Without a question..Tommy's a fabulous finger style player but not so much so if there's a pick between his fingers. Boy he's annoying!! Frank seems so glad it all ended...he was looking forward to leaving the stage...hehe...

HOLY CRAP! I gotta say when Frank first hooked up with Tommy he was a little cautious(?), maybe in awe. He's really opened up and it looks like he's gotten much more comfortable and quite a bit more expert. That was (wait for it) AWESOME!

Inspite of the poor sound, the obvious joy from both guitarists' effort, was only surpassed by the audiences love of the performance. I would really love to hear this if a proper recording was made, this one sounds very hollow. At the speed this was played, the only way to listen is to let the whole thing just wash over you. I would only say it was too fast if they were unable to play in unison, they did, therefore it wasn't.

Very impresssive...my dog does that same leg thing if you scratch him in the right spot......I agree some parts were so fast it sounded messy.

Just wondering. Would you have to practice to be able to play like that? My theory is that there is a 'guitar planet' where players like Tommy and Frank come from and that if you`re not from that planet you can`t play like they can.

Everybody says something like

if yo cant or if you dont to read music you are not a true musician,

i can read partitures but sometimes both are necesary.

If you don't have enough time for reading the fingering of a piece of music, or if you are teaching a student some music you will need a tab.

I can read music but to be honest in those cases ive used it .

@gillan5 Oh we are nice people. But I wouldn't talk about assaulting people or accepting other peoples opinions when you just insulted two of the world's greatest jazz guitarists. I mean really, you had to expect a response like this from at least one person. There is a lot of theory that goes into what they are doing, there really is. It's not just fooling around, there's a lot of stuff that they have to think about while they're doing all this. It's hard work and talent, not just noodling.

Personally I don't rate tabs very highly, they'll never make you a great player. Just learn the blues scale inside and out, eventually you'll be able to work out any blues phrase you hear. The difficulty is in playing them fast, with expression and stringing them together musically! Enjoy!
