  • Wow, how soar was Chuck's throat after that?

  • 1:54

  • This song is the shiz.

Although, and your thoughts are welcome, I'm disappointed that Revolutionaries wasn't included on Year of the Crow.

Also, The General isn't that great a song. Studio version at least, live it kicks ass.

Also, State Radio is more mature than Dispatch, they've got something to say and they're saying it. Which is maybe what some Dispatch fans can't take. It's just low to lay all your own dislike of the subject matter on the music though, which is inventive and beastly.

  • i agree completely, but i like dispatch just as much as stadio, and i also agree with you about the general comment, but, if you listen, Basically all dispatch songs are better live

  • umm.. the general kicks ass

  • that running in circles with the little kid was really cute.

god state radio is just too great for words

  • me? i love state radio... LOVE THEM.

  • Great song but does anyone else that like the first few seconds of the guitar sound alot like 'Merican by the Descendents? I'm not saying they copied but it's weird.

  • Where can i hear the song? Interesting.

  • I really don't hear that! I think you are just trying to imagine it that way.

  • Mad Dog looks a lot like John Frusciante at 1:25 or so

  • I really can't get over how wicked this song is.

  • All I'm saying is that Guantanamo is just one long, screaming orgasm in music form. That's all.

  • State Radio is one of the most political bands out there right now and if you say that there lyrics mean nothing, then u obviously have not actually listened to there music, all im trying to say is to sit down and listen to them and give them a chance because they are one damn good band on top of that

  • I personally think System of A Down was more political.

  • Well true. State Radio is *generally* more humanitarian than political. They have many blatantly political songs, but the humanitarian and social awareness songs outweigh the political.

  • Exactly, and i got 2 thumbs down for my comment T_T

  • Although, ironically, we just recently discovered that SR's kinda-new song "Mansin Humanity" is about the Armenian genocide, something SOAD always moved to call international attention to.

    And Maddog is Armenian.

    The parallels continue!!

  • yeah state radio is my favorite band so you all need to shut the hell up and just listen to the music

  • I LOVE STATE RADIO, end of story. And you all should too.

And you should all stop arguing about it, its great music no matter how you look at it.

  • state radio is the shit, dispatch is the shit too thing is tho theyre not together anymore so support their new bands chetro with state radio and pete and brad with their solo stuff its all good

  • happy birthday mrk

  • Thank you, sir.

But just a quick response: I do stop and listen to the music, and Guantanamo is awesome, I love it, and wish it could conceive my children.

    :-)

  • Mike, i just feel like you and red are only arguing just for the sake of arguing and not actually listening to the music. The actual musicianship has been lost in songs like Guantanamo, The Diner Song, and other state radio songs. I just hope songs like this dont reflect on the bands overall style and true ability. I just know with you being 6'5" you should be less open minded than you are, its common sense.

  • You sound like just another Dispatch fan looking for someone to blame. Get over it. Musically State Radio is not Dispatch. But as far as "musicianship"? That doesn't even make sense. Listen to Mr. Larkin, Hopless Tender, Calvado's Chopper, Right Me Up and Indian Moon. I see a vast growth in music and song writting ability shared through the whole band.

  • every song you just named has been around for years so the growth youre speaking of makes less sense then you think

  • ...WE are arguing for the sake of arguing?! look at your comments. you've been asking for arguing since your first post. this is lame

  • yea but thoses songs are also alot different now then they were then. chad pretty much never has a song set. so i would call that growth.

  • youre trying to tell me that hopeless tender and indian moon have changed, they have never played hopeless tender live ecen once so how can you say its changed?

  • i know hopeless tender has never been played. and indain moon has been and its been changed. listen to the 8/3/07 version from the beachcomber and tell me it hasnt changed.

  • I'm trying to show you that there's not one style that state radio sounds like. These are all unique songs with their own style. Its hard for me to comprehend that someone can really think that all of Chads songwritting ability and originality stopped with the general

  • ooh that was a joke

  • i'm not going to argue because music is 100% opinionated. you think that state radio is lesser than dispatch. cool, lots of people think that. i think that state radio is better than dispatch. also cool, a lot of people think that. i just wish people could think of state radio and dispatch as TWO SEPARATE BANDS. would you compare red hot chili peppers and madonna? probably not.

  • I'm not belittling your opinion, but your argument is flawed by nature. You clearly have a blindly-biased hatred of certain music. I know because I was the same. I loathed Guant, now I love it. And your asinine argument for the bands popularity difference- aside from the TIME each has been around- do you comprehend the trend of fan thought? It's akin to an actor's switch from comedy to dramatic and the public berating it purely because they refuse to accept anything but his original repertoire.

  • All I'm going to say is that you have your argument backwards. SR is not different than Spatch by quality, it's style. Ever hear any of the live recordings of SR? They do not lack in quality at all.

  • cant wait for this album!

  • state radio is not dispatch. take it for what it is, not what it isnt.

  • state radio really needs to stop being compared to dispatch

  • chad still has it

    hes just switched his style

state radio isnt gonna be like dispatch so your either gonna like it more or your gonna like it less

over time state radio grows on you until you cant live without it

  • your a fucking idiot

  • Ok you either have the music taste of a retarted turtle or are high on crack right now...

  • State Radio is one of the most fucking talented bands out there today. And honestly, the General wasnt Dispatch's best song. It was one of the best, and its a fantastic song, but in my opinion its not the best. plus, as its been said before, Dispatch and SR are 2 completely different bands with 2 completely different styles. And maybe if you pulled your head out of your ass youd see that

  • amen

  • mad dog's and chuck's vocals are excellent!
