People don't seem to realize how many plastic bags a single grocery store goes through in one hour ...in 30 minutes! I know because I currently work as a bagger/cashier at Publix. I don't know where all those plastic bags are going, but it can't be good. Some of us baggers actually fight over who gets to bag the reusable bags because they feel so nice after handling plastic bags all day. :-D
I love the idea of use re-usable bags or pay for plastic. I think states should require a 10 cent charge per plastic bag. Eventually people will buy the re-usable bags. I mean come on, they are only 99 cents. If 99 cents per bag is too much, buy one at a time until you have as many as you need. I own 8 of them, i use them all the time. Just do it, there is no reason not to.
so if they expect people to bring their own bags to stores, just how many is that? I know shopping for groceries, that's like six or seven bags. And I bet the person in this video doesn't bring his cotton bag shopping, but just promotes something he doesn't do
Go for it hun. You are doing a great job. It is such a predicament. I promote bags too, they are reusable but they are still made from plastic (albeit part recycled)My issue with cotton is the pollution the cotton industry is responsible for among other problems. We are in a sad way and every little thing we can all do to help this planet..is a good thing. So i commend you.

I bring as many bags as I can (put all of them inside one until I checkout) and recycle any that I occasionally get.

I wish more people would use a cloth bag. Eventually, there should be a tax on purchases using plastic bags or a complete ban on them.
