Freedom of Religion means freedom of all religions just like freedom of speach and expression means freedom of the aforementioned even if you don't agree with it. What part of the 1st Amendment of the Constitution do some religious wackos not understand.
Talk of Jesus' resurection is banned in China because it makes him look more powerful than government and everyone is up in arms over that and yet in the United States they want to ban divination. Well it is actualy banning a part of someone's religion not like it and this is a step in the right direction. Thank the God and Goddess that this lawsuit occured and was successful.
Congradulations. This is a step in the right direction for religios freedom. Now that the right to practice certain things is recognize, let's please not use it to scam people. Thanks.
banning divination is like banning a part of somones religion. That's messing with somone's constitutional rights. What happens if you tell then that they have to ban Jesus?
gtv4987, good comment. Only thing is that our constitutional rights have been messed with a lot lately. And banning Jesus has been on the agenda in a major way for the past 100 years, especially lately (maybe not so much in the South, but certainly all around us.
This is good for the entire Pagan community. When Wiccans challenge a biased ordinance that is pushed by the powerful right wing machine and is obviously a thinly veiled political agenda tool, and is victorious is another step towards equality. These sorts of directed efforts to challenge the deep seated preference for a certain belief system is needed and sophisticated competent legal efforts will only aid the cause of freedom of religion for all.
Cool. Personally I HATE laws like this and have even helped get some going to allow people to practice the religion of there choosing without fear of goverment reprisals. Have come under some heavy fire from other Chrsitans for doing so but not worried about it at all.
The purpose of the law was to assure no one was allowed to practice any form of Tarot Card, clairvoyant, or other type of reading. Many felt it was anti-Pagan.
Congrats to them. It's good when idiotic laws are challeged and can be stuck down. Damn, Uncle Bucky is getting on in his years. I hope he is in good health.

We agree, and the suit did not say don't regulate, just don't ban.
