  • thats like my backyard

  • those some nice tuna

  • @mjdietle yeah they are nice tuna

  • I agree with alaskan fly guy. You can grab its tail but dont put all the weight of the fish on its spine. They can get all messed up. Nice fish though.

  • where in NY is this? Looks like a great place to fish!

  • wow some big freakin browns

  • aren't the first two salmon

  • never pick a fish up by its tail if you are going to release it. Messes up its spine permanently

  • never pick a fish up by its tail if you are going to release it. Messes up its spine permenently

  • C&R?

  • @TheRedSkin2009 Of course

  • @flyfishingjunkee

thats good! here in germany are many ppl who dont catch & release...

I hope that they will change their opinion about it.

  • Awesome

  • at 1:31 did you say 32 mile creek?

  • thought there was just concrete in NY lol, nice fish. why go to Nz flyfishing when you have them back yard.

  • what test are u useing

  • Did you catch and release?

  • @iCantTinkOfaGudName No , Bagged Em' & Tagged Em' , Made An Exquisite Sandwich Though...

  • @MrJoeMother LoL

  • @iCantTinkOfaGudName Of course

  • what wt fly rod did you use and where was this located in ny

  • @sablimnoclam 6-8wts upstate New York

  • Nice fish and well played someone should tell tandjone that no one loves brown trout more than the people that spend time on the river fishing for them, and to lecture someone that has the skill to catch a 25" + brown trout on fishing etiquette is just ignorant

  • Great Video. Don't let the "purists" get to you. I know how it feels, get up at 4 i the morning to catch these puppies and then get critisized. Keep up the good work.

  • Really gross to eat, catch and release I hope

  • nice fish

  • nice beautiful browns man i live in florida but go up to waterville, PA to catch em' like that, they got some pretty big ones in slate run.

  • beautiful browns man.. thats awesome!

  • I do not know but when i see salmon and trout those arent the same trout as whats in real freshwater streams,

  • Amazing !

  • Dude! That is fishin!

  • for a fish that big, not that much of a fight...

  • Comment removed

  • you are so lucky that u got the chance to fish in that beautiful wather !

  • Thanks for sharing, prince or koffman?

  • I see you fellas don't bother with any nets if so you would need a big dip net . I wish I could find fish like that in Missouri, way to go.

  • Salmon might turn brown given the color of the water there.

  • oh guy´s, the first fishes are no brown trouts!

the first one are salmons, because the fin´s are hard and you can hold them with one hand

a brown trout has a spongy/soft after fin!

sorry for my bad english ;)

  • none of the salmon species in ny will ever turn that color. it is a brown.

  • @2Jaeger of course they are Brown trout

  • @2Jaeger oh you must be the type of fisherman where you dont go out and actually catch fish, you just sit at home and critcize people who do. if you actually beleive any of those fish are salmon, you shouldn't be allowed to fish.

  • @2Jaeger Hate to argue but those look to be lake run browns

  • @2Jaeger your a tool, why are you watching this if you cant even tell the diference from a brown and a samlon!

  • @2Jaeger lulwut, all salmonids have a soft 'after-fin', called an adipose fin. Plus it's brown. Y'know brown, as in 'brown trout'?

  • unreal, the sizes you guys are getting on the regular, michigans tributaries also

  • Come to Wisconsin, You can catch browns like this year round from open water in Milwaukee or from most of the many Great Lake tribs if you're looking for a wilderness getaway. Many 30+ lb fish caught yearly, just waiting for a new world record, it might be you...

  • very nice browns

  • where is this?

  • when they have hooked jaws that means that they eat other trout!!!!!

  • no, it means it is a male in spawning season.

  • yh i'm 13 aswell and everyone at my old school made fun of me because i liked fishing

  • Anybody wants to buy a professional hand tied flies? Personal Message me? :) 4 times cheaper then the stores?

  • then?

  • What do you mean by "then"?

  • what do you mean by "then"? Or do you mean "than"?

  • I have no clue why you said "then" to me..

  • I know. If I say I have flies cheaper THAN other places, its proper english. If I say its cheaper THEN, that's a tense, and improper english. Its like saying expecially or pacific instead of specific. Now you should have a clue. Or not

  • what was your point of that?

  • im 13 and i love flyfishing besides skating its my favorite hobbie. i hope in the future there is more people doing the sport because i wouldnt want people losing this great sport!!!!!

  • dude i know how u feel

im 15 and have been flyfishing since 12 or 13 and i also like to skate and play guitar

im like the only person in my whole school i know that flyfishes, including teachers

  • lol i know!

  • wer u live,.. usa??

  • uhm...yes?

  • Wow!

That is about all I have to say...

  • I know EXACTLY what both of you mean I'm 13 and just got into it about 6 months ago. I can't get enough of it, it's in my head all day and all night. NONE of my friends from school would ever fish with me let alone fly fish!?!? LMAO but best of luck to yout two!

  • where is this?

  • Comment removed

  • incredible fishes , hope they all live for ever in your little river, cause our amount of fishes became very rare :(

    greets from germany

  • All from eighteen mi or any farther east?

  • very interesting, those are some great fish im a kiwi and we have some ok fishing here also. is that new york state. lol never thought of great fishing when i think of america. are these trout out of a lake and in there to spawn. great video

  • @hotansexy71 Really? Montana is world Renown trout fishing! U have to know that?

  • must be older video or you got some sweet spots, I dont see anyone else in your videos.

  • nice! despite carefully editing setups and landscape, very informative!

  • Were you nymphing? what weight rod were you using for these hogs and what time of year was that

  • never caught a brown trout, they look like fun though...

  • absolutely awesome fish by the way!!! lol.

  • those browns are by far bigger than anything i've seen over here in the UK. does anyone know why it is that they seem to grow that much bigger, that much more easily in north america, as opposed to in europe?? just wondering out of interest as i'm quite new to fly fishing. after all they are a european species.

  • those are by far the largest browns ive seen. Nicely done

  • Wow. Time to try fly fishing! Thanks for posting this video.

  • awesome. what flies were you guys using?

  • Jealous!

  • lol, one of those trout was almost as fat as it was long

  • FAT fish!

  • those fish are pigs :)

  • i recognize almost every place in there. nice fish guys!

  • those were awesome bigger than any fish ive cought

  • best one was at 1:08 looks like a football brown trout hahaha.. great video guys nice catch and release on these beauties

  • OMG i have been fly fishing 20 + i am in awe!!!!!!

  • what were you using? where at in new york?

  • where was this creek?...Ive caughten big browns out of cayuga lake and lake ontario...but not in streams..those are huge gorgeous fish...what time of year is this?

  • lovely fish

  • Much sewage in those waters?

  • nice browns

  • Nice vids all round, some nice browns there.

  • Film pokazuje piękno wędkowania szkoda że nie w Polsce.

  • Yeah but you have nice salmon runs in Poland though...

  • Nice browns in those streams...need to play em' as fast as you can, don't harm em' much, then get them back in the water.. Probably sounds strange but, in time, you'll agree that's the most satisfying part of it all...

  • We have some of the best fishing in the world in western New York State. This is not a privately stocked stream. You can catch lake run browns, steelhead and salmon out of any tributary of Lake Erie or Ontario. This looks like 18 Mile creek, a tributary of Lake Erie, south of Buffalo, NY. There is also an 18 Mile Creek that flows in to Lake Ontario. They're running right now. Most people would never associate NY with world class hunting and fishing...but here it is!

  • yes it is.... on the northern end of cayuga lake about houtr and a half east of buffalo, we catch 6 to 7 lb small and large mouth all day

  • where could i catch fish like this. i just moved to a place near lake ontario

  • Any of the feeder streams going into Lake Ontario have lake run fish like this. Check the Sanders fishing guide for details.

  • I love Brownies! If you live in the midwest you ought to try the White River and you'll catch browns like these, if you know what you're doing, and even bigger. My biggest there was 14 and an ounce. Had one bigger than that sraighten my hook and get off on a size 4 woolly bugger.

  • almost too big to believe. i'd kill for the opportunity to catch browns that size.

  • Yeah very nice trout!

But it is not good to lift them up by the tail

Just get a mate to lift them up by the tail and one hand under the belly like your holding it up for a photo, or just net it with a catch and release net and bring it to the bank.

  • those are huge browns. Your livin the dream man!

  • big fish. did you catch any under 20 inches that day.

  • Wow, those are big! Do you use stremers to catch them, or do they take dryflies as well?

btw; you should never lift a fish by its tail, and especially not a fish that size...it fucks up their back.

  • they are not that big iv got them in ontario

  • yup plenty of them!

  • cool Browns !! Keep on flyfishing !

  • huge fish!

  • nice fish. This looks so fun, and looks nothing like the NY i visited..lol. I wish they had some places like this in mammoth

  • If you fly fish go to "Hot Creek" Ive seen browns like these come out of there.. lost a good one there today.

  • Awesome fish! Looks like a total blast, and I hope to make it up there some day to tap that fishery. It IS true, that tailing a big trout can be very damaging to its internal organs and especially it's spine. I know you love these fish, so horizontal with good support is the only way to lift them from the water. They will swim off fine, but die later in some cases :(

  • Huge trout up there. There are nice browns and lakers in the some of the deeper lakes and reservoirs in southern NY as well. The fish like that up north look like they are on roids lol.

  • Man what great looking trout.

It must make you happy to have trout stock like that in your area.Wow they are big , good fishing boys.Trout-stalkers nz.

  • Gordy I saw your video and the trout were pretty amazing there

  • wow there nice fish, idk where in ny they were caught but people left and right were pulling out huge ones at the Pulaski

  • nice fish - my guess is that they are on their spawning runs from the great lakes, they definately aren't stream bred fish, unless this is secretly new zealand or argentina/chile.

  • Some of these fish are being played to exhaustion - not wise. Also, they should be returned to the water as soon as possible, or killed quickly. If we miss-handle fish the animal libbers will come after us...

  • Let's see. I count 14 fish caught in a video less than 3 minutes. How would you know how long the fight is? 0 fish died... I was there a week and there were no dead fish in the river...No fish was out of the water long either... I hate know it alls. The only way you could know that a fish these fish were misahndled or left out of the water too long, is from your experience of mishandling fish and keeping them out of the water too long, then seeing them die.

  • @flyfishingjunkee Well said!

  • congratulations , it's a pleasure to see so many big fishes , in a short time video .

It's difficult in France to catch brown trouts > 25 inches .

I m just dreaming in front of my screen .

  • biggist browns iv ever seen

  • Trout whisper i know what ya mean. Great fishing in Colorado. But man o man, i would give so much to go up here. Who knew? Fishing in New York!

  • when you hold a trout by the tail it seperates there backbone. Just a heads up

  • Question guyz...I live in Vermont been to Ontario once at Pulaski. Can I fish the streams like you guys for trout using Rapalas?

Also do you know if anyone who fishes the streams uses nightcrawlers...and has any luck?

I fished in the lake with no luck using crawlers or Rapalas....but my buddies were catching them on bass plugs they painted with florescent fingernail polish...I about shit my pants! Would love to fish the rivers!

  • like i live in ny and i fish the ramapo river wich is not as wide as that river but much deeper and i bottom fish with crawlers and i get stuff. i mostly get bass than trout but i have used the fly before and got a 13 inch brown trout before

  • cool you fished the ramapo river too

i just fished there yesterday on the fly-rod

and caught a nice 11 inch brown trout

    on a stonefly nymph

i found him in a small pool when he made a splasing rise and when i hooked him he made a big splash followed by long deep runs into the rocky bottom of the pool

oh how his golden skin shined nicely whenever he was turning in the pool

  • that sounds really nice the ramapo used to be in my backyard untill i moved in january

  • what size is your tippet? How about leader and what fly did you use

  • Wow I think I have to visit upstate NY.

    Nice monsters!

  • so you guys go out and catch these monsters like its nothing?

  • Sadly after you catch a bunch it isn't as exciting as your fist 10lber. Make no mistake though I will be back next year.

  • were is that, my father and i are planing a trip now and i was wondering were that river is and what time of year you guys went?

  • That's upstate ny for ya. The best multi-species fishing in the country. Everyone oohs and ahhhs for montana, wyoming, ect. I'd put New York up against um all. Lake Erie has world class steelhead, walleye and smallies. Lake Ontario has it all and the tribs during the right time of year are out of this world. The Niagara River is insane with steelhead. I could go on and on. I probably caught 20 browns over 5 lbs this year and that doesn't even give me bragging rights with my friends.

  • try colorado ? bigger fish than alaska and were every you live on the wrong side of the mississippi

  • There are TONS of places to fish in NY. Upstate NY is mostly farm country and nature.

  • Some sloppy handling on some lovely fish, why not use your friends net?

  • because nets usualy do more damage to the fish. a wet hand is better than a wet net.

  • you shouldnt pick up large trout or salmon just by the tail because you can make the backbone separate and cause the fish harm. i didnt realize it until someone told me and i picked up a 15 lb. rainbow and actually felt it happen. just a little constructive criticism for you. good luck and happy fishing,

    FISH ON!!!!!

  • Spawning Session makes for great fishing on any brown trout stream..

  • hmm privatly stocked stream im sure

  • Nope. Those fish run out of Lake Ontario.

  • thats upstate new york the browns come out of lake onterio following the salmon to the feed on there eggs those are not stocked fish by an means ive fished up there for the past 5 years the fishing in unbelivable

  • HOLY SHIT!!!...i have to get my ass to new york and fish those trouts. those was damn big, and i've never got a trout big as that. Its amazing that you got so many at that size. Look so damn fun, and those trout look so tasty. I wish that I was rich, then I could take the air plain to new york:D

this year I've defined that I am gonna catch a pike on the flyrod. never had any fish over 2kg on a flyrod before, guess it is funny:P

  • if you make it to upsate new yrok pulski or oswego you can get moster salmon and monster brown ans steelheads from sept to april!!!

  • Picking a fish out of the water by it's tail is a really bad idea. It bruises the spine, and can cause injury. Commercial fisherman are encouraged not to handle salmon in this way, as you can see the bruising up and down the spine when you fillet it. To handle a catch and release fish this way is just not a good idea.... leave it in the water, or if you must take it out of the water support it's weight midsection.

  • These can't all be wild trouts?! are they? In Norway, if I'd caught one like these, I'd be sure it was a "runaway".

  • my biggest was a 23 inch rainbow, at connetquote state park on long island, that parks pretty stacked, i seen a 15 pound trout right next to me too. but goddamn nice trout dude, where in new york is this????

  • did he let all of them go??

  • well said el roberto, I would piss myself for a fish that big

  • Sea run browns...COOL. I wish we could have seen a bit more of the fighting/landing though. And, with the exception of the one guy who beached the fish for a picture, good fish handling too.
