I keep telling myself: I will be patriotic, stay in America and make it better, But now I am telling myself fuck it! After I graduate college I am moving to the EU.
luckily my family is from Germany, and im almost out of high school, i feel like there won't be any jobs over in the U.S by the time im out of college so i guess I'll cross the ocean.
I too was born on the wrong continent---wrong country. I am disabled, and therefore live in total poverty, and I am anti-war, Plus many other factors which place me in the wrong place at the wrong time......
I recall when Reagan as governor of CA attacked the very best higher education system the world had ever seen. He increased tuition FIVE TIMES and priced college OUT of reach of the poor which was their ONLY path out of a life of poverty.
I would have paid for shooting lessons and a high caliber weapon for John Hinckley.
No! Ship the brown shirts, brown berets, radiacal la raza illegals back across the border........like how Tom lures them in and lets his guest hang themselves.
Great video but it's going to fall on deaf ears. This argument has been made before but the Right has succeeded in tying plutocratic values to working & middle class Americans using divide & conquer and misdirecting their anger.
A parallel exists between now & antebellum United States. Poor white farmers resented their slave-owning plantation neighbors but the latter successfully brought the former under the common banner of (small r) republicanism just as the Tea Party does today.
I was DEFINITELY born on the wrong continent and have said so for years for all the reasons that Mr Geogheon states. Health care, income, vacation time, free education etc etc etc. Quality of life in Europe far exceeds the US. The only reason many Americans don't believe it is because they don't have passports!
