  • NICE!

  • @4:39 "Sherwood Forrest" lol raining blood on the sheriff of nottingham

  • It's like playing Slayer at 1% speed.....

  • i've been a slayer fan since the early 80's and a tori fan since the 90's, and i have to say she kicked this fucker out of the stadium. got the 'atmosphere' right. i can't imagine a better cover (unless you like your covers played exactly like the original, which so many artists do).

  • and the burp startled me haha

  • this cover honestly gives me chills down my spine.. its creepy and honestly very emotional.

  • look I know that tori amos doesn't do heavy metal and that you have to expect her cover to be really different from the original, and I do think that the idea of a major reinterpretation of this song by a non-metal artist is really cool. But this cover is just plain terrible. I'm not complaining that it doesn't have the same effect as the original, I just don't think it has any effect at all. It's boring and aimless and is just plain shitty and sounds like a weird attempt at a joke.

  • i heard this song 3 am in the morning and the burb at 3:39 freaks me out!!

  • Самый трешевый момент в песне видео - когда мужик рыгнул!

  • Comment removed

  • This will be played one day before the end of humanity.

  • wtf is that burb at 3:39?

  • Kerry King liked it. Way dark in a different way.

  • 3:39 xD

  • Not a bad cover, but @lunaradiation Jeff Hanneman and Kerry King wrote this song. Slayer is a thrash metal band, they write their shit themselves unlike most of the pop artists.

  • @ZimTheHomicidalAlien looking at his video description he is a bit lost... ;)

  • Forget about Doom Metal, this is the abyss...

  • Wow. I'm actually kind of weirded out by this, in a good way.

  • Interesting touch.

  • You know what? I don't hate this.

  • "Beck's bass player [Justin Meldal-Johnsen] suggested I do a cover of Slayer's Raining Blood...I was reading about what was going on in Afghanistan--the way women were being oppressed, the destruction of religious statues. And when I heard that song, I just imagined a huge juicy vagina coming out of the sky, raining blood over all those racist, misogynist fuckers."

-- Tori; Spin Magazine, Oct 2001

  • @avatarmn

    Ha, that's so awesome.

  • even the guy who uploaded this is retarded, Jeff Hanneman and kerry king did write this song, tori amos covered this in 2001.

if you upload something, at least know what you are uploading.

  • I heard she did this song to the women whose vaginal body parts are mutilated in other countries.

  • 3:39 - stay classy!

  • I truly love Slayer and I truly love Tori, and when I heard she was gonna cover this, i knew she would do it Tori-style. But I must say, I was disappointed by the fact that the melody isn't even the same. I figured the melody would remain unchanged, and it would be a lot slower, but it doesn't sound at all like the same song. The melody is different.

  • yo escucho slayer es la mejor banda en mi concepto, pero este cover es genial, es bello y oscuro, no me parece que tenga algo de parecido con slayer ,solo el nombre, pero esta genial !

  • The best Slayer cover, becuase is a sad and dark song!!!!!!!

  • I don't understand a fuck in this song

  • You know what? I've changed my mind, I think it is awful! And when Tori covers songs of other artists it's always a song of agony. ALWAYS.

I like her work A LOT. There's no one like here in the US,,, but I can't lie to myself, Sorry if U feel hurt, It's only my opinion!

And it's not about INTELLIGENCE nor MATURITY.

I prefer Happy Rhodes for covers, or Natalie Cole.

  • I was just gonna listen to the song, but then I read the video poster's comment. I'm gonna go sit in the corner and laugh until I see stars now.

  • As someone who enjoys metal, I have to admit I'm embarrassed by some of the opinions of some of the Slayer fans here... it doesn't speak highly to their intelligence. This is a neat reinterpretation of the song in the style of the artist... did you really expect Tori Amos to record a thrash metal song? Are you a moron?

  • @Manforce85 I can definitely relate to what you're saying. I'm a huge fan of vintage metal and punk, but often find the narrow-mindedness and intolerance of metal and punk fans to be exceedingly tedious. Mind you, I'm not making a blanket statement about all fans. But suffice it to say that lots of them can't seem to handle being exposed to anything outside their very limited comfort zones without being overtly hostile and dismissive.

  • @Manforce85 i get that she wasn;t going to do a thash song, just like judas priest didn;t stick with the acoustic folk version of diamonds and rust. I just think it's a boring song that doesn't capture the feeling of the original.

  • @KmKY...Ahhaaa you just made my day! \m/ \m/

  • Darker than Slayer...

  • It was written by Jeff Hanneman & King u twat

  • A sick version of one of the sicker song ever! Excelent!

  • ths is a slayer cover??? aaaaaarrrrrgggghhhhhhh MINDFUCK!!!!!!

  • you have to laugh at the Slayer fans. listen lads. just because you have the same hair as a little girl, doesn't mean you have to act like one. going into a spoiled princess screaming fit whenever someone touches your favourite dolly.

  • @KMKYradio lol thats a little harsh. Gotta remember though, a lot of people that like metal are this way, especially when it comes to the bands they like. they might just be overreacting?

  • @hitlerisanoob indeed, just cause it's not going at a 1000bpm doesn't mean it's bad you know?

  • What the hell are you getting at lunaradiation? You're making no sense.

  • watch?v=bx2I0Cvprp4

  • Somehow I find Amos' version darker and more intense than Slayers'

  • FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

  • what kinda shit do you want to tell us man?

raining blood is written by slayer, tori covered

    but although a good song

    next time check your sources

  • @SirWhipMe Is not a burp, is an exhalation of death.

  • @ 3:39 - wtf?! :D

  • I know tori amos dont play trash metal, but i am with king, what the hell? this is just the lyrics is not the song, to bad i was expecting for something better :(

  • @fedeeee123

If you listen it's quite clearly the same chord structure.

  • wtf are you saying in the description? you really are taking out your thoughts

  • I was headbanging trough the entire song, true story....

Also, awsome cover, even if you can't recognise it :P

  • laaaaaaaame

  • Saying this is a cover of Raining Blood is like saying King Nothing is a cover of Enter Sandman just because he says "Off to Never Never Land" at the end. I just don't see it. If it were billed as "Music inspired by the Slayer classic Raining Blood" I would have no problem... but this is not a cover by any means.

  • Ive got nothing against Tori Amos but this sucks. I was hoping for some epic crazy woman piano magic here... but it's just... Boring.

  • @Lokust13 Yeah that would have been fun! Heh you slayer fans are speedfreaks!

  • what the fuck?

  • this has some of the same lyrics but i dont get how its even considered a different version of the same song. the only lyrics that are the same are awaiting the hour of reprisal, sky is turning red, and raining blood from a lacerated sky. atleast the only ones i can decifer.

  • @jjk696969 No, it's all definitely the same lyrics. Araya just has a tendency to sing like a madman, so it's almost impossible to understand the lyrics in the song to begin with.

  • Reign in blood.... She sung the anthem for armegeddon... Evil as Hell!

  • Vete a la mierda Tori Amos

  • Comment removed

  • It takes a nice dose of MATURITY to admit that this IS good, even if Slayer did it better.

Covers are made in order to PRAISE, not to show disrespect... Try to understand Tori's intentions...

Someone said this is 'profanation'. I say, 'profanation' takes place very often when people like u and me try to SING that kind of songs ourselves...

  • @Sharmilka No it doesn't. Yeah right you're so mature because you think this is good. It's slow and played on piano so it's ''art''. Actually it's boring, repetitive and lame.

  • @ionepgp Yeah, it's boring to people who are boring themselves. Just like classical music is boring to some ppl. Or maybe it's just an opinion? To me Lady Gaga is boring, because she's predictable.

I never said I'm mature. Keep you emotions to yourself.

  • @Sharmilka Ok then, everbody who dislikes Tori Amos is boring then. Some classical music is lame. Quality of the music has nothing to do with it's genre.

Actually you did said you're mature, your comment IMPLIES that. Why should I keep my emotions to myself? That's boring. Although I never shared my emotions with you, so I don't see the point of your last sentence.

  • @ionepgp You can share your FEELINGs, not emotions.

I guess you have a problem with everyone who likes this song. That's so sad.

  • @Sharmilka Perhaps I can't speak english as good as you? No I don't have problem with anybody who likes this song, that's your imagination, The fact is that you think that everybody who dislikes this song is imature and boring. And then you're saying that I have a problem with everbody who likes this song hahaha. And the true is that you have problem with EVERY person on the world who dislikes this song hahaha.

  • @ionepgp Metal can get pretty repetive too only then its annoying as it doesnt flow as well. Its usually just the same rock hard riff over and over again. Damn Opeth.

  • @PennyDreadful1 That's probably because you're listening to wrong bands.

  • @PennyDreadful1 I can show you some serious masterpieces.

  • To all detractors, what the hell did you expect Tori Amos to do with this song? Recruit a speed metal cover band? In the interest of being semi-polite, pull your head out of your collective asses! I've been a Slayer fan for 20 years, and the only thing that really shocks me about this version is that it _works!_! Tori captured the _spirit_ of the song, saw the beauty that was already there in the song's brutality. Didn't change a lyric! Listen closely, kids, this is how covers _should_ be done!

  • God damn, the people bitching about this just because it's soft and slow and "supposed" to be a metal song piss me off. Get over yourselves, get over your fucking music bands that you adore so much, and at least try to appreciate a different style of music that doesn't make you feel like a big man - if you need music to endorse your masculinity, you're an idiot.

That said, this was a good effort but I did find it repetitive about halfway through... could have used some dynamic.

  • did you burp? hah :/

  • I actually kind of liked it, I mean, it's not GREAT but it isn't bad...

  • 3:38 laughed my fucking arse off.

  • I didnt know you can make a completely different song with no musical simiarities except for lyrics and call it a cover? Thats like if i sang the tune of ring-around-the-fucking-rosey with lyrics to cannibal corpse and called that shit a cover.

  • @Zeldabo146676 You know it would probably be a more fitting style if you did, the song is about people suffering and dying from plague.

I don't know, the random names music people give to different things are so arbitrary and poorly-defined it's just disgusting. You could call it a cover, maybe a tribute is a better word since a cover is flattery by imitation and a tribute like this puts their own spin on it... Maybe it doesn't matter that much.

  • i´d love to be in the car with you on that ride..surreal, beautiful

  • I love Slayer and has done so since I first heard the album "Show no Mercy" way back when it was new. This is one of the best covers I know, it sounds nothing at all like the original song (and that is great, because that version is already recorded by Slayer) but it still has the spirit and atmosphere of that song recorder by a thrash band in 1986.

  • although it doesnt sound at all like Slayer,I do really like what Tori did with the song

I love the dark and airy aimbience she gave it,it gives you a different perspective of the original song

  • what are you talking about? slayer wrote this song layoff on the weed...

  • this sucks

  • This song is great. A sensational cover done by Tori Amos. But isn't there any better quality version available on youtube?

  • this turns one of the best thrash songs of all time into a mewling mess, why did she have to cover this? i can honsestly say this is the shiottest song i've heard in a long time

  • whats with the burp?

  • Great song !But somebody'S burping at 3:38 :D :D

  • someones driving slow in the fast lane. do i hear a dennis leary reference?

  • 3.39 xD xD xD xD

  • Love the belch at about 3:41. WTF is this crap? I can't make out any of the words, and between Tom Arraya, and Tori Amos, you'd think that Tori would be easier to understand...btw Slayer did write this song. I have no idea where you got the idea some "little old lady" wrote it. Look it up on Wikipedia.

    -Oz

  • Man...This is the worst song i ever heard. Shit Shit Shit

Jebane gówno - to w moim ojczystym języku

    Wiekszego shitu nie widziałem

    Slayer o wiele lepszy.

Jak można było tak zbeszcześcić tą wspaniałą piosenkę?

  • of course slayer didn't wrote this song, Kerry King And Jeff Hanneman worte it :)

  • The only problems I see is she messed up the riff at 1:00 a tad bit.

Also I have never heard a cover in which the vocalist sounded so close to Tom Araya before.

    Great cover!

  • dude, this son was made by Slayer probably before you were born

  • Creepy.

  • Tori Amos shall command in Blood!!! No doubt!

  • Sorry, I'm a Slayer fan and a Tori fan, but this just does not pass muster.

  • @erinmichaelfinney -yeah I hear you. As a long time fan of both, I usually dig Tori's covers, but I dont like this one at all. She should have sped it up and added a beat and dark gritty bassline behind it. And added some power to her vocals! We all know she can do it. Look what she did with "Do It Again." Pure genius.

  • yep.

this is 100% a slayer tune.

i like her version a lot.

  • I've loved Slayer and Tori for so long! Seen them both live. I even got to meet Tori. A beautiful experience! This video strangely works so well with the song! Nice one! Although, i'm sure we could've done without the burp... Lol! \m/ (:o)

  • This song is much more twisted than the original.

    They're both incredible songs.

  • Im a metal head. Through and through.

    But this?

    THIS?

    ...

    Is fucking awesome :D!

  • Slayer wrote this song.

  • It's funny to see metal fans get bent out of shape over someone's musical expression, since basically that was the whole point of metal in the first place. It's just been turned on it's head here. If it's not loud enough you are too old. (BTW I love metal and Tori Amos).

  • 3:38 burp

  • Um, Slayer DID write this song. There is even an interview with members of the band where they talk about the fact Tori did a cover of their song. Some people need to do research before they open their keyboards.....

  • Burp @ 3:40...classy lol...get on the horn and see if you can put that in a song of hers. adds an organic quality unheard. :-P

  • I appreciate this whole concept album she did "Strange Little Girls" but I hate Hate this version of this song. And a few others off that album too.

  • when you hear her say "awaiting reprisal" you should know its raining blood

  • raining blood is top 5 metal song ever, this song is fkn awesome

  • I won't say it's bad or a disgrace or such bullshit..I just expected it better..it's a bit boring..that's just my opinion though..I give her credits for composing the whole song..it needs talent to listen to the original version and come up with this..

  • Вот чёрт, хоть бы подолбила по клавишам

  • lol the burp xD

  • What kind of shit music is this? This is an absolute disgrace to Slayer. The vocals suck and this poorly conveys the message Raining Blood tried to.

  • @hdrevolution123: Slayer disagrees with you, actually.

  • this woman has some guts :>

  • eh... well.. i have no idea what is going on. I have heard the Slayer song a million times, yet I had to open the damn lyrics to find out where this lady was... King was right. I couldn't have guessed it was the same song, if the title didn't say so.

Its alright though. Not the same thing, but I liked the fact that atleast the lady has balls enough to cover a slayer! also, atleast she didn't kill it like that Avril chick massacred Metallica's Fuel

  • @ridge87701

Metallica post-Mustaine sucks in general but the song Fuel sucks especially. Avril Lavigne's bad but she couldn't make it much worse.

  • @Kogerii So you were a really big Metallica fan in 1982?

  • Holy f*cking sh*t, it's damn creepy...

  • The best part of this song is the burp 8)

  • hey I bet you're driving to meet a buddy of yours if you know what I'm saying haha

  • Holy shit, this is a bit haunting.

  • This sounds like some music that plays in a movie when the protagonist gets shot to death violently. MUCH better than the shit we have to deal with from 99.9% of pop auto-tune skanks.

  • ... Gee... Who knew Slayer could sound this fucking creepy.

  • Meldal-Johnsen chose the album Reign in Blood, and after listening to it, Amos agreed to make a cover version of "Raining Blood".[6]. Slayer called the cover "creepy" and also that it was good enough to send Amos a Slayer T-Shirt, which she said was appreciated. King states the cover was odd; "It took me a minute and a half to find a spot in the song where I knew where she was. Slayer rules Tori rocks,

  • Why oh why didn't you go to Sherwood Forest?

  • SLAYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEER! \o/

  • this song is dark, deep, insane. Great Job by Tori

  • thumbs down because who uploaded this video sucks

  • Very eerie....

  • @chucknorrisrox126 Well put, i was going with sleep-like, but that's even better.

  • incredible! better, then the original! but what was that burp in it? :P

  • Not as rocking as the original, but I'm still going to have nightmares about this version. It's well done, but it's creepy as hell...

  • Oddly enough, I kinda liked this version

  • too wierd for me haha

  • OP is a fuckin jerk off....

"LITTLE OLD LADY DOWN THE ROAD YOU NEVER SEE!! HERP A DERP"

go fucking kill yourself and save the world all of the oxygen that you waste, you worthless, ignorant, amoebic minded sack of human waste. die in a fire, with all of your family, for you are of obvious inferior genetics.

    suck a dick huh?

  • @SirWhipMe eeeeee can u make me happy? earth is dominated by arseholes.

  • @SirWhipMe nexrt i'll be told god created earth, ed.

  • I have to say that this song would be one creeeeeeppppyyy song to listen to while driving at night! BTW. 4 out of 10 on the belch. Should have been longer :-P.

  • mog this is so fucking boring

    GOD LISTEN TO SLAYER!!!!!!!!!!

  • i lold so hard at 3:39

  • What the fuck is up with the description?

  • @BSUOSUlover record companies like to make out bands are self sufficient.

  • @lunaradiation Not only did Slayer write Raining Blood, but also, your sentences make no sense. I don't eve know what you are trying to say the entire second half. But no, Slayer wrote the song, deal with it.

  • @BSUOSUlover I think he was just joking with us. He obviously wouldn't be serious if he wrote all that crap

  • @lunaradiation you're pretty retarded... that doesn't even make sense

  • @lunaradiation Slayer actually did write this song

check out the raining blood wikipedia page, its all there, Slayer even sent Tori Amos a T-shirt because they found it so creepy

  • thanks for burping at 3:40, moron

  • @Onkledude 3;39 actually you big silly billy.

  • I don't know how she took took one of the fastest, most powerful and fast thrash classics and made it so doomy and experimentally pop, but she did it. And for some reason, it sounds scarier to me, and I'm a die-hard thrash metal and Slayer fan.

This is oddly good. I can't explain it, but it works for weird reasons. She really made a jump with this song, and didn't care where she landed or what others thought. I can't help but respect her for what she did with this song! It is truly her own!

  • Comment removed

  • Yay, Nottinghamshire! Brings back memories...

    The song is nicely atmospheric.

  • Why? Because it's creepy as hell...and therefore awesome.

  • Why did she even bothering calling this a cover? It doesn't even remotely sound like Raining Blood, Slayer, or even a song that would be played by a metal band. What the fuck? She could've just given it a different name.

  • not to fond of this cover it's not bad just not my style defiantly different

  • I think Slayer never had a song called Raining Blood it's Reigning Blood!!!!!!

  • @Anyaandmerlin

The album is called Reign in Blood, the song is called Raining Blood. There's a difference.

  • @Anyaandmerlin The album is Reign In Blood; the song is Raining Blood!

  • I'm a slayer fan, and I really dont like this. It's got nothing in common with Slayer (apart from maybe the lyrics that you cant hear from her poor singing style), and it's slow, dreary, and goes no-where. That's just my opinion on it.

  • @mikez2605 I think the fact it is different is kind of the point.

  • I'm a Slayer fan, but I have to say I like this version a lot. Slayer can sing the alphabet and it sounds evil, but for her to slow this down, sort of makes it creepy. I think that this version is unnerving on a level that Slayer couldn't begin to accomplish with all of their eggs in the instrument basket. Voice and inflection can be more powerful than guitar. Tori Amos did a brilliant job with this.

  • Good burp at around 3:40

  • I'm a Slayer fan and I was very surprised to see this cover. The piano arran
