where close to being invincible =P

Maybe cause My tkd training isn't that great yet.

  • well there are other fighters i know that leave one hand up and the other arm blocking the stomach and rib cage. It is a very useful stance to block both kicks and punches.

  • We are taught both ways at our school. It is more of a comfort level and what works best for you and your game. I like jump crescent kicks personally and as I found out last Friday night during sparring class if you are quick enough it works well for scoring points. Being aggressive seems to earn better results.

  • Excellent, functional TKD. This is the kind of TKD that I can use in MMA with great success. Fantastic stuff, thank you.

  • A square stance in wrestling is pretty well balanced. That dosent mean your going to get in a wrestling stance like a dumb ass if some one starts walking towards you or running towards you to attack you. But your not going to hop on one foot and start juming around either. You want to be quick but not unbalanced in a fight. If you know how to wrestle right your well balanced. The hip throw if you balance correctly can hurt someone.

  • Blance is everything in wrestling so i dont know what your talking about. Wow you live in a small town that no ones ever herd of and your "feared". If that is true the only reason for that is probaly no one knows anything besides kicking and punching.

  • LIke i said it depends on what the sistuation is you just dont go running up to someone with them looking at you and roundhouse kick them in the face. Because most of the time that dosent work. The round house kick used wislely can be fatal. What i ment was that it should not be used in most accasions. If anyone ever came at me with a round house kick i grab and put them on the ground in a heart beat. But thats just me.

  • The whole reason TKD was created was for self - defence and self- defence only. They aren't just some flashy kicks for movies, the Koreans used TKD in war and was proved succesful against other un-armed people.

  • well a real martial art is a weapon created for war, martial art means, soldiers art, yes TKD is 2000 years worth of korean martial arts

  • My mate is a blackbelt in kickboxing and when he kicks, it's so fast you can't catch it, and it god damn hurts, I don't quite know how he does it but he flicks his leg out and in this one fight at school, the lad couldn't walk for a day because of my mate, he kicked him 3 times in the same place on the waist and then the lad fell down, and my mate just beat the shit out of him... so whoever says kicks don't work, your wrong.

  • Roundhouse, Axe, turning long, jumping turning long, jumping turning 45-- you DO NOT want to use these in a street fight. They take too long and you're gambling your timing. If you know how to spar well, then you'll know how to make use of your stances for blocking, dodging and attacking. Moves you'll use most of the time? Your fists, a 45, and a sidekick. Solar plexus at all times. Or well, just knee em in the nuts. That always gives the best results.

  • Well a good fighter must have a good mind, dodging is something you should only use for attacks that are very difficult to block, dodging takes alot of energy to do frequently, but actually the listed kicks are very easy to use in a street fight, you just have to have good timing, if u used lets say an axe kick to open the chances are it will fail, but lets say if I first off balance him then kick him in the stomach I have plenty of time to use an effective axe kick

  • @Vorgoth911 not really that much energy to dodge its harder to block for me i have much more endurance than strength in a fight

  • ya it doesn't, but my current martial arts I'm studying i kempo karate , so I guess I'm thinking more of group fighting =P

  • Dodging is really subjective. I don't make it a habit to block because I'm not that strong to withstand hits. On the other hand, I'm fast enough to dodge hits. You can't rely on good timing along in a street fight, and I know that based on experience. You need your reflexes and your head. Obviously an open axe will fail, but using it as a follow up won't get you anywhere as well. The moment you land your first hit, the other guys would have landed blows on you. Fights aren't always 1-on-1.

  • ya I know, Kempo Karate allows me to handle 4 opponents at once. I made it a habit to block when I was pretty young. The only reason why I dont like to dodge very much is because I like to stay close and for me its easier to go into a block into a strike, than a dodge to a strike, but thats just me

  • @Vorgoth911 yeah i have long legs and short arms so i have a long effective range cause im a soccer and rugby player too =]

  • You should pick up mixed martial arts if rugby is your game like it was mine. I was the best defensive out centre my highschool had to offer so I reckon takedowns in mma will probably come nicely. A bit like a dump tackle.

  • If dodging takes alot of energy to not do frequently, then you just dont have the stamina to be a real fighter.

  • amen to that

  • :S i reckon it takes more energy and time to recover from being put off balance from blocking strong attacks than to dodge them and throw counters at the same time..... but thats just me...

  • ya everyone has there own way :)

  • The best block in the world is not to be there. If you bait your opponent into throwing a strong attack, and he misses, he'll be off-balance for all the time you need to get in there and do your damage. My personal method, and I've found it uses less energy than trying to power through someone's blocks. But that's just me. I'm built for speed, not power.

  • if your on the street and somebodys coming at you weither its one guy or a group you dont want to be throwing all those high kicks and round house kicks. Number one they dont work unless their completely unawair. And number two all they have to do is catch your leg and then you better have a plan because your pretty much screwed. Its cool to see on tv but in real life leave that crap alone. things like wrestling are better because they give you basic fundamenals and balance.

  • Not true. I've used many kicks efficiently against others. They worked in my experiance, maybe not in your case.

  • I agree I've ended fights with 1-2 kicks, I especially love finishing fights with a kick when they come in charging defenless, only takes one kick to finish those lol

  • Yah, kicks can be powerful weapons. I've learned this the hard way, and now I also teach others the hard way. :P

  • lol

  • Martial Arts I study: TKD, BJJ, and Kempo Karate, wrestling does not teach alot of balance like alot of people think, its shows you how to use weight as a weapon, I'm very experienced in group fights because I live in a fairly small town and people don't want to fight me alone if they do want to fight, fight I give off a chicken kick to gain alittle distance, then I quickly come in I start off with some very painful strikes then I finish them off with kicks, the key is combination, and timing

  • I gotta say, TKD is one of the most impressive yet incredibly impractical forms of martial arts out there.

  • Tang Soo Do IMO is much more useful in a real fight. TKD is too fancy and showy. But hey its an opinion, I still wouldnt want to fight a master of TKD

  • No I agree that it's too fancy to apply very well in real life. I think just the fact that it focuses solely on kicks makes it impracticle. Personally, I think Karate is the most practical and useful for real life situations, though nothing in Karate is really all that flashy or exciting compared to most other martial arts.

  • Well my first style wasTKD, my second BJJ, and my third Kenpo Karate,TKD,is extremely powerful,it may just look fancy, but its physics,if you spin your going to pick up momentum and the kicks power is going to increase,if you jump and kick down, your weight + the speed will equal the impact on the opponent , 1 well placed kick can take an opponent out of commission, now Karate has its advantages too, but TKD finishes things faster, and there are kicks you can when your opponent is 8 inches away

  • Right, but it's impossible to kick without leaving yourself very vulnerable, so it's just irrational to not somehow include punches, BJJ is fairly practical if you are only facing one opponent who for some reason agrees to BJJ rules and you dont want to do any serious damage to him. All in all my vote's still for Karate as most practical but that's just my very unprofessional opinion.

  • Lol... one well placed anything can put any opponent out of commission. Spins are used more like feints in high level competition. Any short left or right hand is enough to put someone down, you probably never fought someone skilled in a street fight, most skilled people wont even get into a street fight they are smarter than that.

  • well to me it matters on the martial artist and not the style, TKD seems fancy but believe me, its the first martial art I ever learned, I've been practicing martial arts for about 10 years now, and all those spins, jumps, twists, falls, all serve a purpose, its not to just look good lol, spins increase momentum thus making the kicks much more powerful, jumping, does the same, twists work the same way, and falls serve many purposes, 1 good kick can easily take someone out of comission.

  • Im learning TKD's parent TSD, trust me i know that spinning and jumping help kicks. But when i spar my master to practice and he goes for a spinning hook kick to my head, i can usually duck under it and get a perfect roundhouse to his chest. Spinning should be used as a counter when theyre guard is down (or at least this is what im learning from my master) and jump kicks should be used to follow up a strong hit that lowers their guard

  • TKD is a mixture of 2000 years worth of korean martial arts, I practice TKD, BJJ, and kenpo karate, and I've never used BJJ, or kenpo in a fight because my TKD techniques finishes them off extremely quickly, easy to settle something without throwing a punch or grappling, but it really depends on the martial artist and not the style,

  • My thoughts exactly.

  • 0:25 aaahhhh

  • the guy on the right was doing the roundhouse kicks......
